caltrac
Several years ago I used a caltrac. You put in your personal data, clip it to your belt/waistband and it tracks the calories burned. Those are the basics anyway. I lost 54 pounds using it. It was nice to know exactly where I stood at the end of the day. It will tell you 'net cals'-- how many more calories you burned than you ate-- so the goal was to get at least 1,000 net cals a day to get 2 pounds a week. amazon.com has it for the least expensive price. ($34) The caltrac website will give you more information, including a virtual tour, but it costs about 20 dollars more to purchase it directly through them. My biggest complaint was that the clip that held it onto my pants would break if I wasn't careful. I just had to watch how I bent down to pick stuff up. It was worth it and you can order additional clips on the caltrac website, although I didn't find their costumer service to be that great. I need to get mine on!!
Someone at work uses the Bodybugg with great success. (like on The Biggest Loser. She can download her information onto her computer. (I just had a chart for my caltrac information.) I looked it up and the site I found sells it for $399.00, I only looked at one site, though.
Hope that helps!
