Vickie!!!! Why would you think that you are babbling? Isn't that what we all do? I hope that no one made you feel that way, because it is absolutely not true. Look at how much I babble!!

Kathy, I'm glad that you finally went to the doctor. Take your meds!!!

Frouf, I hope that you aren't sitting out in the rain tonight. Or that you at least found an umbrella.

Saundra, thanks for the suggestion about my dad. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but inviting him over for a father's day meal might not be a bad idea.

I hope that you are all doing well. I'm still sort of behind. We've been at Lowe's this evening for paint. We finally got it and are now home. There is much to do before painting tomorrow!! We got a light brown for the main walls and a red-brown for the accent walls. that it looks good! I'll be sure to post a pic.
Have a great night everyone!

Lawsie, could we BE any slower these days???

We're back from dinner at Fire Mountain and I feel like a tick. NOT good. I just took a bath and stepped on the scale after getting out -- it said 148, which I suppose isn't bad for an evening of eating a little bit of everything: fried shrimp, hush puppies, salmon, meatloaf, rice with butter, sweet potato casserole, fried okra, cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and a roll. Just kill me now.

I'm going to rest now and try to get some sleep so we can get up in the morning and leave at a reasonable hour. Night, all!

I just got home from dinner with the Niece and family. It's always good to see the Great Niece, Nephew and the other Great Niece (baby Sarah, my Godchild). The big kids wanted to come here after dinner to play with us while their parents went to ToysRUs. Huh? What kids don't want to go to the toy store? Anyway.....the just left, it's 9:30 and we are EXHAUSTED! Back out tomorrow to run the errands we didn't get done today. Sigh.

The pool is open. I'm not kidding, it's going to be a high of 58 here tomorrow and raining. Sheesh.

Kathy, take your medicine. I know you're not a big medicine person but it seems like your Doctor really thinks it will work for you. You'll get over your dinner. I'm sure you didn't eat full servings of anything.

Melissa, I love pictures. I can't wait to see yours. They are building a Lowe's up the street from us. I can't wait to see what they have there.

I just started to think that maybe I was taking up too much of the board with my life and story since my posts are always so long. I just thought I'd let you all go crazy for a while. I really need to exercise tomorrow. My life keeps getting in the way which is NOT good. First exercise, then errands. I might not be back on until later tomorrow. Have a great evening and morning!

today seems a lot like saturday. do you ever have those days when they feel like other days of the week? i guess it feels like saturday cuz we shot the senior olympics today. we were totally out of our routine but had a blast. we were out on the field from 7:45 am till almost 3 pm. the weather was gorgeous. i picked up a lot of sun.

i won the gold medal but did not set a new state record. i set the record 2 years ago and hoped to change it this year as this is my last year to shoot in the 55-59 age group. didn't do it. now i'll have to work on the 60-64 age record next year. also, we want to compete in the national senior games next year. i'm already excited.

my eating? i'm shaking my head back and forth, flicking my tongue, blinking my eyes. my eating's been just as crazy as all that. i am going to start fresh in the am. i'm going to try to stay at 24 pts and eat mainly core. that's how i lost those 10 lbs recently. now i'm sure i need to lose those same 10 again. life goes on.

paula, we'll be getting cherries shortly. what kind do you have? my fav are ranier.

patti, thank you for the wonderful compliment. you're so sweet. you just made my day. curtis and i are both exhausted tonight. his shoulders held up. what a blessing! my feet held up. another blessing! life is good.

kathy, i'll bet the mom to be and you were all smiles. kathy, i'm no doctor but i'm thinking your feeling poorly might be from depression. your body and your whole system have been through a lot the past few months. maybe that caused depression.

angela, your hair is adorable. i'm soooooo happy for you.

melissa, i went 6 months of not speaking to my dad. now that he's gone, i wish i had those 6 months back.

saundra, you are so sweet. i guess we are "the team." the local paper did come interview us and took photos of the competition today. i'll see what i can do about posting it tomorrow. the reporter said the article was going to mainly be about curtis and me.

frouf, i'll bet little ds was so proud seeing big ds in the paper. how neat!!

kathy, sounds like your friend is a "sunrider" distributor. curtis was one several years ago. made good money. i know calli tea was one of the big items. i never got into it mainly because i considered that to be part of curtis' former life with his previous wife. i also went through the kitchen and threw away almost everything she'd left here. am i weird?

frouf, read what i just wrote kathy.

vickie, i'm going back to meetings next week, too. and i know it's going to be **** and high scale.

kathy, i just read your post about going to the doctor. maybe i need to hang out a shingle.

it's almost 9 pm. i am heading to bed. i had fun but i'm glad the olympics are over. night night.

vickie, did you see how long my post is? i do this a lot, too. we're all friends here and friends share with each other. so post away!!!!!!!

i know what you mean about life getting in the way. sometimes i wish i could just be a dieting machine again like i was back in 95. i lost 50 lbs in 2 months that summer. didn't eat much. didn't do much. i was a dieting machine.

