Default Tuesday's Chick Chat

I need an extra dose of coffee this morning! I was exhausted by the end of the day yesterday. I can already hear Carley making noises, I hope she settles back to sleep for a couple more hours!

I'm going to have the girls here all day today. Maybe that will make things a bit easier on me, and I'll be able to put Carley down for her nap this afternoon. They had so much fun making their shirts yesterday and plan to wear them today. I have a couple of errands to do this morning, and make a run to the supermarket for some last minute things for tomorrow. It will be nice to have a day off in the middle of the week, I'll really need it this week!
They're having fireworks at a park near us this evening, so we're hoping we have a good view of them from the house rather than having to drive over.

Okay, time for maybe one more cup of coffee, have a wonderful day!

You had to mention coffee TWICE! Grrrr! I go for bloodwork this morning and my stomach is complaining loudly about not being allowed coffee until later. I never ate breakfast (except coffee) until ten years ago and now my body needs it! I'm bundled up warmly and am sipping warm water to get my poor veins ready for Dracula Nurse Jane. I have rolling veins and sometimes getting a draw takes many tries.

After that this morning, I will plant a last batch of seeds - beans, beets and chard - and tackle the tomato plants with ties. It's a jungle out there! I also need to bake a rum cake for the guys who are coming tomorrow to finish my kitchen. It still lacks some crown molding. I must do some school work sorting for the Fair judging too. Hershey and I will do pet therapy late in the day and that will kind of fill up my schedule.

Have a great Tuesday and don't wear yourself out getting ready for The Glorious Fourth!

Mornin' all! It's funny, but I wait all day for you guys to wake up so I can chat a bit!!!

I started a new (new to me, old book) Clive Cussler novel last night and it's so exciting! The kids and I are going to have reading time after we brush our teeth here in a minute and I'm going to pick up my book while they read through their library books.

We had a nice day today. Connor decided to behave himself this afternoon and it was a nice, relaxing evening. Avery just woke up so I have to cut this short, but the highlight of my day was getting my run in. I did five miles again today and it felt great to be done (can't say I actually enjoy the running part, but I'm awfully proud of myself when I'm finished!).

More later, I'm sure (unless I'm way into my book).

I'm trying to get some loose ends with work tied up this morning, then my Mother in Law (who is visiting with us) and I are heading to New Orleans to say our goodbyes to my daughter and take her and her sweetie out to lunch and to help them with last minute packing. They are leaving early tomorrow morning headed to California with 2 cars and a U-haul. I'm going to try not to cry till I get home, but I doubt that happens. They had a nightmare with the U-Haul yesterday. They reserved it in May, called a couple of days ago to confirm that they would pick it up by 3 yesterday...they left here around 1:30 to go pick it up and on the way, got a call from the U-Haul lady telling them that if they didn't come get it right away, they were letting someone else have it. Marie told them they were 2 blocks away and to hold it. Of course, when they got there, it was gone. She was livid..it was obvious they had let someone else have it a lot earlier and were just covering their tracks. One did come in a couple of hours later that they were able to get. Not very nice on U-Haul's part...seems that the lady wanted 2 sales instead of one and lied to Marie about the first trailer.

Just a quickie!

Good morning! I have to go to Physical Therapy before work so I'm up early! I also have to call the shop that took care of DH's car on the way. AAAGGHH! I have very little time!

So looking forward to my day off tomorrow. Hope everyone has a glorious day today! Will pop in later!

Nessa, I'm mean. I would leave his butt in bed until it was important enough for him to get his own lazy bones up. Tom tried to pull that on me when we were first married and after a week of me telling him, "Your alarm is going off. You have to get up. You're going to be late for work," I told him that I was NOT his mother and that I would no longer be waking him up. If he's late to work, he gets in a whole load of trouble, so that needs to be motivation enough. You're probably nicer than me, though. (I *do* pack his lunch the night before and leave it in the fridge for him, though.)

Have fun food shopping, Schatzi! I'm a bit of a shopaholic but I'm more of a control freak about the budget, so I get my shopping craze out at the grocery!

Good therapy vibes, Weezle! Hope you're mended quick-like!

I'm going backwards up the threads today. Fun!

Cat, we've had many issues with U-Haul between all of our moves. The trailer or truck we have reserved is almost never at the right location. We have *always* either gotten money back or gotten a bigger truck for the price of the one we had reserved, so you should make sure Marie makes a case for a partial refund once she gets to California. We've done the two car trip three times now. I should have told you this before, but we always take walkie talkies with us so we can entertain ourselves since Tom is always driving the truck with a car towed behind it and I'm always driving the car with the kids and dog in it! Our most impressive move was packing ourselves out of our house in Texas a week after Kadyn was born and driving three and a half days to northern California and then unloading into our new house there. One two year old, one one week old, one Chocolate Lab, two frazzled parents, one truck with a trailer pulled behind it, and our car. Whew!

Are you liking the video game, Nessa?

I don't think I'm going to be able to make the angel food cake tonight so it's on the list for tomorrow morning, before we hit Tom's work's picnic in the early afternoon. I'll be sure to report back on how it turns out. I think it was Barbara who posted the original recipe, but I'm not sure if it was her recipe or if she'd just found it somewhere.

Off to bed! Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning ladies. Work is off with a bang today, hoping to keep the ball rolling and make July a wonderful month for closing loans!

Not sure who has been sending the will power dust but thanks! Oldest son turned 20 sunday (aaaaaaaahhhh!) requested homemade carrot cake and lasagna! Resisted both! Birthday party yesterday for my neice, didn't touch the cake and ice cream! Now we shall see what the 4th brings, surely if I can say no to cake 2 days in a row, BBQ should be easy! Nessa I think "your" oatmeal bars have been my crutch!

Not much happening here beyond work. Should have more cucumbers and green beans than what I know to do with by this weekend! Why do I plant sooooo much???

Have a great day all!

That's funny. Children *are* important.

No, I'm not in bed yet. But I'm headed that way.

Pacer, you rock with your mad resistance! Keep it up! Can you make pickels with any old cucumber? If not, how about slicing some up with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and dill. That makes such a nice, crunchy summer salad. I'm on a zucchini kick lately. Too bad you didn't plant those because I've been making zucchini recipes up the wazoo!

Oh, Nessa.

Fig and walnut with a bit of nutmeg in your oatmeal bars was my latest attempt. SO GOOD!
