Since we are all getting to know each other, I thought I'd post my pictures. :)

Vickie, I'd definitely make it again. I'm thinking a turkey pepperoni version might be yummy. :)

oh dear oh dear. what a night for me to not be on the board.....frouf I am here for you too. i am glad though that he got things out in the open whether it is the truth or an excuse.....it is a start....and to transfer his feelings of this onto the children is beyond me. holy crap. i think he has issues that he needs to figure out himself, i am sure not working has a lot to do with it..but to blame it all on an outward appearance; what about who you really are inside?????....you keep your chin up tho' don't get down on yourself because you have come such a long way! do this for you!
deborah, happy birthday! and enjoy your cake! we can not deprive ourselves of special moments and a birthday is not a birthday without a cake. vickie, weigh in water cut off time, i usually have my last water at 5. my weigh in is about 645 but i always visit the washroom before the scale.......every little ounce will show up right? so today is my day at work to run down the hall on the hour every hour! kathy, going to go and have a look at those pictures in a minute, thanks for sharing. if i have time i will find one of me (of my good side! ya right) and post it when i get home......always so nice to put a face to a name. will be off and on today.......seems busy here for whatever reason.....but hey, only -24........brrr......still wore a jean skirt to work though......i know i know dressing for fashion again |
Kathy, I loved your pictures! What a beautiful house you have and I love the shots of your kitties ... especially the tonsils shot! :) All of the pictures were wonderful ... it must be nice to be as photogenic as you are! You look so happy and pretty and as I mentioned before, I can only aspire to reach the weight you are now! You look great!!
Frannie and Vickie and any other Thursday WI folks, :goodluck: Sending lots of good vibes to you for WI tonight. Thanks for the birthday well wishes from all of you. I'm going to have a slice of cake and enjoy every morsel! After all, I'm 46 now ... closer to 50 than 40. And what's weird is ... I still feel like I'm in my 20's ... until I look in the mirror! :) Happy Thursday to all of you ... stay warm in your chilly parts of the world! Deborah |
Vickie, I would ask you for your from scratch carrot cake recipe but I am the laziest cook alive and would never make it. I'll bet it's scrumptious though ... I had to laugh when I read your comment about not getting fat from eating bad food. I personally wish I was as discerning as you ... I think I'm fat from eating any kind of food, good or bad! :)
I may try my hand at your glop stuff recipe that Angela highly endorsed. It sounds more manageable for me. And I do intend to try one or both of your corn meal recipes that you posted the other night. It's great that you and Angela are so good about sharing recipes that you've tried and that actually tasted good. I've found that many of the recipes from the WW board don't live up to my expectations ... but perhaps my expectations are too high! It's kind of hard to get 20 points worth of taste out of 2 points worth of ingredients! :) Deborah |
Deborah, LOL!!! "20 points worth of taste out of 2 points worth of ingredients" So true!!
Angela |
Kathy, I'm just learning to work my first digital camera. I'll go look at your pictures after I read our board. I LOVE pictures....taking and looking. I don't know how to put my pictures on these sites. I know Webshots is free but I haven't tried to use it yet. I don't have any digital pictures of me or me and hubby. I'll have to see if I can get someone to take one. THEN you'll see why I'm trying so hard to get all this weight off! OOOOHHHHH Frouf, your husband would NOT be happy with me! I'm gonna give my Hubby an extra hug or something tonight.
Thanks, Frannie! I think I'll make my water cutoff about 3:00. That way, I can still have my smoothie snack to get me to dinner. I guess I better get started since I haven't had a drop yet! Hubby is on treadmill right now so I can't get on yet. He started walking on the treadmill on Monday. I guess I've been an inspiration to him. Deborah, you made me laugh out loud! Do you have kids? Because I'm 48, 49 in May, and I still feel 20 (inside my head anyway)! I think it's because I don't have kids and I'm not seeing them grow up before my eyes that I have this notion! |
I can't remember where I saw that someone said the Cola Chicken sauce would probably make a great Sloppy Joe. Now I'm not a huge Sloppy Joe fan but for some reason, I'm craving them. Must be the TOM that NEVER came! Here's a recipe that my Niece sent me for Core Sloppy Joes. It's basically the Cola Chicken Sauce. I'm DEFINITELY going to make these. They will make my Hubby and probably your kids very happy.
