I have written to the moderator of the Core forum and asked about it. If it's against the rules, I'll delete it. Maybe you're right, that I put it in before the rules changed. ????

Dh and I went to Cold Stone tonight, and I tried the SF/FF Sweet Cream ice cream with raspberries. It was really good, although I only ate about 1/3 of the smallest size. I'm saving the rest for later. It was just so sweet! Guess that's a good sign, huh?
I'm going to bed soon. I think dh is going boating tomorrow, and taking the older dd's. Aaah. Maybe I'll work in the garden. Maybe I'll take a nap. :) Later! Angela |
Hey chicks!
I'm not even going to try to catch up tonight, but I'll be back tomorrow. I would have been here earlier but our internet has been messed up tonight. :p I guess its just as well, I've been feeling really tired tonight and have just been resting. I think that I might be getting sick...hopefully not! I did w/i this morning and miraculously I was the same as last week. After the week I have had it truly is a miracle! I was satisfied with that given my eating/no exercising this week. I am hoping to do better next week. I can't imagine what it would be like to step on the scale and see the 180's!!! Its been a long time! I am going to say good night for now, I'll "talk" to you guys tomorrow! |
I had a great day but I'm really tired now! I'll be back bright and early tomorrow. Not sure what time but Niece and her DH and Great Niece/Nephew are coming back to swim again tomorrow. They had fun tonight but I was only back in for about an hour. Hope you all had great evenings.

Hey Cher....I noticed my post is gone!!! how weird....is someone trying to tell me something :D I did read your answer and it made sense.....I guess my next question was.....Ok I understand about the soup thing (kinda) so if one should have stopped (Core) and not points, how do we explain.... we can eat a whole bag of popcorn on core or can we??? Or should the whole bag not be eaten or eaten until satisfied....
Thing is, not many people @ my meeting do core and so we don't go there much!!! Oh well....I'm still learing....counting and learning and measuring, the gamit!! I was however down .4 yesterdays w/i - whoop-de-doo!! Mostly core choice foods but low points day....go figure...I guess I better go back and read the article on 'The Science Behind Core' If you all think this board is fast...........I went to WW website and their Core group....good Lord, there had to pages and pages in just a few hours......talk about not catching up. Wow!!! I guess eventually I'll do something right...you're right Sandra...relax and enjoy it....whatever 'it' is  Have a good day all...........just thought I'd pop in...there is NO way I can ever catch up with all of you........Linda |
Hello Chicks! So do you consider 8:30 bright and early? We were TIRED from swimming and running around yesterday. I do feel rested and now I'm trying to decide if I should walk on the treadmill. I think I will but I know I'm going to be in the pool off and on all day. So with all the exercise I got yesterday why is my scale up this morning? I got on it with a big grin expecting to be down at least a pound and it was up about a half!!!
Linda, I didn't see your post but with Core how much we all eat is going to vary from person to person from meal to meal. Just like with points, I can eat more than you and still lose because I'm heavier and burn more calories than you just breathing. So now, I eat the whole can of soup. Maybe I won't some day. But, if I'm still hungry and not satisfied, I'm going to keep eating. Most of my breakfast, lunches and snacks are all pretty much one standard serving. Dinner is still my biggest meal of the day. I haven't gotten over that mentality yet. I'm just trying to make sure that we eat earlier in the day than we used to when we worked. We eat around 6:00 if I'm cooking and earlier if we are going out. We used to eat around 7:30 or 8:00. Good Luck! Melissa, my guess is that you feel tired from stress. That takes a real toll on a person's body. I hope you get out of that situation soon. What's up for the weekend? Does Aaron have anything going on with the new church? Angela, I've been wanting to know how that ice cream was. Is it worth 4 points? Were the raspberries unsweetened? I'm trying to figure out what to order and make sure I have enough points before I go anywhere near there. Kathy, I want a weather thingy too! I didn't know how to do it and I didn't know if you minded if I copied. Although, it IS the sincerest form of flattery! Sheesh, you had to