Default Getting Ready to Start Core

Hello Everyone:
I have been reading your meal ideas and recipes. I am getting ready to start CORE on Thursday. Right now I am doing FLEX. I really wanted to have a lot of information, food ideas before I started.

How have your loses been on CORE?
Do you cook everyday?
Any fast quick meal ideas you would like to share?

Thanks and I am going to keep reading.

Losses will be consistent if you stick with it. Most of us cook dinner every night; or cook a big meal and have leftovers for a few days. There are a TON of recipes out there, check our recipe board.

If you're sick of journaling and counting calories/points, and can stick with a plan, you should really like Core!

Welcome! You'll find tons of information on this board. It's very active, and everyone here has such great ideas and inspiration.

Regarding your questions, I've lost all but 12 pounds of my weight on Core, since Nov 2004. I cook everyday, yes, but that's because I like cooking. If I didn't, I would cook a bunch of Core stuff one day, and save it to use during the week. There aren't very many convenience foods that are Core-friendly, although you can get pretty creative. For recipes, check out the Recipe of the Day thread, and the Core Recipes sub-board (scroll to the very top of this WW Core board). Also, Barbo's Diet Kitchen has thousands of recipes - the url is www.barbosdietkitchen.com .

Feel free to post your information on our Profiles board, and come join us on the Core Support thread - we're on #15 now. That's where we hang out most of the time.

Welcome again!

Disney, Welcome! I love WW and Core. I've done Flex and it's predecessors several times but have been the most successful with Core. I've lost 33 pounds since the end of September. I love Core because I'm not starving all the time. It forces me to eat healthy foods that I didn't choose for myself when I was doing Flex. I'm 48 with a really messed up metabolism and I'm still averaging 1.14 pounds per week.

Give it a try. I'd recommend at least a month. We'll help you as much as we can! These are a great group of ladies we have here. I couldn't do it without them.

Thanks everyone. I am so freaking out about this weight loss this time. I have done Flex and had great success with it two years ago. Lost 50 pounds. Well managed to gain 70 back. OUCH!

So now I need to get it together and lose the weight. CORE really sounds like what I need. I don't want to count points anymore. I feel so counted out LOL if that is possible. And I really want to get ride of the junk in my life.

Thanks and I will be here lurking for the next few days. Might through out a question or 2 also.

Hi disney,

Core is a great way of eating as it is healthy and nutritious and can cut lots of cravings for non-nutritious (read junk) foods!

I have lost 23 lbs since January and feel I can eat this way forever!

Also want to know when you're going to disney?? We're heading to Orlando in July and hope to see Mickey and the gang when we're there!

Good luck!

I will be in Disney Nov. 19-25. Going with my son, sister and niece. Thanksgiving week. I can't wait only 209 days to go.

I want to lose 50 pounds by then.

How exciting! We will be going beginning of July to attend my brother's surprise 50th birthday bash in Gaineswille Florida - going via Orlando so kids have started a "mickey campaign" at our house!

This was also the impetus for me joining WW in January - wanted to lose at least 1 lb per week to get me to 26 lbs for the trip. I am currently "ahead" of schedule w/23 lbs gone so maybe I can get to 35 by that time!
