Hi There I am Carrie Just turned 40 and have been a Yoyo dieter all my life..I was bulimic in the 80's and recieved help..But now I am on the other end..I Love good food. I have grown into an incredible cook.My waist has grown with becoming a good cook. I had done Atkins successfully and was down to a size 5...l am now back to a twelve. I am thinking of finding a good therapist to help me from self sabotage(last year I lost 20 then promptly regained it) and with lingering self esteem issues.I am also going vegetarian then to vegan for my own health reasons so Atkins is off the table now. South Beach I could never get the hang of, so I am not sure what to do.
I have begun my walking again, and that is something I love.
If anyone has other suggestions I would greatly appreciate any and all input.
Thank you so much in advance

Hello from another 40 year old yoyo dieter. I think the veggie chicks are a perfect place for you. You are welcome anywhere you like, but if you are considering veg/vegan, these chicks are for you! Have you considered Eat To Live? It's a pretty big lifestyle change, and not for everybody, but I've read a lot of ETL success stories.

If you have questions about anything, please do feel free to ask!!

MEENAMOM ~ I agree that the Vegetarian/Vegan section would be best for you if you want to stay away from meat. The key will be trying to find enuff protein from what I hear: nuts and seeds are a great source, just watch the amounts. Not everyone likes tofu, but you may; low cal protein sources such as beans & legumes; whole grains; tuna, chicken, salmon, fish if you are quasi; cheese and eggs: but as a vegan that will go too. One step at a time may be best. I think portion control no matter which plan you are on is important.

Anyways, look around ~ lots of great people and ideas here ...

Default Help! I've fallen an can't get up.

Hi Everyone! My name is Kathy and I'm 45 years old. Over a year ago I lost 55lbs with LA Weight Loss. I felt great and liked myself. Needless to say I have gained it all back but 2lbs. This past year my husband and I started Weight Watchers and I lost 10 lbs, but I haven't kept up with it. I currently weight 244lbs and feel miserable. I wear a size 22 and would love to be a size 12.

I really need to lose weight for my own health. My Dad has had a heartattack and my Mom's side of the family has health problems too. Sincce gaining weight I have problems with my knees and have a hard time walking up steps. I need all the encouragement I can get. I need to look at this as a life style change a not a diet. I would be very happy to become friends with many of you and to be able to support one another.

May we all be successful in our journey.
