You should drink before, during and after working out. During exercise it is perfectly ok to take sips of water but I wouldn't think that filling your belly up with water and then doing some heavy cardio is a good idea. As for the temp of the water, there are all sorts of myths out there about it. Personally I prefer cold water after cardio and in the summer time and room temp water when doing weights or anything else. It's really an individual and personal choice...

I drink water while I work out if I feel the desire to do so. Replenishing my fluids is important, and like the others, the temperature of my water is personal preference - sometimes cold, sometimes room temperature.

I carry a water bottle with me and use it all day long. It is an easy way to stay hydrated.

If I don't drink regularly while working out I get horribly dehydrated and get a headache. This is especially true with cardio but I drinking while lifting too.

I drink more with lifting than I do with cardio. Never thought about it before.

I usually sip on water throughout my workouts. My preference is ice water but it may not be for everyone

It's pretty individual. I read running advice about not needing to take water with you unless you go more than, I don't remember, was it 45 minutes or something like that? Anyway, I always took water with me, and drink it from the beginning (in sips). I feel thirsty! It's most definitely not ice water in the winter! Maybe cooled water in the summer, but even then not icy when I'm running.

I try to drink water throughout the day. It makes me less thirsty when working out and I believe keeps me better hydrated than trying to get a lot of water in during a workout.

I'll sip water when I feel the need during weight training. When I go run I don't carry water with me. I only run 2-3 miles, though. I've heard when you get to the point of 5 miles + you should bring some fluid with you.

YMMV

i drink about 8 glasses or more of water a day...before i work out, i drink half a cup, during exercise (an hour cardio) i drink the whole bottle, and after i drink a cup.
i find that when im exercising, i feel more replenished and energized with ice cold water...

I drink small sips of water when working out. If I drink too much I feel "weighed down" and sluggish. After my workout, I usually drink a whole 16oz bottle.

I also prefer mine ice cold.