Diet Coke Sloppy Joes POINTSŪ values per serving | 3 Servings | 6 Sandwiches | Ingredients 1 pound raw extra lean ground beef 1 medium onion(s) 1 1/2 Tbsp all-purpose flour 1 cup Coca-Cola Diet Coke 2/3 cup ketchup 2 Tbsp vinegar 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp dry mustard Instructions Brown beef and onion in a large skillet. Drain well. Stir in remaining ingredients as listed. Mix well. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. |
Kathy, I really enjoyed seeing your pictures. I didn't look at them all but I looked at alot! You do look great and I think you look like alot of fun....but we could tell that from your posts! Your tonsil kitty looks alot like my Scottish Fold kitty, Cameo. I also have a Scottish Terrier named Cassie. I had to look at the John Travolta pictures, of course. What a hottie! I also checked out the cruise pictures because I've never been on one. I'm scared about being stranded without being able to get to land. I think I have control issues! I love to gamble so I'm sure the cruise would be right up my alley.
Well, Hubby is off the treadmill so I guess I better get to walking. I'll check in after my weigh in tonight. Very little chance at changing my chick this week as I'd have to lose 3.4 pounds! |
I'm making the cola chicken later this week, but the only diet cola I have is diet cherry coke. I'm going to give it a try - why not?? The sloppy joe recipe sounds really yummy. I'll have to plan it for next week.
Angela |
I just put that sloppy joe recipe in my book of Core recipes (gotten from the ones you all have posted) and it looks so good! I'm going to try it soon. Also I think I'll make the cola chicken this weekend as it's going to be cold and rainy and I will be wanting to stay inside and cook!
|
Hi everyone.
Does anyone else out there get wicked PMS cravings. I couldn't get enough salt yesterday (and, of course, it did show up on the scale this morning). Today, I have, if you can believe it, been sitting at my desk biting the ends off the "old maids" in a leftover bag of popcorn. I made Ma Po Tofu last night with lots of salty bean sauce and ended up eating more of it for breakfast this morning. The perfectly lovely oatmeal with blueberries I intended to eat just wasn't going to cut it. Honestly, I think I might lose more weight if I just gave up and ate nothing but Doritos and M&Ms for a few days. Those of you who get this way--how do you get past it? Bleh. I'm going to make some tea and see if that helps get me through to lunch. |
Hi everyone,
Back at work today - but still feeling crummy :( :( - would have stayed home but I have an important meeting w/consultant this pm that I could not miss - and boy lots of messages and emails after just one day off! I've tried the cola chicken and it's great - kids loved it too. Can't wait to try the sloppy joes! Kathy - you are gorgeous - looking tall and slim to me (yes that's my problem I'm vertically challenged - if only I could stretch a few inches!). :D Thanks frannie for the kind words. I agree that dh's rationale and thinking are a bit "skewed" and I'm hoping that with some professional help maybe we can work thru this - one way or the other! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBORAH - hope your day is great and that all your wishes come true! I was on a cruise last August and may attempt to post some pics here! I love cruising (vickie let me know when you're ready and we'll take one together!)...actually you are all invited! I'm really ready to go somewhere warm cuz it's like -31 degrees here today - tons of car accidents (black ice) and stalled cars due to the cold. My car never really warmed up in the 20 min drive to work. TOM is really nasty this month - lots of headaches, bloating and feeling yucky. Hope all this bloating subsides by sat am weigh-in!!!!!! Otherwise I am tired and feeling pretty lethargic - need to get thru this meeting and try and get some work done. May take tomorrow afternoon off (have a retirement lunch party to go to which will probably go til 2pm - might as well go home???) Frouf |
Froufy, Cher, and even Vickie, I think ... so sorry you all are having a vicious TOM. Thankfully, it won't last forever, although it doesn't seem so at the time. Cher, my first day is generally my insatiable, gotta-have-something-bad day. Otherwise, I'm not too prone to cravings that I can blame on TOM. My own fat cells are my culprits ... they keep begging to be filled to the brim! Wicked things!