work SO hard to give DS that money. I just have a feeling that all will work out. He sounds like he has a great support system in you and your Mom. I know your Mom makes you kinda crazy but it sounds like she steps up when's she needed?! Doesn't big DD want to move out before or with little DD? Maybe you'll be down to 1 baby bird soon! Sandra, I don't know if my math is right but I came up with 8 points for the whole 8 oz container of FF Cool Whip. I only have a 12 oz here but it said it is 38 servings at 15 calories per serving. So I multiplied 38 x 17 then divided the total by 3 then multiplied by 2 to get the calories for the 8 oz which is 2/3 of what I was using. I do WEIRD math. Anyway, I think the 8 container came out to 380 calories which is 8 points. Thanks for the recipe. It sounds fabulous. Now I have to find out if my math is right. I'm hoping that it is wrong. How many servings does the recipe make? It seems like it would make at least 6. If it's 4, I'll have to decide if I want to spend 2 points each serving on it. Decisions, decisions. BTW, I'm aiming to 150, even though WW says I should be lower. If I get to 150, I'll be very happy. Then I reevaluate. Jim is on the treadmill and making me ashamed so I guess I'll walk when he's done. Then I have to go plan my menu for the day. Kids will be back to swim some time today so I'm guessing dinner will be Chipotle. I'll cook tomorrow. But...I really have to plan some meals. I STILL haven't done it and I've been talking about it since last week. I'll talk with you all later today! |
Morning chicks! I slept in this morning and it felt wonderful. Didn't get up until almost 10:00!! But I've been fairly productive since then. Cleaned out all of the old stuff in the fridge and unloaded/loaded the dishwasher and went out with DH and the dog. So to be up for half an hour I'm doing fairly well! I don't know what is on my agenda today except for laundry, cleaning, planning meals and going to wal-mart. Well I guess that's plenty for a day off, isn't it? :D
Ok, I'm going to try to catch up! Angela, I'm sorry to hear about DH's cholesterol problems. My DH also has these problems, but has been trying to work on his eating/exercise. I worry like crazy though b/c he has a family history of heart problems. So I wish that he would take it more seriously. At least since I've been doing core we eat a lot less junk. I can see that it would be much more difficult with kids. I don't have to worry about DH eating the kid's food and that kind of thing. What really did it for my DH was being put on blood pressure meds, and he's only 27. That woke him up quite a big. Kathy, my prayers are w/your DS (and you!). I hope that his new job works out wonderfully and that he will be able to find his own place in life, separate from the opinions of others (as hard as that is). And give Zuki a kiss for me! Vickie, it sounds like you have so much fun with your niece and nephew. I'm sure they love having you around!! I also cannot get out of the habit of eating the biggest meal at night. In fact, I've noticed that I've started skimping on my lunches a lot. If I don't plan, cook something ahead, I end up eating a random little concoction of whatever I grab on my way to work. And then I'm not satisfied. Vicious cycle. Anyway, I'm like you. I eat a whole can of soup and whatever else. But as long as I am still seeing slow but steady losses, I'm not going to try to starve myself. :D I hope that you have fun in the pool today--you are earning some serious APs and I'm sure the scale will reflect it eventually. Thanks for asking about the weekend. DH is leading worship at the church Sunday--another audition of sorts I guess. He's my "American Idol." If anyone is interested you can listen to some of his music at www.aaronaustin.com. Am I allowed to post that? The committee is supposed to meet on Wednesday night, so we SHOULD hear something after that. ;) |
I hate it when my husband is traveling and anything that comes up I have to take care of. So found out that our homeowners insurance has been canceled since January 15, and we had to get some more for the mortgage. And of course no one goes out of their way to make it easier on you. So, I did finally get it taken care of yesterday, but the rates have almost tripled since the beginning of the year since we live in hurricane alley. And when I weighed in this week, I gained 2.8#. But I added up all of my losses and I have lost 14# since I started doing Core, which is more than I lost since last June. So will be watching what I eat more carefully this week.

