morning all..well i guess my weight gain last week must have been bloating...because i'm down those 2 lbs pluse one more this week ...and trust me, i wasn't the best in the eating department on sat and sun. So i'm happy. Its a good feeling. Hope everyone is having a good morning. Dh and i are going to take the mutt for a hike up the mountain this morning, since its my day off and he doesn't have school until 2. So looking forward to that. I also get a free mini facial today at origins. I bought some face products from them the other day and signed up for one. Its probably not going to be something crazy...but hey its free!
Just a quick post before heading off to the insane assylum. (that would be work) I have an interview after work for a full time management position (Visual Lead) for Coldwater Creek. They are opening a new store in our mall and they really want to talk to me. Keep your fingers crossed. (BTW the interview is at 6pm)
At work today it is Senior Day, which means all the old ladies will have their carts, walkers, or canes and bull over people that are in their ways. I know this to be true because I have almost been run over by them. If I hadn't jumped out of the way.
Just think we are half way to the weekend ~ for those of you who have the weekend off. My next day is the 5th of Oct.
Would you believe my luck? Friday, I came down with the WORST case of strep throat and couldnt get into my dr. until Monday afternoon. By the time I got meds, it was soo painful to swallow that I had tears in my eyes a little. I dont think that I have had strep since I was a kid. Now Ill know how bad it feels when my DD gets it.
Also, after I picked up Bella from school yesterday, I stopped by the shop to chat with the other ladies and check on everything. When I was leaving, I noticed that a customer inside was getting a ticket so I went over to give the meter maid a quarter. Right when I got to her, a HUGE window and casing CRASHED down from the third floor in the alley I was going to be walking in to my car. I mean if I had not stopped, both Bella and I would most likely have been hit by it. I was freaking out, as you can imagine. Either someone is looking out for me or someone is very much out to get me. Hehehe.
So, Im kinda mad. Obviously not eating much (couldnt swallow more that a little soup) and I gained 2 lbs!!!!!! Im thinking TOM is coming and its water weight. But c'mon. A week of practically eating NOTHING, I should NOT see a gain. Where is my being sick loss, damn it!!
On a much brighter note, Bella Boo is soooo excited. She lost her FIRST TOOTH Tuesday. She is growing up so fast. DH made her this cute letter at work from the tooth fairy. We gave her $20 (for the first and last tooth) and a new tooth brush. She was sooo happy this morning. It was adorable. She was jumping up and down. Look what the tooth fairy brought me. Awwwww.
So, I want to thank you all so much for being so supportive during probably the worst time of my life. I got on these boards thinking only of weight loss and had no idea I would be going through a personal tragedy. It has been so hard to actually look in someones eyes and talk about, so its nice to have some support where I can be a little stronger. I am trying to move forward and maintain the best attitude, both for my DD and DH but also to maintain my own sanity. I know this is something I can still and wallow in so Im making every effort not to. I did want to say that I appreciate all your support.
GG ~ excellent news on the weight loss! Your ticker is really moving it's booty these days:-). Enjoy your day off. The weather is gorgeous here today ~ hope that it's the same in your area.
Lisa ~ best of luck with the interview tonight. I like Coldwater Creek's skirts and jackets. They have the most beautiful colors.
Laurie ~ now I'm ticked off for you! Losing weight during sickness is a sweet compensation after feeilng so miserable. That is so NOT fair that you didn't lose any this week. Keep doing what you're doing and check again on Friday. I've completely given up trying to figure out my body as it fluxiates (sp?) so much. I drink so much water that I sometimes wonder if I'm drinking too much? Maybe that is the case with you as well. BTW ~ $20.00!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. That is definitely a different tooth fairy that visits our house LOL:-).

I know that the full moon brings out the nuttiness in people. DS was a complete mess yesterday morning and this morning. He's been doing so well at school and yet the past two days his teacher has sent me e-mail about his behaviour. I'm off to see my mil this morning. I'm dropping off my little one for the two of them to spend the day together. I have one great mil as this was her suggestion. I'm thankful that she's so considerate and appreciative as I know that isn't always the case. Later Gators ~ Joan

Well it is offically hump day! I can't wait for the weekend to get here. I am going home to see my family for the weekend. It is a four hour drive one way. But I think it will be worth it since I haven't been home since Father's Day weekend. I did gain a pound this week. But I guess that is okay since it was TOM last week. Just have to work harder at losing it this coming week.
Laurie I hope you are starting to feel better. Sounds like you have a guardian angel looking out for you and Bella yesterday. $20 is a lot for the tooth fairy to bring. My tooth fairy would bring 25 cents up to a dollar.
GG congrats on the weight loss. Hope you enjoy your day off work. Enjoy getting pampered a little bit this afternoon.