Hi all!

First of all, Vickie, I agree with everyone else. You are NOT babbling. We are women, we love to hear all the details of our friends' lives. I'm glad you're going to your meeting Monday - come **** or high scale. Ha ha. I had a bad day today, but I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow, I promise. It's so beautifully cool here today, which was perfect for yardwork, but not swimming. Here's to hoping you get in your pool soon, I know you enjoy it.

Kathy, you feel like a tick? I haven't heard that one before, but it IS descriptive. I feel the same. We went to the local Mexican place here, and let's just say that the Rio Grande platter is no more. Ugh, I feel sick. I actually have a gigantic headache, I think from the smoke in there, so as soon as I finish mailing you all, I'm going to bed.

Melissa, have fun with your painting project. Those colors sound very pretty. I'm glad you're enjoying your new house.

Frouf, I hope you and Emily stayed dry this evening. I too, would be really sad if I found out I were lactose intolerant. Have you taken any of that Lactaid stuff? Does it actually work?

Today, Lorena and my sister came over, and we did our nails. Well, actually, Lorena did my nails...I'm terrible with nail polish. Now they're cute and pink (Frouf!) with tiny rose-colored flowers done in nail art. They won't last long with the gardening/mom stuff I do, but it was fun.

Tomorrow is a busy day...I need to put the finishing touches on my dress and jewelry for the big choir event. Then, I'm going on a raid of Molten Core with my guild (computer game jargon, just ignore ), and then off to a Handcart Pioneer festival event thing where my sister is singing and my dad is accompanying on guitar. Then home to put the kiddos to bed.

Sunday evening is the big event... so I may not be on too much in the next few days.

I'm off to sleep...

Good luck Angela at the big event (so what channel are we tuning in to? ). And your nails sounds lovely! (speaking of which I am due - maybe tomorrow if I can be squeezed in?).

Kathy - take the pills - I'm sure they will help make you feel better! And no weighing allowed after eating and bathing (don't you know your skin can easily soak up a couple of pounds in the tub?). Hope you have a nice visit with your family.

Vickie - geez if you are babbling - then I am frothing at the mouth! I agree w/Angela - details please!

Sandra - congrats on doing so well - and we await your newspaper appearance' as well! Glad your feet are holding up nicely.

I am home and and barely RECOVERING froma night in the pouring rain! I think each and every one of those dancing girls deserves a MEDAL! They were such troopers and did a fantastic job.

First was the trying to get a parking spot fiasco (dd had invited 2 friends along) which took about 30 minutes (and the place is a 5 min drive from our house!). Then the 1.5 hour wait inside! And I could see the rain getting harder and harder and as the temperature dropped it got colder and colder!

Then a pep talk from dance school directors - about how they need to stay positive - and all these people are outside walking/running in the rain (24 hour relay) cuz they either had/have cancer or know someone who does - and what's dancing in the rain for 30 minutes compared to what these people have to go thru? Well that sure put it in perspective!

Now imagine a huge field (think soccer) with tents around the perimeter - in the center - nothing - around the edge - 3 lanes (slow/medium/fast) which you have to scoot thru to avoid getting run over and stepped on to get to the middle - where they created a stage area w/pylons.

The ground is covered in green turf material which is literally SOAKING WET, like a big green sponge - and do I need to tell you that several dances have the girls rolling or crawling or leaping and landing in splits on the wet turf? Most of all they were FREEZING - in little tank tops - you could see the goosebumps on their arms! But they were smiling and leaping and dancing and everyone was cheering everyone on - even the little ones were smiling ear to ear (like 5 yrs old!).

It was so difficult towards the end as their outfits were getting soaked - you could see the wet blotches - and their black gaucho/capris were almost falling off their bodies due to the weight of the water!

I of course gave up on the umbrella at some point - rain had already soaked thru my meager little raincoat - my feet/shoes/socks were wet and top of pants wet where my jacket was dripping onto them.