Vickie! Yes, 8:30 is bright and early on a Saturday!! I woke up at 6:30 (when little DD came in but we won't talk about that right now). Played my handheld FreeCell and watched the news until around 8:00 when I went into DH's room to get dressed. He didn't know it was so late; his dad was going to be here at 9:00 to help him finish up the garage shelves. I dressed and left, and boy was it nice to just get out in the world before the heat sets in! I went to Kohl's and got 2 shirts and a pair of shorts, then went to the Kolache bakery and got a dozen sausage kolaches and a dozen fruit, then went and had my car washed, then went to Payless and bought 4 pairs of flip-flops. Little DD wears the same size as I do so we can share if she likes any of them. For the rest of the day, I'll just be hanging around. Tonight we are going downtown Fort Worth (Sundance Square - Sandra knows the area well!) to eat and hang out with our friends. The anniversary celebration has been scaled back a little since DH got his estimate on fixing his bike that he sorta wrecked while in California. It's a little over $4000! Um, YIKES??? Deductible is $500 and he already got the check from insurance, now he just has to figure out what parts he'll let the dealership supply and what parts he can find on his own to save a little money. That's his business though -- I told him just don't let this affect the checkbook! With me, it's all about the money.
Vickie, don't sweat that half pound up. I wonder with all that swimming if you're not starting to build up a little muscle?? Melissa, I would say it's fine to post that link! I'm going to go check it out in a few minutes. Continued prayers for Aaron and good news on the church job. We all want him to leave Target as soon as possible!! (Except ... does he get a discount?? ) I haven't heard back from the mod on that weather thing so I'm leaving it for now. I got it from someone at another board ...a ctually we all had them for our locations. If it's a no-no, you better believe I'll be getting rid of it! Don't want to honk off the kind people who have brought us all together!! LOL about my mom! Yes, she's a pain but she certainly surprised me when she said she was going to send him some money. Both are retired and live on SS and whatever little jobs they find. My dad is 72 and drives cars for a dealership. Like four guys in one car go to another town and drive four cars back; or four guys in four cars take them to another dealership and come back in one car. That sorta thing. It's a great job for an old guy. My mom is 73 and "babysits" old people. LOL at the old people thing though -- some of them are only a year or two older than her! She's down to one place right now and works four nights a week. She goes at 7:00 p.m., makes dinner for the lady, and then they watch a movie or a TV show or the news, go to bed, and she leaves at 7:00 in the morning. Quite an easy job for $84 everytime she goes! Getting paid to watch TV and sleep is my kind of job! So anyway, I guess they've been able to save a little and of course, Shaun will be paying them back as soon as he starts getting paid. I called him last night to make sure the car was fine and he said it was. Strike one more thing off my "worry list". Dinner tonight should be quite harmless if I stick to my plan. We'll probably go to Razzoo's, a Cajun restaurant, where I can get a blackened fish and steamed vegetables. I'll try to watch the drinking too; I have just about figured out that it's nothing more than a headache and very expensive pee. Vivian, you're doing fine. A setback one week isn't too bad considering your total loss on Core! And you better believe I'd be eating everything in sight if I found out I had no homeowners insurance! Scary!! Thank goodness nothing happened during that time and you found out before this year's hurricane season is in full swing! |
Alrighty, Suzanne wrote me back and said the temperature thing was fine. What they mean by no external links is no links to other websites. Some people join just to advertise for another site and not really because they want to stay a member here.
So if anyone wants to do their temperature and can't figure it out, send me your town and I'll do it, then PM you with the URL that you can paste into your signature. I don't know why it didn't work for Angela last night -- maybe they didn't recognize your town? Pick a neighboring larger one and see what happens. |
|
melissa, i could have copied your post and called it mine. won't it be great to get to the 180's? did you think you'd ever feel that way? 180's used to look like such a big number, didn't it? funny how our perspectives change. going down the scale is more fun than going up, isn't it? i hope you're feeling better. stress can make you sick. keep looking for another job if you're still unhappy. we don't like for you to be stressed.
angela, that ice cream is sweet, isn't it? dh and i od'd on some when we were in louisville back in march. we got so sick on it, we're not looking at going back. vickie, i envy you with your pool. do you swim or float? when i was married before and living in tx, i had a pool. i didn't swim much but i did a lot of floating and sunbathing and reading. (doesn't sound like much exercise, does it?) linda, where is that article about the science behind core? i haven't seen it. i'm interested, too, in what you find out about core. i'm retired and home most of the time (not active cuz of feet and laziness). i have trouble with satiety especially when i'm not into a project or something. yesterday i didn't eat much cuz i was gone to the archery shop. idle hands make for busy mouths, don't they? congratulations on losing .4 lb. i think that's impressive. your body is adjusting to a different regimen now. |
Sandra
I tried to cut and paste it, but that didn't work......so go to WeightWatcher.com
To the Core side....click on health ideas and go to second page....scroll down, you'll see it...or I'll try an PM you the link page..... |
Nope,that isn't going to work....sorry!!
