Default Popping Chest or Sternum, anyone?

Hi, I know that...YOU ARE NOT MEDICAL EXPERTS AND I'M NOT SEEKING MEDICAL ADVICE.......

But, with that said, has anyone experienced like a tight or sore sternum that actually "pops" (like popping a joint, or a knuckle) when you stretch your arms back or out? I only ask because when I googled cracking my sternum, I ended up on a bodybuilding.com forum that described something very similar and a chiro described it as a condition with a name. I have no cough or other symptoms and it feels great when I pop it. But sometimes it will get sore/tight or hurt if I cough, and it's immediately relieved if I stretch. Weird, no? I figured someone else had experienced it too. And yeah, you can hear/feel it do a little pop.

Oh Ick. Just kidding. No Fran, that's probably the only place my bones don't creak as of yet.

Lydia, I was about to type the same thing.

Fran, I have never heard of what you are describing. Can you make us a youtube video?

Seriously, if you think it's a problem, talk to your doctor or a physiotherapist! (You knew that was the answer, right?)

How about intercostal condronitis? BTW you should see a pro to make sure.

I had a flare up years ago and just about creeped from fear ... chest pain!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I popped something in my neck/bottom corner of my skull sorta thing. The chiropractor worked out my shoulders which were super tight. When I told him that I'd hurt my neck while stretching and yawning that morning, he stated that sometimes women with stoopy tight shoulders pop something in their chest when they do that.
This was a reminder to me to strengthen not only my upper back but my chest as well.

BTW ... you still need to have that checked out.

Mine cracks, but I've never had pains. I'm a dancer, and whenever we have a move where we arch our backs and tilt our heads back, it cracks. My dance teacher has that problem too...weird! LOL. I don't know about the pains though, so I can't help you with that. It's never caused any real problems or pain for me, so I haven't gone to the doctor at all...I just figured it's normal for some people.
