Default What Did You Eat Today?

I've been reading through some of the older threads. In one thread everybody posted what they ate for the day. I enjoyed reading everyone's menus - it gave me some good ideas, and plus I'm nosy. So I thought I would pose the question - "What did you eat today?" I'll start:

Breakfast - 1 cup Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 cup skim milk
Snack - 1 mozarella cheese stick
Lunch - 3 oz sirloin steak with 1/2 cup sauteed zucchini and tomatoes
Snack - 20 Wasabi Almonds
Dinner - 3 oz Salmon Burger with 1/2 cup quinoa, 1 cup steamed broccoli, 1/4 cup steamed carrots, and a plum
Evening Snack - 1/2 cup Ricotta with cocoa, vanilla, artificial sweetener, sprinkled with dark chocolate shavings and slivered almonds.

See, short on veggies, that's my problem. I couldn't handle salad today.

Kara and Indigal - This can be "What are you going to eat today?" for you if you want.

LOVE this idea! I've been doing this in the Phase 2 thread. Hope I haven't been annoying anyone...

Saturday:
Breakfast - Nessa's oatmeal bars and a hard boiled egg

Snack - 1/4 cup soy nuts

Lunch - Zucchini couscous and salad

Snack - 1/4 of a cantalope and a cheese stick (the cantalope was supposed to be with the lunch, but I had the same thing yesterday - leftovers today - and the couscous and salad was enough at lunch time so I had the cantalope for snack instead)

Dinner - apricot, feta, and pistacio salad

Dessert - Sugar Free Black Cherry Jell-O with Fat Free Cool Whip

Sunday's plan:
Breakfast - Nessa's oatmeal bars with a hard-boiled egg and glass of tomato juice

Snack - 15 almonds (May not have a lot of protein with lunch)

Lunch - We're going out to lunch with friends after church. We've been to
this restaurant before and they have great steamed veggies
and a really good fruit salad, so I'm going to stick to those options.

Snack - Cheese stick, if I'm hungry before dinner

Dinner - Tofu, Chickpea, and Sun-dried Tomato Salad from the South Beach Quick and Easy Cookbook and a whole wheat dinner roll with Smart Balance Light spread

Dessert - Black Cherry Jell-O with Fat Free Cool Whip

Yes, you partly gave me the idea. You haven't been annoying me, but I'm usually not organized enough to plan ahead like that, so I haven't joined in. I just make sure I have plenty of options on hand and then play it by ear most days, unless I'm going to be out and have to pack stuff.

I did bad Today. My friend had a Birthday Party for her daughter. I had two Pina Colatas (SP) I ate a hot dog Potato And Macaroni Salad.

Then for dinner I had a slice of pizza and part of a calzone.

Since I have been eating better it really gives me a gut ache to eat bad food. maybe its all in my head or maybe my stomach prefers the good foods. who knows?? (im sure you gals so lol)

I also had some cake but it was sooo sweet and rich it almost made me sick. I just ate a bite or two.

Given my swtich from 4-midnight shifts on Friday to an 8am-6pm shift on Sunday, I only spent about 1/2 a day awake yesterday. So I had

coffee with 1/2 and 1/2
a breakfast skillet of eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, onion, mushrooms, peppers with cheese (served on a bed of potatoes which I ignored)
water

Today, I'm having
coffee with 1/2 and 1/2
salad
sugar free jello
South Beach Diet frozen dinner
cheese
and whatever else I can find when I come home from work

Yes, I am also vegetable-poor. I haven't been to the store in several days due to the crazy 12-hour shifts at work. I will be SO GLAD when this is over and people come back from vacation!

I did exercise for 90 minutes yesterday though. It felt really good!

Well, yes and no. Our "main meal" of the day is around 2 in the afternoon. My husband has to be at work at 5am. and gets off at 1:45 (Monday-Thursday..he is off on Friday and Sat and works 8-5 on Sundays) When school is in session, I get off at 12:30. Then I work from home in the afternoons and during the summer I work all day from home. He's put in a full day by 2 and is ready for "dinner" then....so that's when we eat our biggest meal for the day..then in the evening, it's something light around 6 or so...more of like a snack.

Sunday is the "exception" when I cook a really big meal and the kids all come over, with boyfriends/girlfriends/friends etc and we eat around 5 when Terry gets home from work.

It is kind of a weird schedule, but I like it because the "heaviest" meal of the day is eaten early. In the evenings around 5 or so, I usually have a small salad or fruit and then my "dessert" or a snack around 7 or 8 when I stop working for the day. Terry and Beau..(husband and son who is still at home eat sandwiches, or cereal etc in the evening)

I usually start working about 4:30 am...so I've also put in a full day by 2.

Thanks for posting everyone. I think it's really fun to see how different people "do" the beach. Nessa, gotta love those sf nf vanilla lattes! I had one on Friday. I also ate at Outback while I was on my trip - I don't eat there very often, but I got the salmon and steamed veggies, and it was sooo good.

Not much time to post my plan for the day, my party starts in an hour, just taking a moment to check in. I'll come back later and let you all know what I ate today. So far, just two egg and ham cups.

My plan for today:

Pre-breakfast snack- 1/2 cup roasted chickpeas (I woke up and could NOT force myself to get downstairs and make myself some breakfast... so I just grabbed some roasted chickpeas)

breakfast- 1/4 cup steel cut oatmeal (when dry) with 1 cup mixed blueberries and raspberries mixed in, a cup of salad greens on the side

lunch plan- burrito salad when out with friends (lettuce, copious amounts of black beans, a little bit of guacamole, and 2 kinds of salsas)

snack- stuffed mushroom

dinner- grilled salmon on tabouli with some baked falafel

Sometimes I look at the fridge and decide... but since I don't have much food in the fridge and have to go shopping every 2 or 3 days, I have to plan well. Plus, I'm the type of person who will look in the fridge and decide I don't want anything, and then end up ordering out :P If I have in my head that this is what I have to eat whether I really like it at that moment or not, it works out much better for me.
