melissa, sounds like you have a good plan tomorrow. let us know how you do.
|
Good Morning Chicks! I won't be here long this morning because I have to get ready to go shopping with my Niece and my Sister. I already hit Fashion Bug and their clothes are terrible and cheap this year. I'll be going to my favorite plus size store, Catherines and also to the Avenue which I haven't been to in years. I really need some tops to get me through the summer. I'll be leaving here around 9:45 because my Niece has to be home by 3:30 to go to another party. I'm trying to convince her to stop for lunch but she is in power shopping mode. I guess I better bring some carrots with me!
Angela, I think the one day would be best for me if I were in your position. Eating non-Core foods every day would be a slippery slope for me. I think before I knew it, I would be eating non-Core foods more than Core foods! Melissa, I'm sorry to hear that you had a tough dinner at the Mexican restaurant. I'm a firm believer in NOT letting myself get too hungry because I know that is when I have no self-control. As long as you hop right back on program, drink alot of water, and exercise a bit you should be ok. I'll have to practice what I preach today on my shopping trip. Gotta get going. I decided that I'm not walking on the treadmill until later. Have a wonderful relaxing Sunday. I'll check in with all of you later. |
Happy shopping, Vickie! I hope you buy something pretty!
I'm waiting for DH and his friend to get here. He called at 8:45 and said they were two hours away. They sounded exhausted and said they didn't want to eat when they got here, just will go straight to bed. I think 26 hours of driving is insane, but they didn't want to stop halfway here. Anyway it'll give me a few hours to go to the store and figure out what we're going to eat tonight. I think we'll go out, but I might as well have a back-up plan too. Everyone have a great day! |
Good morning everyone! Vickie, I hope you find some beautiful clothes at a great bargain. :)
Sundays are hard, because we have church from 11 to 2, so I have to eat an early lunch, and I'm SO hungry by the time I get home. I have it planned pretty well today though, I think. Gotta go pack up the diaper bag and get the girls dressed and prettied up. :D Angela |
Morning chicks! Its been a pretty good day (in general) but not a good day for eating. Let's just say I had a bad breakfast. :( But it was good. Visited the church that Aaron is interviewing with this morning, and then got some breakfast. I need to go to the grocery store today but am almost afraid to with Memorial Day tomorrow. Maybe I'll just wait and go tomorrow. DH has to work an extra long shift tonight so we don't have plans to do much of anything with the rest of the day. Although I do have to clean out the refrigerator, from which a really terrible smell is coming. I don't know what has gone bad in there, but its really bad, whatever it is.
Sandra, I had a good plan, already messed it up. But I'm not worrying over it. No point. But I am planning on guzzling water, exercising, and not eating anything salty tonight (a.k.a popcorn!!). I always seem to eat a lot of salt the night before my "official" w/i. Kathy, I can't believe your husband drives for so long like that. I would go nuts. I can barely handle a five-hour drive! :D Vickie, good luck with your shopping today! I'm going to try to take your advice for today! Water and exercise, here I come! Well I'm off to clean out the fridge and maybe take a little nap with DH?? See you all later! |
Well, they're finally here and messing up my house already! I guess it was nice while it lasted, but I'm glad he's home!
They're also messing up my plan ... they decided NOT to sleep but to watch TV instead. I went to Burger King and got them some food; and tonight I will grill if the weather holds up. I'm leaving now for the store to get things to cook. Be back later! |
vickie, have fun shopping. do you have a lane bryant's near you? i got me some clothes there while we were in texas in april. we don't have a lane bryant's here in montana. wish we did.
kathy, i'll bet you're ready for dh to be home. sounds like you have a good evening planned. angela, sundays have always been hard for me, too. i can't explain it. i used to think it was because i worked all week and the weekends gave me more time to eat. now i'm retired and i still have eating problems on sundays. weird, huh? we're going to friends' tonight for dinner. she's making ww chicken enchiladas. i'm bringing a tossed salad, fruit salad, and ww dreamcicle cake. i'm going to have to count points tonight. my main goal is for this meal to be one meal only and not a trigger for overeating the next few days. right now, i'm doing well on core and want to keep it that way. have a good day. i'll be back later. melissa, i'm usually starved for something like popcorn the night before wi's. we're a lot alike, aren't we? i like your attitude. it doesn't do any good to fret about the past. it's the present we need to focus on. |
Kathy, sorry the guys messed up your plans...I can't imagine wanting to do anything besides sleep after driving 26 hours! Have fun grilling out tonight, that sounds like fun.
Sandra, Thanks for your encouragement. The meal you described sounds really yummy! And it doesn't sound like it should be too high in points. Enjoy yourself and try not to worry about all of that too much! Oh and I think that I forgot to congratulate you on your tournament results the other day. Way to keep up with the guys! ;) I bought a "teach yourself to crochet" kit today and it is frustrating the heck out of me. I thought that it would be relatively easy but so far no good. A girl I work with has done it for quite some time though and said she would teach me. I guess I just need to wait until she can show me instead of trying to learn it from a book. They make it sound so easy! I think I would do much better to watch someone do it. Do any of you crochet? I want to learn how because I spend a lot of time waiting (for clients, etc) in my job. I thought at least I could do something productive with all of that waiting time. My best friend is having a baby in October and I wanted to learn before then so that I could make him or her something. DH is asleep and I'm thinking of taking the pooch for a walk. We both need one. :D |
melissa, thank you for the compliments.
