Default How many calories in....?

Hey all!
I know this thread is gonna be a throw-away, one-answer type thread just to get my question figured out... so to make it a little less useless, I'm gonna say this thread is for those tricky foods where you just can't seem to get a consistent answer on how many calories are in that ONE kind of food! Poll everyone else to find someone who knows!

For me, it's a sausage roll! I chowed down on one this morning, and just guessed at its calories. I assumed somewhere around 350-400 calories... but now that I'm trying to figure out its ACTUAL number, I'm getting some real inconsistencies. A lot of sites say 250, which seems really low to me, what with the greasiness factor, but one site even said 600!

It looked like this one:

What are we thinking ladies? Do we have anyone who actually knows how many calories are in one of these greasy pieces of heaven?

looks to me like anywhere between 200 and 400
According to www.aminoz.com.au 100g of a sausage roll is 289-305 calories, so if you know how much it weighed you might be able to figure it out

Lol, I ate it out at a restaurant, so I didn't have a little scale with me.

Alright, I'm just gonna say for argument's sake that they're 350 from now on. I'd rather estimate high rather than low, neh?

I am sorry, I feel so stupid, but what is a sausage roll? I have never heard of it. When you tell me I will probably smack myself in the forehead and say duh, but I really don't know what it is right now.

Its ground sausage (or just finely ground meat, herbs and spices etc) wrapped in pastry

In Australia, sausage rolls and meat pies are what hamburgers & pizza are to Americans . . . the reason we are chunky!!

You get them at all fast food joints here. Delish.

Well. I hate to be a spoilsport (and it's my first time back on this message board since 2002!) BUT... a number of years ago I dissected a NYC cheese calzone.

I weighed the cheese and measured it -- full fat ricotta; 1 cup = 11 points. I weighed the crust -- 8 oz = 16 points. (keep up with me, we're at 26 points already.)
I weighed the mozzarella -- 2 oz = 4 points. So, 31 for the whole shootin' match.

Sausage roll would be less -- but the important thing is, did you LOVE IT?

Lol, oh god, don't you love when you can literally just stare at a food and know it's more than your calories for the WHOLE DAY and be like, "Yummmm. "

...the sausage roll was damn good, I DID love it.

They do make pocket size scales......http://www.pocket-scales.com/
lol I have a really nice kitchen one. Maybe you can find out what brand of sausage the restaurant uses, or if they of the nutrient values.