|
vickie, thank you for your post. i had forgotten all about portion sizes needing to shrink according to your weight. i have to confess. i ate the pudding in 2 days. i had figured 10 pts (but it was 8, right?), so i had 4 pts per day. those were the only waps i used on those days so i'm all right. see? i have problems with portions, don't i?
i'm just 5'2". i have heart problems. my cardiologist said he wants me to weigh around 155 and definitely not lower than 150. (i have a good doctor, don't i?) anyway, i'm 58 years old and agree with him that there's no reason for me to be really small. all i want is to be healthy, happy and look good in clothes. i agree with you completely that 150 is a good number. we're going to have fun all the way, and we're going to get there smiling. curtis and i are going to the mall to buy a bday present for one of our grands. he's going to look for shoes. he wears size 15.5 so it won't be easy. we'll eat salad before we go. my podiatrist prescribed me limbrel, a new anti-inflamatory drug. i have to take it on an empty stomach and wait 1 to 2 hours before eating. i set the kitchen timer when i took it. you know that might be something to consider. eating to a timer. my mind is aware that i can't nibble during this time till the "gong" goes off. vivian, that's a bummer about the insurance. congratulations on losing those 14 lbs. i'll bet you're smiling. OMG, kathy, i love razzoo's. and sundance square, too. i haven't been there in years. i used to go there on dates back in my other life. dh and i have never been there. i'll have to get him there when we're in texas some time. have fun tonight. $4K is a lot. i'm glad he wasn't hurt. he was lucky, wasn't he? well, the timer just went off. i am going to go eat layered salad now. dh is eating chicken salad. i made his with regular mayo so it's not core. my salad is. have a super saturday. i'll be back later. |
Sandra I don't think my body know what the heck it's doing
I flexed all week... with a .4 loss.....dare I core this???? I might I'm not quite sure. I am however finding lots of great core recipes on different sites...I even went out and bought an indoor grill ( Hamilton Beach model) More bang for the buck then GF Grill and all the same do-dads....so now can't wait to do the crispy coremeal chicken....I was thinking of purchasing a Food Processor, do any of you cooks out there have one and get use out of it?? And Vickie I believe I saw your Egyptian Rice one...someone posted it and said it was deeee- lish but didn't remember where she found it...I just thought it was yours, because I haven't seen another one elsewhere....so reviews were great!! Caught up!! no such thing...not here :D :D This IS one busy board!! Information highway!!!! But ya gotta love it!!! Frouf- how did w/i go for you??? |
Melissa
Very impressive website!!! You and Aaron compliement each other :D .....and how cute is Murphy!!!ll Too cute, that's how cute!!
|
linda, thank you for the information. i posted it on my desktop. it's starting to sound like you're leaning more toward core. if we eat all those things we're supposed to on core, dairy, veggies, etc....., surely we'll lose some weight and get full at the same time. i'm making a blackberry cobbler now that's core. i'll let ya'll know if it's any good.
now i need to go see that website of kathy's. i'll be back later with a cobbler update. |
Hey you guys!!
Kathy, expensive pee...you are so hilarious. I hope that you enjoy yourself tonight! And I'm glad that you got to mark at least one thing off of your "worry list." I am a worrier too, have always struggled with that. $4000 to repair the bike! That is a heck of a lot of money isn't it?? Whew. Glad you had some time to yourself this morning...I love Kohl's!! Sandra, I know, I can't believe that I used to freak out when I weighed in the 180's...now I can't wait to get back there! Even though I've only lost about 13 pounds I feel much thinner than I was just a few months ago. So by the time I get to the 180's I can't imagine how much better I will feel. I am 5'7" and my problem is that I can hide weight fairly well. That's what people say anyway. Have fun shopping tonight and don't be too hard and your feet! Vivian, you have had really great success with core. Don't let that gain get you down, you'll continue to do great. Linda, thanks!!! I think that he's the cutest too! I have to go make a grocery list and plan everything out for the week. It is such a job, isn't it? I get tired of thinking so much about what I eat. OH, I meant to mention that I spent some time on the Flylady website last night...I think it was Angela who mentioned it? I am so impressed by it all that I think I am going to try to follow her home cleaning/organizing ideas...it is really interesting if anyone struggles with keeping things together like I do. |
Melissa, I'm a firm believer in God and all things related. I am so thankful for you and Aaron and for you posting his website link. Reading about him, and you, and your faith and beliefs and hopes ... well good grief, I feel like I've spent the whole day at a tent revival!!
