Angry Here I go again

Well, I started last year, and I have since gained back everything I lost . I do know what I did wrong, and I also know I can't continue this yo-yo pattern. So I started again Monday of this week. I am starting with eating 1500-1600 calories aday. I am using fitday to track my calories. Anyone else in there upper 40's following calorie counting. I here the older you get the harder it is to lose weight. I just hope I am able to loose about 45 lbs. What does everyone think.

I am 52, and it does get harder. It used to be that I'd reduce my calories and immediately drop a lot of weight. Now it's an uphill struggle, coupled with perimenopausal issues that can drive you bats.

It doesn't help to have a sedentary desk job, either.

Hi Wilma.
I'm 47 and I can't believe how much my body as been changing and I'm just gaining and gaining where I never had before. Especially around my mid-section, now on my arms and the back is starting..auuughhhh....
Now...if I could ONLY get back on track and not eat 24 hours a day..

Good luck!!

It sure has gotten harder for me to lose weight I know that! I know that I can't look at the 45 pounds i want to lose it upsets me to much. I have decided to do this weight loss in 10 pound increments and see how that works. I know you can do though, just might take a little more time then it used to.

You can do it! Don't think about easier or harder, because you are where you are. Just keep going until you get there, and then work to stay there!

Hey slimnup -- I'm right there with ya. I'm on my third time losing the exact same weight. Don't know why I thought I could lose wt (never did reach my goal) then just eat whatever I wanted without gaining it back. Guess I was just being a DUH! I'm paying attention this time around -- cause this is the last time I'm doing this. Right there w/ya on the age thing too. No matter what I've ever done, I still average 1 lb/wk loss.

Try not to think about the fact that you've gained the wt back. As soon as that scale starts moving down you'll get your mojo back. Just try and remember how you feel NOW -- write it down, take a picture -- and draw on that when you hit bumps in the road. You can do it this time -- we all can!!

From what I have heard from some maintainers, they pretty much said that they have to continue the behavior they had while they were losing weight in order to maintain their weight loss.

In my opinion, once a loser always a loser (when it comes to weight that is!) If you have been able to lose weight in the past, you just need to tap into that strong will that you found before and get back into that state of mind! You can do it!!!

I like that: once a loser always a loser! Good point, because you KNOW you can do it!
