  • Danny, have fun on your cruise. You did a great job losing weight, and almost reached your goal! That's fantastic.

Kathy, I'm so sorry for the stress that Shaun has put you through. I don't know how you've managed this long. I guess you just hope that one day he'll grow up and treat you like a queen for all the trouble he's made.

Vickie, It sounds like you two are going to enjoy your day after all. I have to get in the kitchen too. I'm not cooking much, but I am making a broccoli salad. Hope you have a wonderful (pain-free) day.

Well I'm off to finish cleaning, clean myself up, and do a few other things. I hope that everyone has a great day.

Oh, and her website is www.jewelrybykat.com
  • Oh, I forgot to say
    Merry Christmas!
    and
    Happy Hanukkah!

(Does anyone have snow? It's supposed to be 50* here today!)
  • Alrighty, girlies! Merry Christmas Eve!

I never went to bed; instead I went to Target and Kohls looking for another cookie press. Mine is dead. I didn't find one but I would rather do without than go to the mall (or anywhere near it!).

I finally talked to Shaun and he was at a friend's house. Whatever.

    Judd's still not home. Whatever.

Kate and the guinea pigs are still asleep. I hope they had a good night. These little babies were so scared last night. I hope that after tomorrow they can settle into their new house and routine. We're having to make sure the door is closed tightly so our cat won't terrorize them.

Nothing else going on today. I'm playing my game on the computer (what else is new?) and trying to decide if I want to clean house. I don't think I do.
  • Weather ... UGH! Here are our highs for the next few days: today is 66, tomorrow 66, Monday 75, Tuesday 77 ... get the picture? It's ridiculous.
  • Just taking a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!! Busy day today with family coming over tonight then we got to bro's tomorrow for dinner.. have a great holiday with your families..I'll see you all in a day or two!!
  • Hi Girls! It's fairly warm here and we still have at least 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground. Fog, rain and another 2 inches of snow are expected overnight. I guess it'll be pretty nice to be tucked safe and sound inside.

Kathy, I'd hate to have 60's or 70's on Christmas. It just wouldn't seem right. I'm glad Shaun was ok. But, then I'd want to slap him for being so inconsiderate. I don't want to clean either but I have to. Jim is getting ready to do the floors in the kitchen now. When he's done, I'll go into action on the appliances, counters, table, etc. Then I'll do the prep for dinner on the chicken. It should be a pretty easy meal.

Patti, Holiday wishes to you as well. Have a safe and wonderful time with you family!

Happy Holidays to you too, Judy!

Melissa, thanks for the website. I saved it to watch for new things she might make.

    Talk to you all later.
  • Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, everyone.

It's about 45°F and raining here, but they're still saying it might turn to snow overnight. *crosses fingers*
  • Same to you, Tanya!
  • Good morning all!

Vickie - sorry to hear about the change of plans but sure sounds like you have a great Plan B and will have a lovely and peaceful time at home! Enjoy your gift sharing w/Jim!

Melissa - necklace is LOVELY - so what did you get dh? Have fun w/your family today/tonight.

Kathy - glad Shaun was found and yes I know how worried you must have been. We moms probably all do have ulcers or something brewing and I swear my early grey hair is definitely due to the children!

Danny - congrats on getting so close to your goal! I am very thrilled to hear you are cruising now - definitely need to see pics and a review upon your return - enjoy your holidays w/your family.

...and yes plenty of snow here today - it snowed overnight so more shovelling in our future? We are going to sil's place tonight - but not til 8 pm or so - she wanted to open gifts at around midnight!!! But realizes that due to some younger ones around we may need to do this earlier? My little ds is actually expecting Santa to show up - so he and his sister hauled up the xmas tree from the basement and tried (unsuccessfully) to set it up! Waiting for dh to return to he can finalize the setup! (He is off getting some last minute movie gift certificates for gifts).

DD is of course demonstrating a very poor attitude - expecting "gifts" both xmas and chanukah - and of course nothing in return (I have no money so I can buy gifts - this after the home-baked cookie/tin presents she gave to her friends!...hmmm). We are not impressed with her right now! (...and she is also banished to her room to clean up along with her messy bathroom!)

