Default V-8 and Cereal?

Maybe I missed something in my book...But just making sure it is ok to have V-8 juice? And what kind of Cereal do you girls like? I know it MUST be really high fiber...but most of them taste like card-board. Any suggestions?

V-8 is ok for all phases. I like Fiber One for a cereal. It is a little sweet. Kashi-Go Lean is also good.

Yes, V-8 is fine. For cold cereals, I like to mix Fiber One and Kashi Go Lean and Kashi Good Friends together. Oatmeal is my favorite hot cereal.
Remember to look for cereal with less than 8 grams of sugar, and the higher the fiber, the better.

Cold cereal used to be my favorite breakfast, but I rarely eat it now because I haven't found one that meets our criteria that I like much. Also, it doesn't keep me full as long as a higher protein breakfast. I find if I lay down my food base for the day with a substantial breakfast, the whole day goes much smoother food-wise. I do drink a glass of V-8 almost every day- but just the vegetable juice, not those mixed veggie-fruit fusion things.

LOL! Eeeeewwwww...Fiber One with a splash of V-8. Yeah..I just looked and my book is from 2003. It does not list V-8...but I am glad I saw it on a list here..I love V-8.

Tomorrow is my start day! Looking to get 15 pounds OFF in 10 weeks..that would put me at Christmas Eve. I think it is do-able!

I'm a Fiber One freak, too. It's a tiny bit cinnamon-y and a tiny bit sweet with a good crunch.

My "treat" cereals are Weight Watchers Vanilla Puffed Wheat (it has Splenda and berry flavor too...I have to buy this sparingly as I *will* eat the whole box if no one is watching! ) and a cereal made by Erewhon: Crisped Brown Rice (basically Rice Krispies made from brown rice without the sugar). You'd be surprised how good plain shredded wheat can be...and you can also have Cheerios (plain only). I add dried fruit (no sugar) to my cereal...dried Goji berries are my favorite, but I use all sorts of tiny pieces of dried fruit or fresh fruit, like berries or a medium banana. That really makes the cereal taste good!

However, I second Schmoodle. While Oatmeal, made with milk, has enough protein to get me through the day if I eat it for breakfast, plain cereal and milk doesn't. I eat it for a snack. It has enough complex carbs (in the cereal and the milk) and protein to make a great "pick-me-up!" I stick with heavier concentrations of protein and veggies for breakfast.