i had a blast yesterday and, hopefully, this "mock" tournament will get us all ready for the state outdoor championship june 11-12. it's going to be held near glacier park. dh and i are going to compete on the am of june 11 then be tourists up at glacier. we'll compete again on the 12th. my goal here is to set a new state record for women over 55. it's amazing, but being op helps with my shooting. i guess it's really not amazing. it's all part of self-esteem. we watched a dvd yesterday called "what the bleep do we know?" it's not really a movie but a documentary about what an important part of what happens is caused by our minds. i have to admit we thought i'd rented a movie and were surprised--but--we liked it. it talks a lot about the power of positive thinking. there's one scene where the star (a lady) looks in the mirror and sees her hips as large. much larger than they actually are. the scene goes on to show how this false identification affects her. i wish some of you would watch this dvd and tell us what you think of it. |
Melissa, I have crocheted all my life. I can't knit anymore though; but actually prefer to crochet because I can keep the tension steady and it looks a lot better (IMO) than my knitting! Wait until she can show you. I can never pick up anything out of a book; my grandma taught me when I was about 6. I've made one of everything that you can possibly crochet and now I just stick to winter scarves for the little children at the night shelter. I try to make at least 25 each year to give them at Christmas. Since you never know who, what ages or sexes, etc. will be there over Christmastime, I have to make lots of pink/purple and also lots in blue/black. So far this year I only have the pinks started, but this fall when it starts cooling off I will be able to make one per evening.
Anyway, sorry to run off on a tangent like that! You'll figure it out soon and will enjoy it. It relaxes me a lot, unlike these &*($%^ potholders! I got two nice ribeyes for the guys, and bought filet mignon for me. I'm going to bake some potatoes, make a salad, probably some corn on the cob ... and I think that's all. Oh and I got a box of roasted garlic Triscuits. I had to open them while putting away the groceries and managed to just eat *ONE* cracker before putting them in the pantry, but OMG they are awesome!! Six crackers (and they're a nice size) are 2 points so I think I'm keeping this for my snack for a while. If I add a wedge of light Laughing Cow cheese for another point, that's a 3 point snack that makes me think I'm really eating something bad!! They are THAT GOOD!! Looks like rain -- at least the Rangers and White Sox are in the 7th so maybe they'll be able to finish out the game. I dearly love rain but not when my beloved Rangers get postponed!! |
kathy, your snack idea sounds good. so does your dinner. enjoy!!
|
Well dang it, it's raining ... so if at dinnertime it's still coming down, I think I'll save the steaks and just suggest going out to dinner. I'm not that excited about standing over a grill in the rain.
Now I'm thinking about switching to Core for the week. My week doesn't exactly start until Tuesday (after the holiday) so I can still decide. Even though my weigh-in will be Saturday, I think I would be okay switching on Tuesday. I'm not exactly eating according to either right now anyway! I just made a big pot of pinto beans which can be eaten all week, and have chicken breasts / filet mignons to grill ... plus baked potatoes. Sounds like Core to me!!! I'll decide soon because this going back and forth is putting a strain on me! Again ... you'd think I was trying to make a major life decision!! Good grief, it's only a eating plan -- get a big grip!! |
Kathy your last post cracked me up!! God do I understand where you are coming from. The two of us are too much are we  As soon as I read the one about the Filet Mignons I thought..that sounds more like Core, why 'waste' those points of beef....as delicious as it is...
You are too funny..with the remark of "you'd think you were trying to make major life decision" That just cracked me up because I can so relate! Couldn't help but notice you also changed your registered user to Chubby Chick....you are so funny  I bet you'd be a blast to hang out with. Anyway.....Thank goodness we have the option of switching, and since yours doesn't start till tomorrow...go Core...for at least the week.... it really IS simpler, except for dessert (well for me) that is my downfall. Frank told me he feels and STILL believes I SHOULD do Core, and allow for 5 WPA a day for 'treats' if need be. ...I Flexed these past few days but actually ate most core foods myself. It's weird isn't it. If you look at the journal the Points are there for the point count, but most being Core there aren't many points at all.......i-yia-yia :fr: Good thing we can't really get kicked out of the group cause the Lord knows I would have been out a long time ago  I was not good at all today but I planned on it that way. Tomorrow I will be back on program. I want to feel a little lighter on Monday if you all know what I mean. I have good stuff in the house and have gotten rid of all the crap that sucks me in. Good choices are best no matter which program we are following. Core did teach me one thing, to make better choices even when counting points. Angela I have been meaning to say how great you are doing. You should be so proud. You seem to have it all together. Are you still weighing in once a week or every other?? As for one non Core day, I think it's a good idea as long as you stay in control. I think someone said it can lead to wanting to do it more...I am paraphasing but you know what I mean. I did not cheat for entire year, then allowed myself once a week..Saturday night!! I did great and then as you all know messed up somewhere between last Oct and now.....I am very committed to getting this off. I know it will take time but it is what I have to do, even if I choose to switch each week. I hope everyone else had a great weekend end. I am chalking today up to a lost cause, and not feeling bad about it at all. I will continue my journaling for the rest of this week and enjoy my ice cream tonight. It is pouring here right now, tis the season!! Can't wait to hear how every one did this weekend. You all are so good!! Thank Goodness for all of you. I have noticed nothing from Deborah or Terry in a while. Perhaps busy over the weekend. Take care chicks.....see you all tomorrow.. |
Kathy I am still laughing at that post :-) :-) Just had a thought too.. How about you and I doing Core 100% the next six days and see what the result is on on Saturday weigh in?? We can of course use our WPA.
Whatdaya think?? Anyone else who tends to slip a bit is welcomed too. Just a thought.....Maybe 'together' we CAN do this.... |
OHH! Frap! A challenge? You and I do Core 100% for SIX WHOLE DAYS???
%^&*(!!! Is that possible???? Oh ... okay. Starting tomorrow morning. I will do Core for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. That's five days, but then on Saturday when I weigh in, we'll see what has transpired. I need to drink water and not beer. Period, end of sentence. So are you in??? |