I actually slept in late (10:30 am) despite dh 'talking' to me while I was trying to sleep (first about his sinuses and non-breathing status then in a panic about the chocolate cake in the fridge which was going to be dehydrated prior to our taking it to sil's house! - can you imagine?).

I am still in my jammies and will relax most of the day hopefully? Will try and nap later if possible as I know we will be out very late.

....and now for the DRUMROLL - I did my "official" one week weigh-in this am on my scale - and happy to report a very good result! Last sat am I weighed in at 212.2 and today's reading is 207! Isn't that amazing? I hope to continue the downward trend and will have to be extra vigilant over the holidays.

Will now go have some 'brunch' (it's almost 1 pm and I have not eaten yet!), probably scrambled eggs?...then will have turkey dinner before going to sil's around 8 pm - hopefully I will be very full and not tempted by the goodies? We are bringing the cake of course - but I think there should also be a veggie and dip platter which I can indulge in if required!

Tomorrow probably turkey leftovers and potato pancakes for the first night of Chanukah!

Hope eveyrone has a wonderful Christmas eve!

    Frouf
  • All is done here,,,Im just waiting for Santa to come!! (and if anyone wants snow Id be happy to send you some)
  • Holy moly smoke, Frouf! That's awesome!!! YOU GO GIRLIE!
  • i hope i'm not too late to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

kathy, i have found that as your kids get older christmas gifts cost more. just wait till there are grands involved. it is fun buying for them and watching them open the packages. maybe that's what judd's parents are doing--getting their enjoyment from giving to ya'll.

frouf, girl, i have to tell you you are opening up a whole new world to me foodwise. i had escargot one time at a country french restaurant back in the 90's. i never dreamed you could get them on a pizza. i guess i've led a sheltered life--lots of beans and cornbread. (i've never even heard of smoked trout salad.)

melissa, the necklace is gorgeous!! it's going to look so pretty on you. have fun this weekend!

vickie, i'm sorry tonight's festivities were cancelled. i'm sure you and jim will do something fun tonight.

yo ho ho, danny!!! have a fantastic cruise!!

vickie, i just read about your plans for tonight. i knew ya'll would come up with something festive and fun.

    melissa, we have snow.

kathy, i've had those "whatever" times, too, in my former life. i am sorry you're going through them now.

    fabulous loss, frouf!!!!!

a box with christmas gifts to curtis and me arrived today from my son and his family down in texas. i am just like a kid. i told curtis we'll wait till in the morning to open them. well, maybe i'm not like a kid. a kid would open them immediately. we're going to curtis' dd at 11 am tomorrow for christmas brunch and gift exchange. life is good. we're having christmas afterall!!
    MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!
  • Well, I'm all done and just waiting for Santa too, Patti!

Frouf, OMG! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! It's so great to see what determination, working the program, and a little exercise can do. And, really, it wasn't too painful, was it?

Kathy, what is up with Judd? Still punishing you for not throwing Shaun out on his ear or kicking him when he's down? For crying out loud, it's Christmas. Why isn't this guy home with his family? I hope you have a nice evening. I saw you're having shrimp. I love shrimp cocktail. I'll be right over.

Sandra, you are TOO cute! I can hear the excitement in your voice. I'm glad that you and Curtis have something to do tomorrow.

I'm off to go shower and get dressed. Everything is done or as done as it is going to get. When I come downstairs, I'll cook dinner. After we clean up we'll open presents and watch The Santa Clause 2. Well, I'll be watching it. I'm thinking Jim will be reading all the White Sox World Championship Books that I gave him.

We don't have to be up until about 9:00 tomorrow which is REALLY wonderful. I'll cook us a nice breakfast and then we'll pack everything up to go to my Sister's house. We are probably leaving at 11:30.

I'll stop in to say Merry Christmas tomorrow. I won't be back tonight. Have fun everyone and be safe!
  • One final check-in before going to watch a movie in the family room. I think we're going to watch It's a Wonderful Life. Judd's friend just left and I didn't have to make a lot of snacks for them. Erin made some pigs in a blanket and they ate that but I didn't have any. Instead of snacks for dinner, I ended up making a salad and it was quite tasty!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.
