Default Hello From One Fat Chick In The UK #13

Just had to start a new one thread, gotta try setting up a link from the old one. Changed the name slightly to reflect that we are a nation wide group - hope nobody minds - just my little quirks & believe me I'm full of them.

Placement or no placement Veggie I still think it's good.

You taking the Mick ?

Or should that be the Mick, the John, the Jimmy or the Gareth (is that a Welsh name???) Just had to keep up or national flow and not be unfair to the Irish with just mentioning Micks. This is getting bad - think I need to go put the kids to bed & become sensible again.

Morning, one and all - and what a horrible, miserable, ROTTEN day it is! Its raining torrents and the wind is bitterly cold coming in horizontally with more than a hint of ice in it. And the Visa card bill arrived in the post! Wooppee Do!!!

Yes, Carol, thats me bidding for the Pilates video. The physio at the hospital had me doing some Pilates exercises when I tore a muscle in my jelly belly just after I had my hysterectomy and they really seemed to work to reduce the pain and strengthen the muscle a bit - but its just started twinging again, after having been pain free for 9 months!! The Pilates worked better for me than either acupuncture and hypnosis did although I can't imagine how!! I have also got pains in my legs and back at the moment (probably all the walking) so I am hoping Pilates might be able to help with those as well.

I wish you luck with the Geri yoga video, I have got the Barbara Currie one and I think it would have done some good if I could have persuaded myself to persevere with it - I did it every day for about a fortnight when I first got it and I could feel a difference, I REALLY could, but somehow one Monday I didn't feel like doing it and have never done it again since!

My rebounder is due to arrive on Monday - yippee! Could those of you with rebounders give me a bit of advice on a few basic exercises (make them easy ones please) - I don't think I have got the inner courage (or Visa card balance) to start the search for the cardio bounce video just yet!!

Veggie - that placement sounds like a job made in heaven to me - I can't imagine anything more interesting than doing that kind of work. Then, if you get some free time, you can pop in to the Court and enjoy some of the best free entertainment in the World!! I used to really LOVE doing that - but I don't live near a Court any more!!!!

BTW, Veggie - I was on MSN for a long time yesterday and you never showed as being on line - even when I could see from 3FC that you were on line...... The problem is that my Brother in Law is in love with MSN and if he seems me on line then I get stuck chatting to him, so I don't show myself as being 'online' very much

Good morning everyone, TGI Friday Thought I'd try to post a bit more regularly instead of just reading all the threads, the regular posters all seem to be doing very well.

Well done on losing another 3lbs Mel, you are doing really well. I am so looking forward to breaking the 200 barrier!

Does anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? I am having an aromatherapy facial tomorrow (whatever an aromatherapy facial is, it was a Christmas gift!) and at some point I shall have to try out my new Tae Bo video which arrived a week ago and has been gathering dust since.

No big exciting plans for the weekend. I will be fitting in a couple of workouts as I have been slipping this week. And hopefully on Saturday night we’re off to visit friends for a couple of hours. Only problem with that is too much booze will be consumed, but I have a plan up my sleeve. I’m going to offer to be the driver, that way I can’t drink anything stronger than coffee – which I hate. So will drink all her kids diluting blackcurrant juice – which I adore.

Enjoy the facial Phoebe. Keep going and you will break that 200 mark

Mornin' all

Well my cardio bounce video arrived and I watched it - wow it looks really strenuous, I'm going to do it tonight when the kids are in bed. DH thinks I may fall off it if I go at the speed they are!!

I've not had such a good week since Tuesday when I'd lost 3lbs. I've weighed myself and it seems to be showing a gain of half a pound but I know I shouldn't keep weighing myself but I tell you what; it's making me have a good day today I've not been around much as dh had his surgery (large birth mark removed from his back) on Monday and I've been ferrying him back and forwards to work and with the girls as well I've not had any time to eat sensibly or get on here to read everyones mail. I see that I've been made politically correct now and I'm from the UK and not England any longer. I didn't mean to offend anyone when I started the thread in July of last year, I just felt very lonely "speaking" to people from all over the world and I thought it would get me noticed when I posted my first thread.

Went to Salsa last night and danced my feet off and it was snowing when we were coming home at 10.15pm - when will it be summer????

Phoebe I hope you enjoy your facial - it sounds lovely.

Veggie - how about we swap lives for a while - I'll go bowling and do your placement and you look after dh, kids, rabbit etc ??

Like Flumper I too will have a w/end which is dictated by the kids , Sprog #1 has swimming lesson at 8am and then she's got a party 11.30-1.30 so that's pretty much most of the day gone!! Its MIL (from ****, sorry Sarah I nicked that bit) birthday tomorrow she's 60 (she doesn't look a day over 70 ) I think I'm going to do the "C" word and cook - she's too embarrassing to be seen out in public with, I know I don't usually do the "C" word but I'm getting desperate - maybe I'll nip up to M&S and get a load of lovely stuff and pass it off as mine.....

Just back from my walk. As it started raining & it is absolutely Baltic out there I only walked round the park once. But one mile on my exercise log is going to look better than nothing and any kind of exercise is doing me good.

Am counting the hours now until it is time to go home.

WELL DONE ON THE PLACEMENTS, VEGGIE!!!!

Tell us more! How long do they last? Could they lead to permanent?? Oh... WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!

This weather is AWFUL! I popped in to the next village - and got soaked. I walked George - and got soaked. I walked just a couple of hundred yards to this daft coffee morning - and got soaked - AND I got soaked on the way back home! Now there's sleet coming down!