And ... now don't get too excited about this ... I think I might go to church in the morning. I haven't been in probably 2 years. I was raised Southern Baptist, DH is Methodist (his mom was a Wesley and a direct decendent of the Methodist Wesleys). We went the whole time we were dating and first married, but after he started working a second job at Home Depot and I started working a second job at the fabric store and then at the neighborhood restaurant, we somehow stopped going. I'll be back tomorrow with an update but I just wanted you to know, and to tell your dear sweet hubby, that you can touch people's hearts without even realizing it. |
melissa, somehow i missed aaron's website earlier. i just saw it. very impressive. this is fabulous. i know you're both very proud--and well deserved, too!
|
Sandra were you able to find The Science Behind Core article on the WeightWatchers.com ???
I might do core this week, I seem to be 'eating' that way anyway and I am not, am not giving up.......I love to journal but I am finding in doing that I 'feel' like I am on a diet...this is something new I am experiencing, instead of a way of eating for life. I said before I am finding some very good recipes - just need to find the time, BUT Terry has inspired me with that!! Vickie it's so hot here I can't help but think of you in your pool right :beach: outside your own door!! How wonderful that must be!! You also are sooooo encouraging to me, always some word of inspiration for me. I so appreicate that, because I am sooo struggling. I think I just may have a new mindset and have learned a lot from reading on other core suppport boards.. not posting but I am finding ..everyone no matter where they are, are going through the same things...the day to day battle to those of us who want so much to be a success, and that embodies us all. Be it 10, 50 100 we all have our journey ahead of us. I still have to watch my portions, and even questioned the popcorn, but someone else suggested if I felt 'guilty' eating the entire bag, coring, the satisfied/full thingyh....then...micro the Mini Bags.....duhhhhh I never even thought of that. The things you learn....... I hope you all are having a good day... Kath, enjoy your evening out!! I just went back and read some long unread post that I just never can seem to get to and, I saw your picture......where in the heck do you think 10 lbs is going to come off of you!!!!! You look fantastic!! Have fun tonight.... and I hope things work for your son...don't know if they have or not, so much yet to read.... :crossed: for him!! Well I better go read.....hope this post stays here....how weird that mine was missing....... :?: |
Any one with any advise on the Food Processor....any Cooks on line????
|
Linda (L.J.), the only food processor I have is a tiny 2 cup size one that I got for free when we refinanced. I find it's faster to chop stuff myself, with the time it takes to get it all out and set up. I do use it to shred potatoes for hash browns, or carrots for stir-fry. It doesn't work very well as an actual food processor, although I'm sure a bigger, more powerful one would work a lot better. Do you do a lot of chopping? Then it might be worth your while.
I'm interested in that Science behind Core article too. Angela |
I have a teeny one cup Cuisinart processor that I use only when making fresh salsa. It's great for chopping lots of onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc. Other than that, I rarely remember it's on the shelf!
I have one more day on my eTools subscription and am looking fast and furiously for the Science Behind Core article. I've seen it before and know it's there!! |
Angela/Kathy.....go to WeightWatchers.com
where is says you are on The Core Plan - if it isn't already set there. Click on Health and Fit and the Health Ideas....go to page two....and scroll down. You'll see it!! It's interesting on 'how it works' Good Luck!! |
Got it! Here it is ...
