Welcome! Is "ana" your nickname or does it mean something else to you?

I am concerned that you may have an unhealthy goal. At your height, 110 pounds would put you in an unsafe and underweight category. You are actually at a "healthy" weight right now, most likely, going by the standard measures, anyway.

Welcome Ana and good luck. As a musician I know the physical requirements of our lines of work and I know that if you've joined 3fc you have the willpower to reach your goal. Keep us posted on how things go

Hi Jessica,

Boy, I know that the pressure on ballet dancers to be tiny is really high. That being said, at a goal weight of 110 lbs, I'm not sure you'd have enough strength/muscle to execute some of the movements that require lots of strength (of which there are PLENTY in ballet). It would be hard for you to get to a weight that low (a BMI of 17.2...18.5 is considered the bottom of the "healthy" category) without losing lots of muscle and strength, which wouldn't be great for your dancing.

If you're looking to tone up or get down to the low-end of your healthy range, there is plenty of advice here, but you might want to re-evaluate your goal weight. For your height, a healthy weight is considered a minimum of 119 lbs.