I went to lunch with DH ... he had an unexpected training day at my workplace today so we got the rare treat of having lunch together. It wasn't Core by any stretch ... Chinese with a nice portion of vegetable lo-mein and some fried rice and cashew chicken. And let's not forget the egg roll. I know ... I was very, very bad. :( But it sure was good. I'm drinking water as I type to at least flush out all that tasty sodium. DH and I are going to pop by Sears after work today to test-drive the ellipticals. I tried out one a while back by Nordictrac that has the ramps and I really, really liked it. But since it cost a bit more than what I wanted to spend, I thought DH should try it too to see if he likes it. My daughter likes it, which is a good thing since she much prefers her computer and television to exercise. If he likes it, we'll get it, I think. I really do feel an elliptical is a far better workout than what I can get on a treadmill or stationary bike, IMHO. The elliptical will be my birthday present and an anniversary present for me and DH ... 17 years on Monday! Boy, I'm getting old! :) Angela, let me know how those cola recipes work with the Diet Cherry Coke. That and Diet Vanilla Coke are the only diet cokes I have in my house ... for my DD since I can't stand the taste of any diet drinks other than the Diet V8 Splash and the light Minute Maid. I might try it with the sloppy joe mix and tater tots ... are tater tots core? I need to go check my list! Deborah |
oh no, i lost my journal, i had it and had completed 5 of the 7 days in it and now i don't know where i put it......i was doing so well, is this a sign that i should not have tried to write down everything anyway.......?? so absent minded today.......
TOM came and left and came back again, then left again.......man oh man, ready for this part of my life to be over sooooooonnnnnnnnnn, now really, with an 18 and 19 year old would i really want to start over again?? no thanks, those diaper days are gone oh and yes, i craved salt salt salt.......and could feel the retention in my hands kathy thanks for the Life in 2005! i immediately passed it on to a co-worker next to me...hahaha, so true! |
Hey Cass and welcome  I'm a newbie to this site as well. These women keep me rolling  They have given me alot of ideas with WW and the encouragement is GREAT :cheer
|
Boy, oh boy, did I just do something hard. We have a cool theater room in our basement that's totally tricked out - (dh's brother worked for Ultimate Electronics and got us around 75% off everything) Anyway, dh fixed a friend's computer, and as a thank you, she gave us two huge popcorn bowls full of microwave popcorn packets (movie theater butter flavor) and box after box of movie theater candy. Rargh!!! Included in the candy was a huge box of Milk Duds, my absolute favorite. After eating some yesterday and today, I realized I can't keep it in control, and I THREW IT AWAY! That was SO hard. But I did it, and I will be glad in the long run, right? Dh took his favorites and hid them away, at my request. The other kinds, which aren't so tempting to me, I am giving to the kids. But, boy was that hard. Whew! Maybe I should take the trash out now, huh? :) I was seriously thinking about eating up the whole box today so it would be gone, and then I thought of you guys and how hard you work, and, let's just say, I made the right decision.
Angela (still picking caramel out of my teeth - mmm) |
Yes, take out the trash. If you're anything like me, I'm not above changing my mind and digging thru the trash to get something!
Welcome to all!! We're so glad to have you! |
BACK AWAY FROM THE TRASH CAN! Actually you can pick it up and take it out. No more sugar to pass your little lips! I know it's so hard to pass up when it's your favorite - but you did the right thing Angela - GOOD FOR YOU!
