Default What's Your Reward?

This has possibly already been discussed many times on here, but does anyone else have a reward (or indeed many rewards) for once they reach their goal weight? It's something that truly makes me want to lose weight, and makes me realise that what I've got to gain by losing is so much better than what I've got to lose by gaining!

A few years ago I came into quite a lot of money, the vast majority of which I'm saving to buy a house with in the future. However, I have kept aside £10,000 (around $20,000) which I will spend on a MASSIVE shopping spree once I reach my ultimate goal. I figure once I reach goal I'll want to stay at my goal, so I might as well splurge on some amazing clothes.

However, I intend to work out some smaller rewards from when I reach smaller goals.

Mine would have to be a shopping spree! I'll probably go over to the states and shop until I drop... (they have cheap brand names in the states, well cheaper then in Canada)

Wow... $20k sure is a massive shopping spree! Good for you!!
I want SO badly to reward myself with food - there's so much tasty food out there!! But I won't.
I love to travel. I'm saving for my big dream vaca touring Europe. I'd love to do it at a size 8. In my more immediate future is a honeymoon (cruise? Sandals? BOTH?!?) and a wedding which are huge motivators. Just gotta get the guy to pop the question...
Day or weekend trips are good rewards for mini-goals achieved, I plan on doing a few of those.

<digress> I love James Avery. Our wedding rings were JA. </digress>

Honestly my reward is being healthier and looking better. I know that sounds terribly pompous, but it's the truth. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to buy new clothes that fit and try on cute things and I used to think that going on a huge splurge for a new wardrobe would be fantastic. However, I'm finding as I go along that I'm buying clothes here and there because I *need* them ... and I just can't see that I'll want to splurge on a new wardrobe by the time I'm done.

But I am enjoying more than I ever imagined I would being thin and looking good. I never thought that being thin in and of itself would feel like such a reward to me .. but it does. Every day.

So jealous PhotoChick! I'm sure once I'm down to the sort of amazing progress you've made, I'll have similar feelings, but for now, the thought of a beautiful new wardrobe is the thing most keeping me away from huge binges. I live for fashion and love clothes, and it breaks my heart to not be able to wear the things I want to

I do rings. Not ones worth millions. About $200 For every 5kg i go buy a ring. something I can wear everyday and can see. I find they are a good warning sign if I start getting too big again or too much water weight going on. As they tend to get a bit tight.
20k is one **** load of money!!!! I would be saving it for the house.

When I reach goal I'm going to get myself a fantastic wardrobe. I have rather expensive taste, but I've never been able to justify the kind of stuff I want because I was always waiting to "lose a few pounds." It totally thrills me that I'll be able to buy all kind of awesome clothes, as I'll be able to justify the cost for something that I can wear for years.

My parents are putting aside a dollar per pound I lose. Which is neat because when i hit my goal I get cash!! To use to buy an outfit!!

Once I hit my goal body, not necessarily a weight I'm going to get a muscle car. A Stingray!

My husband and I have both always wanted one, long before we met. We agreed that when I'm a muscle girl I/we should get a muscle car. Won't that be utterly charming?

I imagine it's going to take a loooo-oong time.

This is all very new to me, I have just been so consumed with motherhood and my family that I have let myself go and I never spend money on myself. I am always spending money on my 3 year old or my husband. So the first mini goal I reach I will gladly be shopping for myself something nice.

My reward isn't so much a material thing as it is a life that I've been wanting to live. I turn 40 on Sunday, and in the life-review that comes with it, I've realized that there are a lot of things in life that I haven't been able to do because of my weight. So...this is the start of what I call "JoAnne 2.0". My reward is a promise kept...a promise that I'll spend the next 40 years doing what I want to do in life. The immediate things on my list are:

1) Wear my Route 66-Flagstaff T-Shirt that is now too small.
2) Climb Airport Mesa (In Sedona) by myself, then stay to watch the sun set.
3) Kayak and scuba in Monterey Bay.
4) Hike in Flagstaff and Sedona without having to check the trail and make sure it's a "super easy" one.
5) Take another trip down Route 66, but this time being able to explore and climb everything I want to.

So, in essence, my reward is "Carpe Diem", not "Carpe Oreo".

my rewards to myself are in my siggy.

~massage (i have a gift card that'll cover part of it. it's staring at me from my bookshelf saying "hurry up.....") haha
~2 new purses (I *love* purses. and they have all sorts of cute ones at Target right now that i'd love to have. Or it'll be one expensive-ish purse)
~Shopping spree. and not just everyday clothes...i want to buy nice clothes too. More inspiration for me to keep the weight off.

I feel the same way. I am loving the energy that working out and loosing some weight has given me. i love the fact that me and my hubby will love a long life together.

But i will be buying some new clothes to fit my nice new body....lol.
(it will also feel like a new wadrobe when i am able to fit the "smal" clothes that are in my closet now)
