(repost from June Thread) So I am still 146 yet I lost an inch. I am thinking my strength training is making it so the scale is not as useful anymore. Honestly if I can be 37-24-36 again I could weigh 300 pounds and I wouldn't care.

Reason: wanted some content even if it's old
I'm glad you made it home ok Prinny. I think I forgot to tell you earlier.
I just got back from Ky for a class reunion and go to the beach on the 17th! I can't wait, I was so hoping to be in a size 10 by then, but thanks to this plateau this is not happening I guess, oh well, at least I'm way smaller than last year, so that's something.
Can you believe that we're starting our second 1/2 of the year. Where had time flown to?????July 1st and a new month for me to get work and get 1/2 of this weight off.
I'm going to try something new by having protein shakes or slim fast shakes before and after Independence Day holiday, maybe that will shake something up in my system to get the scale moving down again.
PRINNY-Thanks for starting us up for a new month. Maybe you strength training is building muscle and they always say muscle weight more than fat. You have a hourglass figure and you should be proud of that.
MELWOLFE-You doing great being smaller that last year. Its just the opposite with me,I was smaller last year. I don't know what happened to my body as I'm gaining and gaining for some strange reason. No junk food snacks in the house[except for popcorn]only eat that on Saturday night. Have fruits & veggies. Thyroid was check, along with wheat allergy's ,all is ok. Even on a 1200 calorie menu. You're thinking positive, and you get to that size ten.Sorry for whining.
I hope y'all don't mind me jumping in on this thread. I really need something to keep me going and it seems the more threads I get into the more motivated I am.
I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 203, I'm not going to change my ticker until Friday, which is my weigh in day. Lets hope it sticks! I'm going to Myrtle Beach on the 18th and would LOVE to be under 200 before I go. Last year I was 193 when I went We can do it!
That IS weird!!! lol We're going the 18th-25th, I can't wait! Where in NOVA, if you don't mind me asking? I'm between the Woodbridge and Fairfax areas.
Ok, weirder and weirder! I'm in Lorton! We're going to Myrtle from 17th to 25th staying at Pirateland Campground! I can't wait, I'm ready for vacation this year!
Hi I thought I would jump in on this one, weighed this morning at 153.8 Have put back on 20lbs since last year. Not happy with it, but truly ready to get rid of it. Started back on my treadmill yesterday, felt great! I use to run every morning so that is now going to happen again daily.
Today is my first day calorie counting, and plan on 1300 daily. I will treat my calories like a bank account. what I dont use I will add to the days I know we eat out(normally fri. and sat.) Also the reverse applys If I eat to many calories then The negative balance will be deducted from the next days alotment. Also every Wed. starts a new week, so does my calorie bank. No extras and hopefully no negatives go forward. We shall see at the end of the month.
I would be very happy to lose at least 5 lbs a month.
Cheryl
Hey Everyone! I'm pretty new to the board but thought i'd jump in this discussion thread.
So ive been on a pretty good role now for about the past 6 weeks or so. I got a personal trainer and we work out twice a week. I go to the gym at least 5, usually 6 days a week doing cardio, strength, and some classes. The past 6 weeks have gotten a bit frustrating at times because I have really changed my diet (1250 calories per day, trainer recommended), and working out a lot. However I haven't seen as quick of pound results as I guess I expected. I have definately improved in my tone, strength, endurance, and some inches, but it always feels good to see that scale move!!
But so far so good, I feel more determined than ever to keep working hard and things seems to get easier as I go My trainer said it take 6-8 weeks for my body to adjust and I should start seeing even more result soon if I keep it up!
Just had a thunderstorm but I can still hear the bummers in the back ground.
Want to wish DMNEWMAN, JOVIMOM ,CHERYL & CSU Welcome to the chat.
DMNEWMAN-I want to get some of this weight off of me before I go away next Saturday on vacation.I find that counting calories without being on any diet finds me less deprived. I just watch my portions by eating out of one of those froz entree trays. Have a great time at Myrtle Beach,I have never been there.
JOVIMOM -You're probably lost. I like counting calories over any other way. I used the ww point system too. Thanks for reminding me I have to get on the bike right after I finish posting.
CHERYL-OH!!! I like your idea of banking calories and than withdrawing them when needed days later. That almost sound like the old WW point system.I just might use that system myself.I'm on the 1300 calorie count also. I gained in the first half of the year, its about time that the 2nd half should be better.
CSU-I'm sure you will lose if that what your trainer tells you. You probably building muscle and with them, muscles burns more calories. That's where I'm confused. Some of the woman on another calorie counting board to me to go down to 1200 and I did for the month of June with only to find a gain all month. Now I upped the CC to 1300 for July and see if that will help.
MELWOLFE-You'll be off that plate soon, you just came home from vacation and it take time for the body to adjust.
Hello everyone! Happy July 1st. It's insane how time flies by. Even though it says my join date is june of 2008 I still haven't really started a weight loss plan yet....and to think, if i'd have started when I joined here I probably would already be at goal! ugh.....
My biggest struggle is I don't want to start until I have a SET plan and I like to have everything organized and all my info together. So I"ve been reading "winning by losing" by jillian michaels and I think I am going to go with calorie counting because I've tried everything else and it hasn't worked with me. I just get so lost when it comes to FOOD. I never know what to buy at the grocery store and i'm always obsessing as to whether it's the healthiest choice or not. I'm not too creative when it comes to cooking either. So my healthy meals turn out to be bland most of the times....I really just need to set a day each week where I plan out my meals and what not
It's going to be a challenge because I'm such a disorganized person! But I think a bit of structure will do me good.
I think I am going to be over for the day due to eating too much between midnight and 4 then only sleeping 6 hours instead of my usual 10-12. I only have 30 calories left, and another 6 hours till it resets.
