  • Ooooh, she's so teeny! I wish I could smell her -- I love to smell babies!! You look SO proud! I am just nearly getting teary-eyed!
  • Oh Vickie, how precious!! Thanks for sharing. You look so proud.

Sandra, you are more than welcome.

Kathy, I hope Judd will cook something for you! And this was about the easiest thing ever. Oh, and I ate the beans and rice on purpose, I'm trying to fiber-load.

    Hope you both enjoy them.

We have been picking out paint tonight for the new house. It's so hard to decide without being in the house, but I think we've narrowed it down. We are thinking of doing a mossy green or an earthy brown in the bedroom. I'll see if I can find something comparable to share.
  • That sounds good, Melissa! I LOVE color!

Hey, does anyone know Tanya Tucker personally? I mean, could you introduce me because I really think we would be friends. She's insane and I love that TLC show "Tuckerville". I watched it last season and couldn't wait for it to come back on. Anyway, just thought I'd ask.

My eyes are killing me! I guess I'll take my contacts back out and find something to do up close, like read or do a puzzle. I just can't watch TV or use the computer with them out, and Kate has my glasses (don't ask).

Judd's gone now and I hope he has a good time tomorrow in the golf tournament. He said he's playing tomorrow, and next Saturday, and then will curtail it a bit. He has probably played 2-3 times a week in the last month and it has really run into some big money (green fees are between $45 and $85 each time, depending on where he plays -- plus lunch or dinner afterward). I added it up yesterday and was shocked! I told him to enjoy it while it lasts, because he's cutting into my budget. I think that got his attention.

Erin should be home from work in a while, so I'd better hurry and go to sleep. Otherwise she'll pop in here and ask if I need anything, then I'll probably send her to the store for jelly beans, and then I'll regret it later ... LOL!
  • Aw Vickie, she's adorable, and everyone's right, you do look like the proud (great) aunt.

The open house went well today, but I think I was out in the sun too long. I wore sunblock, but I still feel pretty cruddy. I think I may be coming down with my oldest daughter's cold.

I'm going to turn in early here, because I have early church tomorrow.

    Later ladies,
    Angela
  • Good Sunday morning all you chickies out there!

It's cool (almost cold) and raining out there. It was the same yesterday. It's typical Ottawa April weather, but a real come down after the beautiful week we had.

Yesterday was busy. The kids came over with a single dad friend with his little girl It's a siad situation, and I've known hime from their high school days. They left Natan here and we had a wonderful visit. Bernie worked till 6:00 and we had dinner. They picked Natan up about 8:30. He asked if I want to come to his house today. What a sweetheart.

Sandra, you are focused and that is so good. Once you are on the weight loss journey, it's a ride that will show results. I salute you. Aren't those grandkid days wonderful?

Melissa, I know your ailment well. I've had a real rough time for the past while. It's actually prevented me from leaving the house. I finally found a new OTC med called Benefibre. It's easy to use and things have been better since Monday when I started. I eat so much good food, but my system doesn't know it. Hope you are feeling better. I love the colour you've chosen. The kids' new house is a very dark taupie green. They are showing those shades big time right now. Have a fun time picking.

Vickie, Sarah is so tiny and adorable. Oh, how I love to hold the wee ones. I know what Kathy means, they smell so wonderful. I know that she will bring her family such joy. BTW, you look great in that picture.
How's Jim doing today. I hope each day will bring a little improvement.

Kathy, I agree that Judd should stay home a little more. Even compromise is better than every weekend alone. I know that you are bored, but you want to heal properly. There are lots of good dvd's realeased lately. Why not get Erin to pick up a few for you?

Okay, guess I'll put a white load in. It's going to be a quiet morning around here, so I'll see you soon,
  • Lookie who's awake?? Of course, if Judd were here to put the dogs out to potty, I'd sure still be sleeping but he's not, so I'm not.

While I was up, I made myself some oatmeal and a Diet A&W root beer. Breakfast of champions! The scale was 144.2 this morning so I guess I've figured it out now. During the time I had no appetite, I didn't gain but I did lose much either. Now that I'm eating again, I'm losing. I'm going to try to stick to Core foods as closely as I can for a week and see what happens by next Saturday morning.

And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to bed.
  • Good Morning Chicks!

Jim is feeling a bit better but the codeine is making him feel like Melissa and Saundra. That....and the fact that he's really not eating much! He'll probably lose about 25 pounds before this is over. The tongue hurts. Last night when I came home we started alternating Children's liquid motrin with the Tylenol codeine like the Doctor said. It seems the motrin may be giving him a bit of relief. I had to explain to Jim that tylenol is really just for pain but that the motrin will help the aching and the swelling. He doesn't take medicine much. He usually describes his symptoms and I tell him what to taken. I verified the amount that I thought the Doctor told me to give him with the Pharmacist and she confirmed. We had to wait 48 hours after the procedure to insure no bleeding from the motrin. We waited an extra day because Jim wanted to be careful. Anyway....that's probably more than you wanted to know.