When you first learn about the Core Plan, you might think, "How can this actually work? It sounds too good to be true." Well, it does work – and there's sound science behind it. About TurnAround First, it's important to understand the big picture: TurnAround™. Weight Watchers has put its years of experience and scientific study into learning what works, and TurnAround is the result. With TurnAround, you can achieve healthy weight loss using an approach that incorporates your own needs and preferences. TurnAround offers two food plans: the Flex Plan and the Core Plan. Both the Flex Plan and the Core Plan help you make wise choices and eat nutritiously. Both plans enable you to reduce calories — the key to weight loss, and deliver healthy nutrition and livability. How does the Core Plan work? Weight Watchers has tested the healthy-eating strategies that support weight loss in both of our food plans. These strategies include: Choosing foods that are low in energy density Selecting whole-grain foods instead of those that contain mostly refined carbohydrates and are low in fiber. The Core Plan provides you with an approach to healthy weight loss that supports the selection of low-energy-density foods as well as fiber-rich ones by using a list of foods that have been specifically researched and tested for weight-loss benefits. What is Energy Density? You know a cup of ice cream has more calories than a cup of broccoli. That, in a nutshell, is energy density – the number of calories in a given volume of food. Foods with a high-volume/low-calorie ratio are low-density foods. So for example, most vegetables have a low energy density; most high-fat desserts or fried foods have a high energy density. Why is the Energy Density of a Food Significant? Why not just count the calories? Because foods that have a low energy density will be more satisfying, and you will feel fuller after meals. And if you eat more of the foods that have a low energy density, you'll still be able to enjoy the occasional treat in moderation. Filling your daily diet with low-energy-density foods increases eating satisfaction with fewer calories because these foods are usually higher in water content, lower in fat, and in some cases, higher in fiber. Filling Up on Fiber Choosing whole-grain foods, such as whole-wheat pasta and oatmeal, improves eating satisfaction and often provides more nutrients. For example, a cup of whole-wheat pasta contains more fiber (which helps protect against diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer) and is a better source of nutrients such as zinc and vitamin B6 than regular (white) pasta. Oatmeal contains more disease-fighting fiber and far less sugar than many low-fiber, high-sugar breakfast cereals. Nutritious Eating with the Core Plan The Core Plan works by focusing your food choices on a group of wholesome, nutritious foods that are lower in calories and provide eating satisfaction. Foods that are not on the Core Food List include those that provide "empty" calories as well as some that can trigger overeating. The foods that are on the Core Food List fill you up with fewer calories than other food choices. Eating from this list of foods ensures the reduction in calories that is needed for weight loss — without tracking or counting. And, if any of the foods on the list trigger overeating for you, it's a smart idea to choose these foods sparingly or not at all. On the Core Plan, you'll find that eating primarily from a list of wholesome, nutritious foods makes weight loss easy. |
Hey hey! I'm back from the beach! You guys have been busy. I was trying to catch up on all the posts, but so far have only gotten to page 7 or 8. The beach was great, the weather was great, my eating wasn't too bad......one donut, no ice cream, a little piece of funnel cake and I was trying to order grilled or broiled when we went out for dinner, but some places seemed to only have fried.
Sandra - when I was going to curves I was having problems with my foot. Ended up being plantar fasciitis, but anyway, with a Drs. excuse Curves put my membership on HOLD, then after a while and another Drs. excuse, they let me cancel. Said if I ever wanted to rejoin just let them know I was a member before and they wouldn't charge me a sign up fee. Gotta get these kids some dinner. I'll try to catch up and be back later. Lisa |
Thanks Kath, I didn't even think to copy and paste....and post it here....duhhh!! :dizzy:
So are you going to re-up Etools or just stick with 3fc?? Weight Watcher site now has a Science Center.....makes for real good reading....don't know if you need etools or not....perhaps not!! check it out!! BTW-my weather/clock thingy didn't work either. I clicked on properties but it wouldn't allow me to copy the url??? Is the time shown real time??? cause yours and Angelas or course differs by hour but by minutes?? I also would love to know where and how you get your cute avatars... I WAS thinking of putting a chick with the lbs lost.....maybe that would give me incentive :D Would Kathy or Sandra or who ever knows tell me what that....the day starts at midnight or ends at midnight or what ever it is.....I never read that post and I see it written sometimes....thanks!! And thanks for the headsup on the food processors!! |
linda, i haven't looked at the ww site yet. i will later. are you going to post some of your new recipe finds for us? i like terry's idea of eating something different. i've been in a rut. (lots of polenta) i don't have a food processor. i'm eager to read others' comments on them.
oh, i see kathy has posted the ww core info. thanks, kathy. i appreciate your help. have fun tonight. have "something" for me. anything! |
Lisa, glad that you had a good time at the beach. Only a bite of funnel cake?? I love that stuff!!!
