Okay Mousie,
It's your old friend Judy here. I don't know diddly about the science of Core; all I know is it works for me when I work it. My "guess" is that WW's knows that higher fiber, lower fat foods, and lean protein and FF dairy products are healthy for you, keep you feeling fuller, and result in a weight loss for most people. However, WW's is also a people pleaser organization that needed to figure out a way to keep their members on Core. To that end, I (and I underline the "I") think they allowed the Jello and pudding products and the processed cheeses that are FF into the program so that they'd have a way for people to stay on Core and still satisfy cravings without starting a binge when another piece of fruit wasn't going to do it. I myself use Diet Cocoa when I'm craving chocolate and that helps although I know it's not necessarily the healthiest food on the block. So, keep on reading, check out menus on this site, and keep on asking questions. I do recommend the Complete book of foods that have the Core products checked because it will clear up a lot of the nitty gritty questions for you. Good luck, pal, and keep on keepin' on! :