I'd probably be licking the butter off my fingers after inhaling the movie theatre popcorn...yumyum. Speaking of which I am pretty hungry now! :o Had a meeting this pm and drank another 18 oz while there (yes I had to pee like crazy!!)...anyhow was hungry when I came out, had some cut up veggies (cauliflower and baby carrots) which only filled the void temporarily - it's 5 pm now - time to pack up, head home and chow down! :p I too am feeling "tight" around the fingers/rings - I know there is still some water retention happening! Flush it out! :dizzy: Froufie |
Cher, I get TERRIBLE salt cravings. But...I love salt every day. I indulge a little bit because I have to have some. I try not to eat too much though, because then it makes the cramps that much worse. I absolutely refuse to eat salty stuff the night before a weigh in though.
Frouf, sorry you're still feeling so crummy. Glad you like the Cola Chicken though. I'm making the Sloppy Joes tomorrow night for dinner. I just bought some 1 point hamburger buns to go with it. Woo Hoo! It's 20 degrees here and I'm freezing. I can't even imagine -31!!!! Yikes. Deborah, congratulations on your anniversary! I have a Core Chicken Fried Rice recipe for the next time you're craving Chinese. Let me know if you want it. Hubby LOVES it and eats the leftovers the next day. Frannie, I'm ready for this to be over with too! I have my annual exam on Monday. My TOM never came but I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up on Sunday night! LOL! Hope you find your journal. That can be so frustrating. I hate when I do that kind of stuff. Angela, your room sounds so cool. My Hubby would die to get his hands on that setup. Well, we retired so it may be out of our future. I am SO impressed with you for throwing our the rest of the candy. Way to go, girlfriend! I really feel like we all do help each other. You still have to do it yourself but it sure is nice to have a little support and help along the way. |
I hope everyone is doing well. Froufy, my thoughts are with you as you tackle this bad patch. Like Kathy said (I think) you're among friends. It's okay to vent. His issues are his.
To those experiencing TOM, good luck and fingers crossed that it will be swift and as gentle as possible. Sounds like it's that special time for everyone except me, I had the pleasure of having mine two weeks early!!!!! How lucky can one girl be?!?!?!? But I guess early is better than late! Aside from the weird sandwich craving during TOM, I have been known to polish of a box of Little Debbie snack cakes and Salt and vinegar chips - not so much now, but the urge is still there. Kathy, which chili recipe do you use? I made a CORE chili recipe, but was not very overjoyed. Vickie, do you mind posting your Chicken Fried Rice recipe? Also, is the Sloppy Joe recipe really CORE? I saw that a bit of flour was used, does that matter or can I make it w/o the flour? What kind of 1pt. buns are you using? Okay, I'm done with the question portion of my post. Thursday night and Friday morning weighers, have a good one!!!! Torrey |
So dh gets home, I tell him about the candy, and HE digs it out of the garbage!! But I'm over the craving now, and am looking forward to my cabbage rolls for dinner. Yes, movie theater butter popcorn is one of my favorites, but it takes more preparation than grabbing some Milk Duds, so generally, my sanity gets the better of me before I actually make and eat some.
Vickie, I'm interested in the chicken fried rice recipe. I have a shrimp fried rice one that's really good, but we love Chinese food, so I'm always on the lookout. Angela |
Alright, I have another question: Has anyone tried Kraft's Carb Control (or whatever) Ranch or Italian Salad dressings? I was in the store last night and came across those I believe the Italian was 1 pt. per 2 Tbls. (did not check the Ranch). Wondering whether they taste like pooh.
|
Wow once again, I am soooo lost in all that has been written since just yesterday....
