Default Vacation...HELP!!!

Okay...so I"m thrilled to be going on a 2 week vacation, but am beginning to panic a smidge about staying on plan. I just started into PH2 on Monday. I'll be going to Alaska and moving around lots...I don't think I stay in the same hotel twice. I plan on going to a grocery the first night to get some whole wheat bread and sandwich stuff, but what other suggestions do ya'll have? Any suggestions for breakfast foods to bring/buy, snacks for the plane ride and for the long car rides each day? Just curious....thanks for any suggestions!!!

Snacks -- cheese sticks are good if you can keep them cool (maybe an ice pack?), nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc.) will travel well, and again, if you can keep them cool, you could buy a bunch of veggies on your first day there, chop them up, then put them in a big ziploc bag or mini ziploc bags to take along with you.

Be careful about bringing the icepack on the plane. They could confiscate it (liquids).

Where in Alaska are you going to be? (*Currently going to school there!*) There are a lot of health food stores here, which are top notch considering everything has to be flown up.

Hey Eskinomad.....we're flying into Anchorage, then up to Denali, Girwood, Seward and around that area, then back to Anchorage...we're there for 10 days I think. Any tips on what to do/see while there??

A lot of grocery stores now also offer hard boiled eggs that are already cooked. That may be an option for breakfast/snacks. With all the fresh seafood up there, you should be in great shape in restaurants..just ask for fish or prawns etc (well, that's what they called shrimp when I lived in Wa!) and veggies, salads etc. The salmon should be fantastic.

Have a great trip!! BTW, have you checked out the new Piggly Wiggly yet? My big adventure for this afternoon will be going there...woooooo!

Ugh. I hope it isn't anything like the PW's here. They are overpriced and gross!

Have a great trip, Mandy!

Many grocery stores offer pre-cut veggies and fruits, a bit more expensive...but totally worth it convenience wise.
