Angry Feeling disconnected, and having a new hatred for ice.

So, I live in upstate New York and we had the worst ice storm on Thursday. I lost power from 1am Thursday and just got it back today!!! I ate crap all weekend because I couldn't cook. And I didn't lose any weight this week!

Not to mention, I feel so lost on this forum! I was craving my internet and this forum all weekend. Thats when it occured to me how much I need to check in and read posts everyday to keep me motivated!

I'm glad to be back, and boy do I have a lot of reading to do to catch up!! Hopefully the power will stay on so I can have an easier time stay OP this week!!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Yep, ice storm here too, but we didn't lose electricity. What a drag to be without it for so long. I keep a few weight loss books around to motivate me when I can't get online. I need the support.

It sure was quiet around here this weekend. Now I understand why!! Big parts of our country were without power! Brrrrrr....ice storms and power outages are no fun!

I'm glad you are back!!

We got snow and ice, but luckily kept our power. My sister lost hers for a day.

Digging out the driveway sucked because the snowblower couldn't handle the heavy wet snow, so it had to be done by hand! Lots o' calories burned, though!

Oh that bites!!!!

No ice storm here but it's -30 Celsius THEN windchill on top of that. It's freaking cold.

You must be in Northern BC then. I'm in the Yukon and we are about -33 celcius today and have been all week. I'm glad to see someone so close to me on here. I usually never see anyone from this side of Canada on the boards I frequent.

I feel your hatred for ice Qtest! We're getting some freezing rain in OH right now (although nowhere near as bad as you had it!). It almost stopped me from going to the gym, but I went outside, scraped my car and did 20 mph all the way to the gym, haha. I was there for an hour and when I came out, I had to scrape off my car all over again!

I'm glad you got your power back, I remember in September when ours got knocked out due to Hurricane Ike and I hate junk and was crabby for three days. Not having power was like camping in a fancy tent...and I hate camping, lol.

Glad your back though! And to you Canadian girls...I don't know how you do it... I would be whining so hardcore if it was that cold here!

Thanks foxxy! I'm with you on the camping thing. We bought a generator just to keep the house warm and to take a few carefully planned showers.

I don't know how they do it in Canada either, I would be so crabby all of the time. I get really crabby when I'm cold!

I think you just get used to it! I was born and raised here. I left for a couple of years for school but I'm back and the winters don't usually bother me too bad unless I'm out in the cold, cold weather. But with temps this cold -20 now seems warm!
