It's not george...:-)
I get that a lot. I am a geographer, well I am currently a doctorate student in geography. That is what the geog comes from.
I think for me it was becoming an 'aware' or 'mindful' eater. People talking about weight loss use those terms a lot. I think that 'mindful' eating has two main components. One is food choices and the second (which is more what we are talking about here) is just paying more attention to eating itself. I was very 'mindless' with my eating, just shoving food in. And if you shove fast enough you don't even give your body time to let you know that it is full. So just keeping in mind that you want to be aware of eating while your eating will help.
The second thing is just practice and retraining yourself. You know don't get down if your not eating slower all the time. Set it as a goal. Maybe you will be half way through a meal then slow down, that is still good, and also drinking before a meal helps fill you up a bit so you don't just attack the food.
Larry NOT george :-)