Needless to say we were VERY HAPPY to get back in the car and get home - my hands were literally hurting and tingling when I got in as they 'defrosted' and now my cheeks are bright red - like windburn? or maybe rainburn? on my face - a big pink cheeked froufie!

That should be enuf babbling for now!

Frouf, I was thinking of you all last night and am glad you got through it. So be it for planning events on the second week of June. Looks like today is the worst and it will start to moderate again tomorrow. We just have to hang in.

Vickie, I consider myself to be a "babbler", and sometimes question what opinion people have of my "babbling", but I figure that we're a group of good women who are here for eachother. Hope I'm right.
It's so nice that you had fun with your family. Yesterday, I spoke to both of my sisters for quite a long time, so that was my visiting.

Sandra, can't wait to hear about the newspaper report. I know that I repeat myself, but you guys are "special". Hope to see some pics too.

Kathy, have a safe and fun trip. It's good that you'll be with your parents today. Oh, how I miss those times. I always feel a little sad between Mother's and Father's Day.

Melissa, your colours sound great and again, look forward to the pictures. Have fun painting. Hope your weekend is special.

Bernie has left for work, so it will be quiet. With the miserable weather, I don't think that I'll be going too far. Natan will be coming over in the late afternoon. Maybe there's a good movie on TV, it's a good day for one. I actually put the heat on last night, as I was cold.

Okay, I guess I'll round up a load of laundry, and see what else needs my attention.

Good Morning Chicks! You are all SO sweet. I'm back here again for my morning babble and .

It's been monsooning here since last night and it's cold. Jim has to go out as soon as it stops pouring and let water out of the pool so that we can run the filter. For an above ground pool, you have to make sure the water stays below the top of the skimmer or you burn out your filter since it needs air to suction. Now you are all pool experts! Usually, we don't have to do it so soon. Sheesh.

I'm on bra quest 2006; going to all Lane Bryant's in the area and trying to buy leftover bras in my style and size before they discontinue them. I'll be hitting two today. My Sister went to the one by her house yesterday and got me 2. I have 2 more stores close to me and I'll be trying both of them.

Saundra, it never hurts to have a backup vacuum. Maybe you could keep your repaired one on a different level so that you don't have to drag it up and down the stairs. Or....are you in a ranch house like me? I don't think of anyone but me as a babbler. I enjoy reading everyone else's details! I always worry about what other people think so it's nice to hear that it was just me being overly judgemental of myself. Canada and Chicago must be having the same weather. It can pass as soon as it wants. Enjoy your time with Natan today. I just love being with my Greats!

Kathy, how do you feel today? Less like a tick? I know your Mom can make you a little crazy but I hope you enjoy your time with your parents today.

Sandra, on your GOLD medal! I'm so very proud of you. I'm guessing that you and Curtis are both proud of each other too. Jim had an Ex and they lived in the house together that I moved into with Jim. I went through that entire house and erased every single solitary sign of her. So....I don't think you're weird at all! Sorry to hear that your eating was haywire. Back on the wagon with you!

Angela, thanks for your support! And, thanks for getting my joke about going back to meetings come **** or high scale. Sorry to hear about the Rio Grande platter but I know it's been a long time since you've done something like that. You'll be ok and are probably back on the wagon already. Your nail party sounds like a lot of fun. I can't polish my own nails either. Mine get all lumpy and don't look nice at all. I've heard that if you use the right products, a manicure can last for a long time. It sounds like Lorena is quite talented at nail polishing. I hope you reach the Molten Core and that your choir event turns out great. We'll miss you and await the update.

Frouf, you painted QUITE a picture. I almost feel wet and cold sitting here just reading about it. What troupers the kids are! I have to admit that the Instructor's speech would have motivated me as well. I'd have been too ashamed to whine about the rain and cold. Are you warm yet?

I need to eat breakfast and exercise. Then shower and off to the errands. I think maybe we'll have lunch out somewhere too. I'm finally going to make my meat sauce for dinner. It's a good and hearty meal that will be good on a day like today. I'm also going to make my tamale pie so I can have it for lunches. It is SO damp and chilly.

It's monsooning here too...I imagine it'll get to you, Vickie, in a day or so. Isn't it nice you have a 24 hour weather preview from me, who's about 5 hours west of you? I'm glad we don't have a pool...sounds like a lot of work. Plus I'd always be paranoid that my girls would fall in and drown. You have a good, locked fence around your pool, right? When I was young, our cat fell into a neighbor's pool, and died later. It was very tragic for a young me.

