How many of you have had the Gardasil shots? Have you experienced any side effects?
I didnt think of this until recently. All of my daughter Mikaela's health problems started in early August. She got the 1st Gardasil shot in mid July. She got the last one in mid January. Her problems are still continuing.
Is there a connection between the two? I dont know.
I saw this on a legal website:
Merck has claimed that Gardasil is practically side effect free, with pain at the injection site being the most common complaint about the vaccine. However, a 2007 Judicial Watch analysis of the FDA’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System reveals that Gardasil has not been as side effect free as Merck claims.
Since its approval, there have been at least 3,461 complaints of adverse reactions to the Gardasil vaccine, and there could have been as many as eight deaths attributable to Gardasil.
HPV Vaccination Side Effects:
pain, swelling, redness, or itching where the shot was given (injection site)
nausea
vomiting
dizziness
fainting
allergic reactions including hives and rash
Guillain-Barre Syndrome
seizures
paralysis
Bells Palsy
blood clots
Our Gardasil side effect attorneys believe that even these Gardasil adverse event reports could be underestimating the true number of serious Gardisil side effect incidents that have actually occurred. For that reason, we are seeking to speak with anyone who experienced serious Gardasil side effects.
What do y'all think I should do? Talk with her doctor first? Talk with a lawyer?
I definitely think you should talk to the doctor first. Her health problems might not even be related to the vaccine, it could be entirely something different. And if you don't like/trust what the doctor says, get a second opinion before dragging lawyers in.
I've done my research on the Gardasil vaccine (I wrote a paper on it for Freshman Comp II last spring), and I'm actually considering getting it. The fact that you got the above information from a legal site make me kind of wary. Have you done any other research on it?
Anyway, that's my two cents, and to repeat: I definitely think you should take her to the doctor (maybe two!) before taking any legal action.
Well, I had my 13-year-old daughter have her first shot and I'm going to pass on the last two. Within fifteen minutes, she was white as a sheet and almost passed out. The doctors scrambled to get her off her feet and she had to lay down for about a half hour before she could get up without the spins.
This was followed by an infection at the injection site and stomach pains to the point of not being able to go to school for two weeks. The doctor gave her antibiotics for the infection and prevacid for the stomach ache...which did nothing but GIVE her heartburn on top of the cramping.
She, finally, is back to normal after almost a month. Of course, the doctors refuse to say that this was a bad reaction to the shot, but you can't convince me. We'll be skipping the next two, thank you very much.
I, too, called a lawyer and they told me that they were specifically looking for people with blood clots. Oh, well, as long as she's fine now...I hope this doesn't cause some other complication in the future.
I hate bad reactions to vaccines. All I can think of is how I sat there and held the hand of my perfectly healthy girl while the thing that made her sick was stuck in her arm. If only life had a backspace button.
