and i still don't feel 100% comfortable dipping my calories down by 100 so, i want to tell you my story and get some feedback from a couple of people.
i am 5'6 and started off at 233 lbs on december 27 of last year. as of today i weigh 216 lbs.
i eat anywhere from 1650 cals a week to 1750.. by that i mean in the beginning i was doing 1750 and naturally craved less food so, i made 1650 barely and that was forcing myself to eat more after i was already full. in the very beginning i was walking 5 to 6 times a week and then started incorporating the biggest loser cardio max dvd and walk off pounds power mile when i got bored of the park. ( i still walked at the park my usual 2 miles a couple times a week but it was too cold) last week i only did 4 days a week because i was feeling some pain in my knee.
so, for the past week and a half i haven't lost any weight.
so do you guys think i should try to drop my calorie intake to 1550? that seems kind of low for a person of my weight no?
i calorie cycle also.
while i weigh 216 lbs, i am kind of muscley i am not sure if that matters?
not sure if it matters but here is a current pic of me to give you an idea of my body type
thanks for your help guys and sorry if i'm being annoying with all these questions and my worry lol
I'm obsessive about things too, and asked the same kinds of questions when I was getting started, too. Don't you worry about people thinking you are annoying - everyone is here to learn and support.
You may be eating a little lower than you could for your current weight and exercise level, yes. I was eating around 1350 when I was actively losing and exercising 5-6 days per week, but kept losing up to 1850 and 118. You might try increasing your calories a little to see what happens. I don't know if I would lower more yet, want to leave room to play with as you get closer to goal.
How recently did you change your exercise program? I noticed that when I changed my exercise I would generally carry 2-5 pounds of water weight for up to two weeks before it settled back out.
And, I would also say that this process isn't always linear - you may lose every week for a while, then go a couple where you don't lose or even gain, then you will start losing again. So, don't panic - a week and a half isn't that long a time in the big picture. I do know it is frustrating, though! Hang in there.
Ok, first, I'm not an expert, but I also think you may not be eating enough. I'm eating around 1600 average each day by calorie cycling and still losing slowly, BUT I'm much shorter than you and do NO exercising at this time-(bad for me, I know, but that's just my life right now). So, since you do work off quite a bit of what you are taking in, you just may need to take in some more calories to amp up your metabolism and keep burning. And, you're definitely not annoying. It's good to ask questions-that's what we're all here for!
You look like you're in good shape! Those workout must be great!
I don't know what to suggest--you could try lowering your calories or raising them, but whichever you do, go for a couple of weeks before deciding whether it's working.
I wonder whether you're getting enough protein with the foods you list. This is often a hard place for vegetarians. I also wonder whether your calorie count is correct... do you used a tracker like Fitday, or paper and pencil?
Keep going! You're doing really well! It could be just a little stall.

i'm using the daily plate and thank you
i also try to eat alot of veggie dogs which are high in protein, but i might try and up my protein by adding a bit more beans? i only really like black though lol.
as far as subway goes.. i'm going by the calories on the daily plate which coincide with subways website.
From what I've seen and read, you probably should try to up your calories a bit and see if that works. I know a lot of people in your size that don't work out at all and are losing a good bit with the calorie range you gave us.
Something you might want to take a look at is to replace the processed foods with real foods. You are getting a lot of sodium in there with the veggie dogs, Subway and all the other meat analogs. Some people stall out when eating a lot of soy.
Try subbing beans (low sodium if using canned). Lentils are really quick to cook and you can made a big batch up to eat from during the week.
If you aren't vegan, try adding some eggs in there for fat and protein.

thanks for this advice. You are right.. I was worried I was getting too much sodium!
Not Vegan (yet) but, scared of eggs due to food poisoning once.
I agree, too much sodium and not enough fruits and veg. How much protein does the daily plate say you are getting daily? If you are getting in the 15%-20% range, then you are fine.
I eat very little meat and I don't care for fake meat either. Since you aren't vegan, maybe incorporate some dairy as well as, beans, whole grains, and nuts. Regardless, definitely get in more veggies!
at looking at my daily plate.. it looks like I dropped it down by 100-200 cals those 2 weeks I was not losing so, I am going to take it back up to 1700 and see how that goes.. I wish i could get over this fear th ough of eating TOO much

I know how you feel...I upped my cals a month ago to 2000 (workout days) / 1800 (no workout). I'll just adjust them when the weight loss slows down again, I'll prob have to drop them this time (which sucks bc I like to eat ) Anyway, I was freaked but I've stuck with it for a month and it worked...I started to lose weight again. I workout like nuts so I needed more food. Give it a try for a week or two and see what happens, look you can always eat less if it doesn't work out.