I can't get on line as often as most of you, especially at work. I am in an Accounting Data base all day.....so 'unfortunately' no time. Wish I could :-) Froufie I hope that all is well with you or as well as can be. How sad all of that is. It truely does sadden me, and I am so sorry. Take care of YOU first, that is most important. I dont' get here much but I am here for you like the rest....we are a great bunch!!! To all those who have weighed in today....I hope it went well. Frannie I hope you found your journal :) Kathy you still are TOO funny!! and love the pictures. You look awesome!!! To everyone else hanging in there.....good going. I can't seem to keep up with all of you.....you all are way ahead of me on the posting. I'm hanging in there........talk to you all soon..... Linda |
Hey, Torrey -- two things. I have tried the Kraft Carb Well (wait let me look at the bottle) ... yes, that's it. It's the caesar dressing and it's good. Really good, in fact. Next, I just made up my own recipe for the chili, but everything I used was Core legal, so I'm assuming the whole thing is. It was very good and I spiced it up greatly.
|
I've nothing to add, except that I'm getting really tired of looking at that chick's butt.
|
Huh? What chick? What butt?
|
Good luck to all those weighing today - keeping fingers crossed for happy news! :goodscale
I am feeling a bit hungry "around the edges" today - I think I have not been eating enuf these past few days and it's starting to show - but I know I can't break down. :mcd: Dh was shovelling some potato chips down his mouth after dinner (we hide them from him as he doesn't need them and knows they are not good for him, but eldest ds likes them). Anyhow of course dh "found" them..in kitchen island cupboard...I hear bag crackling noises - then he says "oh I dropped something" and bends down where he is hidden by the cupboard door and chows down! I of course caught him red handed and confiscated the bag....and told him in no uncertain terms that his eating this was not at all supportive towards my weight loss efforts! :rollpin: (I kinda knew how yummy the would be but I DID NOT EAT A SINGLE CHIP - did I mention potato chips, esp the ripple kind are my ULTIMATE RED LIGHT FOOD!..and that if I had one - the whole bag would disappear? :cbg: ) So I "rehid" them in what I hope is a safe location. Do I eat something now? I am not supremely hungry, but feeling peckish? Maybe shredded wheat and milk? Also does anyone know where I can find a computer pic of the "comfort zone" with numbers, etc.? I really want to print one out in color and post it somewhere where I can see it often - so I can judge how hungry I really am? I think it might provide some good motivation for me! ;) Thanks, Frouf |
You have to hand it to him -- he's inventive! Who else would have thought about pretending to drop something so they could eat chips behind a cabinet door? It's mighty clever!
How about having a glass of milk, then wait a little to see if you're still hungry? |
Torrey, you're right about the flour not being Core. 1 cup is 9 points. 16 Tablespoons in a cup....so 1 1/2 tablespoons would be about 1 point. I don't have a calculator here. Wait Hubby went for calculator. Actual total is .84 for the whole recipe. So, I still call it Core. I think the rule is no more than one non-Core ingredient is still legal to call Core but you must count the points for the non-Core ingredient. I haven't made it yet so I don't know how crucial the flour is. I'll let you whether I think it needed the flour after dinner tomorrow! My Jewel Foodstore makes their own brand of light hamburger and hot dog buns. I don't know if they are a national store or not. Their store label is call President's Choice. They are pretty darn good. I can eat 2 for less than the cost of 1 regular bun. I never tried the salad dressing you mentioned, but I purchased a house brand of the other grocery store in town, Dominicks. One is calle FF Roasted Sweet Pepper with Garlic and the other is Balsamic vinagrette. I'm anxious to try both of them.
|
If someone has Sara Lee Delightful breads available, I think they also make a hamburger bun that would be good for the sloppy joe's. I'm going to get some tomorrow.
|
Here's the Chicken Fried Rice. You can add whatever veggies you like. Pea Pods and water chestnuts are our favorites.
