Been working on a diet since about October. Did really well for a while and then I let the holidays derail me. Still I'm down about 12 pounds from my starting weight.

Trying to do this by eating better, exercising more, and just living healthier. My sister and mother are WW devotees, but it just hasn't worked for me. I hate trying to tally points weigh and measure everything. I would rather eat less visually and eat things that I know are better for me without all the fuss.

About me: I'm a 27 year old single mother. I have one beautiful daughter. She is 2 1/2 years old and the light of my life. I work full time in a mental health clinic ( the constant drug rep lunches do not help my goals), I have been dating the same man for almost 3 years and yes we did meet while I was pregnant with the kiddo

Not much else to tell. Just trying to find a community to help support me in my goals.

Hey MissAmel, and Congrats on the 12 lb loss so far!

"Eat better, move more" is sort of the basis for what most of us do here, though we do have plenty of people (myself included) who keep count of -something- as well, whether it be calories, points, etc. If you are losing without tracking, though, more power to you.

Have you visited the "Whole Foods Lifestyle" forum? It might be a good fit with your "eat better" goal, depending on what sort of foods you consider to be the ones you "know are better for you". You might also want to visit the "Exercise" forum - we have a great accountability thread going there that might be good for you to check in on...it's wonderful for keeping yourself on track with your exercise plans.

Most of all, keep posting! Can't wait to see you around soon.

Hello Missamel and Sounds like you have a good plan (eat right & exercise) so stick with it now that the holidays are behind you. Good luck! Look forward to seeing you around

Hi, Missamel, and !

I've personally found that keeping track of something like calories or points makes things easier, but if you don't feel like it, more power to ya! I've heard some people in the health industry say that if you eat healthily (lots of fruits and veggies, lean proteins, and legumes), you don't need to count calories as long as you eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full.

Default Thanks everyone

Thanks for the welcome.

My main problem has always been eating out of boredom when I am not really hungry. Then not exercising.

Hopefully I can correct these two things without counting. Did I mention I'm bad at math