Linda, you can get avatars under your control panel, same place where you mess with the signatures. Click on "User CP", then "Edit Avatar", then select a category, click on the circle underneath, and presto! You have your own "personal" avatar. Hope that made sense! |
Sandra, I was wondering the same thing....Linda, would you post links to the websites where you are getting new recipes? I'm always up for trying new stuff. Thanks!
Oh, and I don't know a thing about food processors. I have a little tiny one but like Kathy the only time I use it is to make salsa. We got it as a wedding gift. |
lisa, it's good to see you back. do you have a good tan? sounds like you had a lot of fun. thanks for the tips about curves. i've decided to let my membership lapse if my feet don't get better soon. i start pt tuesday. i'll ask my trainer about curves and see what he thinks. i paid cash up front for a year. i know i've wasted a lot of money. i will not be rejoining when my year's up. i can exercise at home with videos and treadmill. why didn't i do that all along?
linda, in one of zig ziglar speaches he says that we can get control of our lives. we don't need to let past mistakes keep us from starting fresh. none of us is perfect. he says, "today really does end at midnight. tomorrow is a new day." (those aren't his exact words but close.) zig's made some cd's for curves members. i have 3 of them. they are loaded with helpful tips and wonderful quotes. he's such a positive person. listening to him some of his enthusiasm is bound to rub off. curtis and i listen to him a lot in "automobile university." Linda ... you silly heart! I just love reading your posts! Someone said one time "today ends at midnight" which is another way of saying that we can always start over tomorrow! Of course my problem is that I am starting over every morning.
Now the only advice I have about the temperature box is this: right click on mine and go down to properties. Copy and paste that in another browser window, then change the TX to your state and the Arlington to your city. Copy that URL into your signature in the UserCP and it should work. If not ... I don't know what else to suggest. Except that I can put EVERYONE's city in my signature if I have to! What a hoot that would be!! Okay, well we're about to leave. I must say I look darned cute. I just washed and curled my nappy hair, and am wearing my new jean shorts, a black sleeveless tank that has a mock insert across the boobs (like it's a straight neck white shirt under a black deep v-neck) ... and my new black and white polka dot flip-flops. It doesn't take much to get me all excited, does it? Give me $20 and I can buy an entire outfit! (Okay, the underwear is all original, but everything else I got this morning.) The plan is Rockfish Grill for dinner and then downtown Fort Worth for the rest of it. I'm so darned hungry that I had better be careful. I'll be back tomorrow. After church, that is. :D |
i forgot to mention that a couple of years ago i bought a spirooli. do any of you have that? do you use it? mine's just catching dust even though i got some recipes for using it on bcb back when they had a spirooli thread. (i think it was called a zoodle thread)

What the heck is a spirooli????

Kathy, I hope that you have a great time tonight. I have never heard of that restaurant, I guess we don't have one here in the sticks of KY. We do have a Bonefish Grill, which sounds remarkably similar, doesn't it? Who knows. Anyway, have fun and I'll talk to you tomorrow or later tonight! :D Oh, and I can't even see your temperature thing anymore! I used to, until everyone started talking about it. Now I don't even see it. Is it just me?
Sandra, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never even heard of that thing!! You could be talking in a foreign language for all I know! Oh I just crack myself up. |
i don't recommend getting a spirooli. but a lot of folks use them to crank out noodle type foods out of zucchini. we can have ww pasta so we don't really need it. i did enjoy zoodling (making noodles) out of potatoes, though. remember curly fries? they are good--but alas! my spirooli is in the pantry--unused and unloved.

Well, you know, things are slower here in Iowa... :D Actually, I think the time is different on mine because this particular weather sticker only updates every once in a while, not continuously like Kathy's.
I found that I had to do a little html editing to make it work. When I tried it Kathy's way, it couldn't find the website at all. I'll try again though. Angela |
Sandra, I sent you a pm but I don't think that you've gotten it. I was just wondering if you used vanilla or banana flavored pudding when you made the banana pie? I think I am going to make one tomorrow for my step-dad's bday and I'm going to the store tonight. Which would you recommend?