Laurie- try not to stress about the 2 lb wt gain. I had mine last week and i was doing exercise and eating perfect...i think i was bloating. And like i posted it...then next week...lost 2 plus one. So hang in there. Glad to hear you weren't hurt this morning...that's horrible

Kerry, LOL, I think it's just general laziness...I LOVE to sleep and cuddle my pillow and blankets in bed. It's just going to go worse the colder it gets! Yup, I'm lazy...wish I could just sleep til I woke up, then get ready for work.
Joan, Peter's doing great again after switching back to the Methylin. He's eating like a horse. That's a good thing. Now, if I could just get Scooch to eat something other than chicken nuggets, we'd be set!
DH & I have not gotten as much done as we should have by now. He is just getting over Poison Ivy...again. He's allergic to it and has it everywhere. Went to the Dr. for a Cortisone shot a couple days ago and is on Prednisone now for 12 days. My aunt is coming up to help paint this weekend so I told him we've got to get something significant done between now and Sat AM so she doesn't give us a hard time.
Morning ya'll! I have been MIA, but DH took a couple days off, so it has been family time. (ie, no puter time for me! lol) Aunt Flo finally made her appearance, so the the mood swings & cravings have arrived! (fun times)
My 6yr old lost her first tooth last month. The tooth fairy left her a scroll,a quarter & $5, so she was happy. I won't tell her about the $20 tooth fairy...she'll be requesting her instead! lol
I know $20 is a lot. But what can you get for $5 these days? I wanted her to have something nice. I should try NOT to spoil her tho. Dont want a little prima donna on my hands!!!
I struggled so hard this morning as to wether I should call in sick or not.... I finally got my butt outta bed and came to work! Ear still hurts but only day two of antibiotics so we'll see.

ok $20 for a tooth Im sorry but most i give/gave my kids is a dollar HEY there are hundreds of dollar stores in CA LOL BUT i can also say if i had only 1 child yeah i'd probably do alot more............

So sorry to hear u r sick too. Bummer! Hope you feel better soon. My throat is feeling a lot better today and I was lucky not to pass it to the whole family. She lost one of her lowers in the right. I took lots of pics yesterday. Ill post one tonight.
John, I read your posts and you know what, dude? Maybe you should just use this time and concentrate on you. Get healthy and do things you enjoy. Take up some new hobbies. YOU be picky. Find a chic that is good enough for you and DO NOT settle.

GG: I have been sooooo good about the scale thing. I walk by even though I want just a peek. One day, I stepped on (cheating) and it was funny, I was up a pound and jumped off quick thinking...it doesnt count, not my weigh day. Ill pretend I didnt see that. hehehe Have you been taking inches? I lost 5 inches last week. I couldnt believe it and in off my thigh. YAY. What day do u weigh in. Im doing Friday. I eat a little more on weekends and occasionally have wine so I think I would be at my lowest on Fridays. Anything to cheat the system.

Lisa, Im in retail **** too. Christmas is going to be awful. I am dreading many nights up til 1 am doing basket after basket. Hope you get the new job.
laurie- i finally took my measurements last week when i didn't loose. So those are my first. I will probably plan to recheck measurement every 3-4 weeks..i think. And good for you not hoping on the scale. I really do think it has helped me. I don't stress so much anymore...and honestly...i look forward to my weigh in.
slim - if your ear's not better by tomorrow you really should go to the drs. Sometimes ear aches aren't just ear aches. It really isn't good to take antibiotics without knowing what your treating. I have a friend who while in school, they kept blowing her off saying it was just ear aches and would continue to give her ab's. Well come to find out she had a tumor (not malignat..aka bad) that was growing in her ear...but since the dr's waited for freaking forever to diagnose her issue it caused a lot off facial issues. I'm not trying to scare you...just know that taking ab's without knowing what the problem is, isn't really a great idea. I also hate when dr's dolle out ab's..i know its easier for you with work and all..but remember if you are taking ab's for something that its not fixing..it maybe causing antibiotic resistance. Sorry its the dr in me. I'm a big fan of finding the cause to the problem. My clients always got mad at me when i wouldn't refill their dog's ear meds that it had 6 months ago...and i tell them...well first off that med treats one particular thing and it may not be that now...in addition, maybe the dog has allergies causing the ear aches...sorry my big thing i hate. I know owner's don't want to pay lots for vet visits...but really ear aches in both humans and dogs shouldn't be treated without being evaluated. IMO. Sorry i'll step off my soap box now LOL
