Wink Hi

Hi everyone.

I want to start a new life style! I am 37 and my wt is 240. I want to lose about 80lbs. I have PCOS. I just feel so fat and useless I want to feel better. I DONT like to exercise and I dont plan too, but I plan tO working in my garden (which makes me sweat) and taking the steps and parking further away when I go to work and the store. I live on a small farm so I am always moving.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome!

I don't like to exercise either so I can relate! LOL Working in your garden sounds like fun. It can be great exercise too.

There are so many ways you can follow. Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers etc., and my personal favorite, Calorie Counting! Research them all and find out which one is right for you.

Everyone on the forum is supportive no matter which path you decide to go. We're all in this together!

Hi InDecember, welcome! I was not an exerciser either--hated it--but the more I read, the more I learned that it really is important, especially as you age. (I just turned 48.) So I went to the "Chicks Up for a Challenge" sub-forum and made myself sign up for the April Exercise Challenge, setting a personal goal to walk or bike for 45 minutes each day. Now I am involved in the May Exercise Challenge, and I have cut back walking to 30 minutes a day and added strength training 3 times a week! And I've joined the Y! It's still pretty mind-blowing to me, but the inspiration on this site is amazing! Gardening is good exercise and parking farther distances to get in more walking is a good idea too, but don't be surprised if you end up deciding to do more, because you'll only be helping yourself in the long run! Good luck in your weight loss efforts!