Frouf, I'm glad the girls enjoyed dancing in the rain. It may have been uncomfortable, but I bet they'll remember it, and the message of their instructor, way longer than if the weather had been favorable. I still remember once, when I was in my early 20's...I was the youth camp leader for our church. I was in charge of 40 people for 3 days. We camped in one location, canoed for a day to another place (and I had to coordinate moving all our stuff), and then camped in that second place for 2 days. Well, the last night, it started to rain and rain and rain. We were listening to the radio, and all of a sudden, the tornado sirens go off! We had 35 girls between the ages of 12 and 17 to wake up, get out of the tents, find their shoes, and get to shelter, in the middle of a thunderstorm, in the middle of the night, and do all that and keep them from freaking out. Needless to say, we survived, but I was exhausted. I got a total of 7 hours of sleep that 3 day stretch.

As far as what channel we'll be on, I think it's being broadcast to North America via BYU-TV, so unless you have a satellite package with BYU-TV on it, you're out of luck.

Off I go to start my day.

Ugh. So TOM arrived 2 WEEKS late! I'm crabby and crampy and now I have to force myself on the treadmill. I just came on here to whine.

Angela, no more rain, PLEASE! It's already monsooning here. We have a fence around our yard AND a separate fence around the pool with a padlock and a key. I'm very cautious about pools and drownings after my Great Nephew drowned in a public pool that wasn't properly secured. I don't blame you about worrying about your girls. That's pretty amazing that you were able to stay calm through the tornadoes. They scare the bejeebers out of me!

Vickie, I guess that there's an upside to being 61, POST menopause! I really was lucky and only had a couple of "flash" experiences. Once I got on the Evening Primrose, things went well.

Angela and Vickie, keep your rain in the midwest. It's apparently going to get better here tomorrow, so don't send any more.

I'm not sure what possessed me, but I've been cleaning all morning. I finally got my laundry in and took my shower, so it's R&R for the rest of the day.

I tried successfully to make yocheese. I put a cone coffee filter in a funnel, and then added plain ff yogurt. Place in tall glass and cover overnight in fridge. In the morning, all the liquid drains into the glass and voila, you have yocheese. Just another thing to play with. You can add vanilla to the yogurt first, and it will be something like cream cheese. At least I'm learning something by spending half my days on the puter.

Cold and miserable here too - not raining yet - but probably will? I can't believe it - it's like fall outside - strong COLD wind - and my measly little windbreaker sure doesn't cut it!

Angela - your outdoor experience sounds pretty horrific - but glad everyone was safe and sound in the end!

....I am barely recovered still trying to warm up (and yes Saundra I sure did want to turn the heat back on!). Also doing a load of laundry (all the wet clothing from last night).

Sandra - I am so proud of you and curtis - how awesome for both of you to be top in your field - good for you!

Saundra - let us know how the 'yocheese' turns out - and what you are going to use it for. Have fun w/Natan - definitely a movie day. Speaking of which we hope to head out to see "Cars" later today - little ds is so excited and yes my big turning 20 tomorrow 'baby' also wants to come along!

Went to bed too late (like probably 1:30 am?) and made the big mistake of telling little ds we would go out for breakfast in the morning and to the library (he was crying when I got home last night so I was trying to make him feel better!). So of course he is in our room at 9:30 am telling me it's time to get up.

I sure didn't feel like it - but I dragged myself out of bed and into the shower, got dressed and off to MCdonald's for breakfast (yes kid's meal came with a "cars' toy!) and some time in the playroom for ds. Then to the drugstore and library for books (still need to get some bday cards for big ds).

Little ds got him a miniature basketball game and a big bag of reese's peanut butter cups for his present - very cute! We are giving him a 'coupon' for driving lessons (not even sure how expensive that is? YIKES!), and dd has ordered him a t-shirt off the internet which should be here any day now. Also have to order the DQ cake as well.

Vickie - good luck with the bra hunt - sounds like you are on a mission! sorry about TOM problems - but I am very impressed with your dedication to exercise - good for you!

And our neighbour who wanted the big pile of topsoil was up and about early this morning as we looked out the window he was very busy hauling wheelbarrows full across the street - he said he would need all of it - and I was thrilled and expecting to see an EMPTY driveway when I got home - but no such luck -seems he overestimated - so we still have quite a bit to get rid of. And obviously no gardening here yet as I await a DECENT weekend to get this done.

Have to go check movie schedule now and see when we shall go!

Later,
Frouf
