Totaling about 63 points today. I dont attend meetings due to the fact i am only following the diet plan, not exactly IN the program so i dont have that group supprt. I know that whenever i have boy troubles i turn to bingeing and i dont know what to do! ughhh, sorry if anyone knows a good choclate fix low in calories, greatly appreciated or any experience in heartbreak solutions thanks.

This is a WONDERFUL place for support. I've been here about 2 1/2 weeks. The people here are awesome and sooooo supportive. I'm still figuring things out, but quiting is NOT and option . . . oh yes we slip up, then we pick ourselves up and start fresh . . . just keep going.

I too, have chocolate issues, some people just have to cut it out completely, me I am learning moderation . . . when the chocolate comes knocking I do one of two things, first I do at LEAST 10 crunches to see if I can scare that away. If that doesn't work I ask myself (honesty is important here) do I want chocolate because I'm bored/frustrated/angry/tired/need comforting . . . and that list goes on, if it's for one of those reasons I don't eat it. So I try to reward myself with chocolate. Example: today I did 40 min on the eliptical machine and a 1 hour yoga workout . . . so I had a square of chocolate. I break the bar up into the little squares and those are my rewards. I keep it in the fridge so it takes a little longer to melt in my mouth. I think Dove has small chocolate squares already prewrapped.

For me this works, because I know if I deprived myself of chocolate I would go WAY overboard.

Don't know if this helped, either way, just hang in there.

bad days are okay, as long as you don't let them turn into bad weeks ect...
for a chocolate fix:

* Swiss miss no sugar added cocoa (sip it slowly)<-50 cal + calcuim
* tootsie rolls - they aren't the greatest, but not too shabby
* chocolate covered strawberries - they are mostly berry with a little bit of chocolate
* Hershey's kisses. you have to have portion control but you get 9 per 210 cal serving. It takes a little bit of dedication to unwrap each and every one of them. I get bored by piece 4.
* Chocolate Graham crackers - it covers the crunchy food group too - lol.

here's a recipe I use all the time:

take one sheet of chocolate graham cracker and break it into it's respective smaller crackers (that makes 4 little ones - half a serving). Smear some cool whip free on 2 of those crackers and use the other 2 to top them off. pop them in the freezer for 20 minutes or so and VIOLA! You now have ice cream sandwiches (eat them both and it's still less than 100 calories).

heartbreak is at the root of many less than healthy eating days. Have your chocolate moment but don't lose perspective. Love yourself and be kind to you body

Hey bal11,

I think that its great that you joined! Because we all need to connect with one another, especially on days when it feels like we have made mistakes.

I think the main idea here is to realize that your binge episode is over and not to let it wreck your long-term goals by letting it get you too down on yourself. We all make mistakes and the most important thing is to make a quick u-turn and get back on the right track.

Also, I hear that dark chocolate is supposed to be good for you. So if you have to have the chocolate, make it dark, bitter-sweet chocolate

I hope this helps,
Pearl

PS The best revenge, especially against ex-boyfriends, is looking good!

Don't beat yourself up about it. Everyone makes mistakes. I am a huge chocolate fan myself, and it does cure many heartaches! LOL. Here's some low points alternatives:

100 calorie packs-they have little E.L. Fudge cookies and mint chocolate cookies, also oreo ones and nutter butters. They are in the cookie/crackers aisle at the grocery store and all of them are 2 pts. per little bag. They are really good and satisfying!

FF Chocolate pudding with FF cool whip on top! Yummy!

Buying individually wrapped chocolates (requires willpower though, trust me!)

Those chocolate or carmel corn rice cakes

I hope this helps!

chocolate is one of those foods isnt it?

I realized chocolate was one of those foods that I did not want to eliminate entirely (as I do some triggers) so I had to go the opposite route and I now eat 1 small piece (dove square, or hershey nugget) every single day after lunch. I decided to just MAKE it be part of my life...no biggie..not forbidden...no need to binge...there will be more tomorrow...

Some foods I do have to eliminate though, I just cant handle them. Ironically it looks like chocolate chip cookies may be one of them.

Chocolate is a food that can be a trigger for me, as well, but not something I am willing to give up completely. I'm planning on getting some of those chocolate calcium squares and seeing if that helps me get my chocolate 'fix' each day without feeling guilty or like I have to eat half a box

Right now, there is semi-sweet baking chocolate in the cupboard, and today will be the second day that I haven't touched it. Go, me