I'm just tired....and I just got up. Not a good sign. I need to start putting the entertainment center back together and get all that stuff off of my dining room table. All I really want to do is lay on my couch and eat.

I am going to WW tomorrow not matter what. I'm giving in and cooking some chicken here. I know it's going to bother Jim (even though he says to go ahead). I just can't keep eating cold food the way that I have been. I'm going to broil some chicken thighs and am making a rice/bean side dish similar to what Melissa made. I'm just not sure I have everything here that I need.

Now I'm off to see what's up with all of you.
  • Kathy, you sound a little more mobile. I'm glad you got breakfast. I hope you're not taxing that ankle too much. We'll try to stick to Core foods as closely as possible together!

Saundra, your plan for today sounds like mine. Busy little housework. I know you enjoyed Natan and your DS. I love my Great Nieces and Nephew too.

Thanks, Angela, I am proud of my Niece and Great Niece. It's great that the housewarming went well. I hope they got lots of great presents that they can use.

Sandra, the slurpee came from 7-11 and they are the original makers of them. Other places have icees, but my expert tells me that the original slurpees are the best! They 7-11 is the only place that has the SF passionfruit crystal light ones. I licked the one I was bringing home yesterday and thought that I should have bought myself one.

Melissa, I'm glad that you figured out what was wrong with you and corrected it! Don't forget....it's VERY important to drink lots and lots of water with fiber. It can have the same result if you don't.

Time for me to start a meal thread and think about eating breakfast.
  • A crystal light icee sounds awesome!

I am back from church. I just went for the service and came home. I'm feeling much better, but still not well.

Vickie, I'm so glad that things are going okay with Jim. I know you are stressed but you are really doing very well. I hope you enjoy your chicken and rice/beans. Thanks for the reminder about water. I'm drinking it but probably not enough.

Kathy, glad you managed to get some food this morning! Enjoy your nap.

Saundra, it sounds like you had a great time with your family. I know that you are very excited about the kids moving closer to home. That's so great. I know firsthand how exciting that is!

Well I'm off to find something for lunch, even though it's only 10. DH has been up a very long time, so it's lunchtime for him.
  • Hey, Saundra snuck in! I just now saw it when I saw Vickie referring to your weekend. I was wondering about you!

Poor Erin didn't get home until after midnight because she stayed and helped out. She was supposed to leave at 10 but they got busy. Being the only 24-hour pharmacy in the area doesn't help, and neither does being near a hospital. She didn't go to the store last night but I've got a list ready for her in case she has time to go today. I should take the jelly beans off, but instead I'll take off the coke. Gotta compromise somewhere! I was thinking about making a casserole sorta like lasagna but with WW spaghetti noodles. I'll just layer the meat/sauce, noodles, and cottage cheese/eggs, then top with FF mozzarella. What do you think? Oh but wait. Unless she makes a special trip to Albertson's, our regular store doesn't have FF mozzarella. I might just go with the 2% and count a point for it. It would be just a teeny bit anyway.
  • Kathy, the casserole sounds fabulous. If it turns out could you make a recipe for your moronic, uncreative friends? Poor Erin sure is working hard, isn't she?

Melissa, I'm glad you came home. Now you can work on your paper and/or pack....or both!

I'm REALLY going to eat now.
  • Kathy, Sandra's spaghetti pie is very similar to that. You may want to take a look at that recipe for some ideas. My family liked it a lot.

I'm back from church now, and planning on a nice relaxing afternoon at home.

Time to make PB&J's for the kids for lunch.
    Angela
  • Wow! Quiet today. I just stopped in to read while eating my veggie burger. I didn't want Jim to have to smell cooked food. Of course, he'll smell it later when I make the garlic chicken.

    I hope you're all well.

Angela, I really must look at that spaghetti pie recipe.
  • Kathy, can I change the time on my posts? Since we moved the clocks ahead in the Spring, all my posts show an hour earlier than I'm really posting.
  • Angela, I hope you are feeling better.

Vickie, how are the burgers? I'm not even sure they sell them here. That's sweet of you not to eat around Jim, although I'm sure he doesn't mind.

Have you all seen the commercials for that new TLC show...something like, "Honey, we're making the kids fat!" or something to that affect. We don't get TLC but we do get Discovery and they keep showing commercials for it. It looks very interesting!
