  • Lisa, I know it's disheartening when you don't lose as much as you're hoping for. The exercise WILL help but you're so close to goal ... maybe that's one reason the pounds are coming off more slowly. I'm back on track today so thanks for encouraging me. Planning to do my 30 minutes on the elliptical when I get home and I bought some 3 pound weights at lunch today so I'm going to get up 10 minutes earlier in the morning to start my O magazine exercises. Just have to work on the water so thanks for reminding me about that!

Ouch, Froufie! No more pizza for me! My head's not hard enough!
  • And Froufie, you REALLY don't have to shave your legs? What a gift that is!! Lucky you!
  • Lisa, I hear you loud and clear on the disappointment! I am SO stuck ... and feel like I'm doing all the right things. The only other things I can do is completely cut out the coke and beer, but I am incorporating the points into my day and am not going over the allotted 20 for my weight. It's puzzling, but I know that plateaus happen to everybody.
  • Don't Hate Me Cuz I'm Beautiful....
...hate me cuz I DON'T HAVE TO SHAVE MY CHUNKY LITTLE LEGS (yes I have legs but they sure could use some help!)... By a weird genetic quirk of fate I was lucky enuf to inherit my mom's skin and she never had to shave her legs, and neither do I...quite a perk I understand. (My arms are pretty hairless too).

Poor dd unfortunately got her father's genes??? and is not as lucky. The funniest is when she asked to start shaving her legs (about 1.5 years ago?)...and could I show her? Are you kidding? What do I know about such things? (told her to ask her father - ha ha ha).

The best was a locker conversation I was privy to a while ago - one young lady was talking about a "date" that evening and she was going to shave her legs "just in case"..... everyone seemed to understand except me. "Just in case of what" I asked? (like an innocent froufie)... you know she says - "just in case!".... me again "just in case what?". Now all the ladies in the locker room are looking at me like I'm a big dolt! (which I guess I was)....then the light bulb went off - and I UNDERSTOOD - oh in case of "that"! (well you see I never had to worry about something like that hence my stupidity about being "ready" for that hot date, just in case!).

    Dumbunny Froufie
  • Froufie, you are funny. I'm lucky in that I have very blonde hair, including on my legs, so unless you're up close, you can't really tell the hair is 2" long. But I'm not as lucky as hairless you.

The things we learn about each other!!

    Angela
  • Poor innocent Froufy -- you're not a dumbunny, you're a cutiepiebunny! That was a good one!

Nothing is worse than being sick in bed and needing to shave your legs. Especially if you have fever and chills, and the little pokey hairs irritate you because they scrape on the sheets! But on the opposite end of that ... nothing feels better than getting into a nice smooth cool bed with really nicely-shaven legs! See what you're missing out on, Frouf?
  • Okay, I just typed a whole post and don't know where it went. Basically it said, that I too do not have to shave my legs very often. Don't know what happened; started during my pregnancy with DD 11 yrs. ago. Before that I was a shaver. Dr. doesn't seem to care. I thought it might be hormonal or thyroid, but they are not concerned. I guess I was looking for some explanation on why I keep gaining weight. I guess it's just old age.

    Lisa
  • Hi everyone:

My, you all are busy. I just popped in to thank whoever invented the pizza glop recipe. I made some and froze it over the weekend and then broke it out last night. Very tasty (although mine ended up being more like lasagne glop). Even better, my kids both loved it. Definitely a keeper. I only made half a recipe, because I didn't want a lot of leftovers. No danger of that! I wish I'd doubled it.

My week is going well. I seemed to be lower this morning, although we'll see if it lasts until Saturday.
  • Cher, we are all going to meet in the new CORE chat room tonight at 9:30, check the thread called Chat me Up?

    Lisa
  • Hey everyone, thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll be happy as long as I'm losing. For 2 yrs. I belonged to another group, not called "Bottoms", but everyone was doing something different and in the two years I was there, I gained 8 lbs., so at least most of that has come off and I seem to be on some sort of a roll.

See you in the Chat tonight. DD has ballet and hip hop tonight, so I must get on her about her homework and stuff some food into her before she goes. Having friend problems at school, seems as though none of the girls can get along. She and her friend want me to investigate boarding schools. Oh, to be 11 again.

    Lisa
  • Thanks for the invitation, mumto2, but I'm in California, so I'll be up to my elbows in dishes or homework or something of the sort. My husband is taking a Spanish class one night a week, so I'm on my own.
  • Frouf, you're too funny. "In case of what?" heheh. Actually, My grams never had so shave anything at all. She's pretty much hairless, except for the top of her head, and according to her, always has been. As for my legs, I really only have to shave my shin, basically. No hair grows on my calves, really. Weird how that works.

I had a weird WI tonight, so I'm not sure how to feel. I've been weighing at home (first thing in am, opposed to Wed pm) and yesterday, I only showed a -.4, but then this morning it was gone. BUT, when I got to WI, I showed a -2.2!! Which I totally don't get. They clocked me at 162, but when I came straight home, I was 163.8.

Of course, I did have a plumbing issue monday, and toilet water got all over my scale. However, it still SEEMED to be giving me what I thought was a consistent weight.

I'm afraid that there was a problem with the scale at WW, so I'm nervous to be all excited, and then show some big gain next week, when they re-calibrate.

Mom didn't lose this week. (same scale as I was on) She stayed exactly the same, and was pretty discouraged. She was sick this week, though, so I told her I think it was that. Plus, the whole thing about your body needing to adjust to change.

    Anyway, that was my night.

I'll try to make chat later, but DH has been working late,. and he's on his way home, so I want to spend some time with him.

  • For goodness' sake - TAKE THE LOSS!!! Are u kidding? No way can you "deny" a 2.2 loss! It's yours - accept it and move on!

Back from the movies where we got a free small bag of popcorn (wed night promotion!)...and guess what I couldn't finish the small bag? How unbelievable is that? (in the "old" days used to inhale a whole bucket then get the free refill). I did have dinner before we left (brown rice and chicken/veggie stirfry) and actually did not have a lot of it. I had about 1/2 the small bag then it started to feel a bit "tedious" and I noticed I was eating "just cuz it was there"...so handed it over to dh to finish (yes he had already inhaled his free small bag and was "looking" for more!). Also had some diet coke which helped!

The only downside is I had planned to exercise this evening and obviously didn't - which is not a good thing! Did drink lots of water today. Just heading into PMS week but keeping fingers crossed that the scale willl be "cooperative" this saturday!

Almost bedtime - will check in tomorrow. Sorry I missed the chat - hope to join in next time!

    Froufie
  • Actually this thing is getting toooo looong...time for a "trim".