Chicken Fried Rice 12-16 oz Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs 2 Tablespoons and 2 teaspoons canola or olive oil (for 4 servings this would be the day's portion of good oil. You could probably get by with just the 2T if you want) 4 cloves fresh garlic (I use 1 Tablespoon minced garlic in water in the jar) 3 cups cooked brown rice (I make mine with chicken broth) 2 bunch green onions, sliced 2 T low sodium soy sauce 4 large eggs, beaten with a fork 2/3 cup snow peas/pea pods, cleaned (I use a whole package of fancy snow peas from produce department. I also cut them into thirds) 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained and quartered. Cook brown rice to yield 3 cups. Replace water with chicken broth and do not use any oil. Set aside. I broil the chicken in the broiler of my oven for 6 minutes on each side until it is nearly cooked through. I do it this way because I like the flavor the chicken gets in the broiler and because whenever I brown chicken in a skillet I always make it tough. If you are a better "stir fryer" than me you can probably cook the chicken in the pan with the garlic, onions and soy sauce. If you want to cook it in the pan, cut up the chicken before you cook it. If you are going to broil it first, cut up chicken into bite sized pieces after it is cooked and set aside. Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic, green onions, soy sauce and cook for about 2 minutes. Add pea pods and water chestnuts and warm for about a minute. Add broiled chicken and brown rice to pan and warm through, stirring occasionally. While the mixture is warming, scramble eggs in a separate skillet. When firm, stir into fried rice mixture and stir until thoroughly mixed. |
BTW, I only lost .2 tonight. This is how it seems to go for me. I have a decent week then one or two small weeks. I like the big ones best. Go figure. Down 25.8. Only 2 weigh ins to go to get to 30 pounds. Not going to be easy!
|
Frouf, doesn't your DH have a lot of nerve! It's almost like he's sabotaging you. Is he thin?
|
Happy Friday morning everyone!
Just wanted to congratulate Frannie, Bride, and Vickie on losses at WI!! Way to go!! :cp: :cp: And I would be disappointed too, Vickie, if the scales didn't seem to properly reflect all my hard work but a loss ... any loss ... is what matters, particularly when you couple that with eating healthier and exercising too. You're doing everything right! The scales will eventually reflect that. And thanks for posting the chicken stir fry recipe ... I think I might be able to manage cooking that without undue hardship ... maybe! :) Speaking of hamburger buns, I think the Nature's Own wheat and fiber buns are only 1 point also and they're not too bad ... I'll try to doublecheck though next time I'm in the store since I haven't bought any in a long while. DH and I did buy the elliptical machine last night at Sears so I'm really excited ... imagine that! Me ... excited about spending too much money AND exercising!!! How much sense does that make? :dizzy: I really don't enjoy exercising ... like many of you, it's just one of those things I feel I HAVE to do ... but at least on the elliptical I feel like I'm getting the maximum workout for the time. Enough ramblings from me ... have a great Friday everyone! Deborah |
Deborah, keep us posted on how you like it once you get it. I might really be tempted myself since you guys all say it's easy on your knees.
|
:coffee: Good morning all !! Seems like I always get on here late, but have to get my DD off to school, then get my coffee made. :bravo: to those who lost at WI. Vickie, don't sweat the small stuff. That happens to me all the time. For some reason I always weigh more on Thurs. which is my normal WI day. I can be down a lb. on Wed. and Fri., but Thurs for WI it is back on. So, this week I went to WI on Wed. and I was down 1 lb. Thurs. I weighed myself to see if that pound was back and LOL I was down another .6. Go figure ! ! I guess I'm .6 ahead for next week.
I'm going to start an exercise thread for anyone who wants to post there. Just a daily log of our exercise achievements. :cb: Lisa |
well, i was telling them last night at weigh in that I had a really really hungry week, still lost 1.4, and then i told them i did something outrageous and journalled everything i ate (yep i found that journal).........they all said, quit journalling.........it is making you hungry.........could this be true??
our meeting was about having fun, and we must be, 2 new members last night........this leader is out of this world. she has done so much for this chapter.......it only started 1.5 years ago! we had a lady meet her goal last week and then she lost another 2 pounds.......I want that to be me!!!!!!!! Yep, I am going to do it!!! 27.6lbs..........working on another 25, then will determine where i want to be!! Vickie, another good recipe.....picking up that chicken tonight and probably having this over the weekend.....yumma ummma Frouf...good for you for hiding those chips, funny he would try and sneak a food that is soooooo noisy.......bound to get caught! hehehe ..... can't remember the last time I had a chip as I have now replaced them with those Bruschetta Rice Crackers or those Quaker Rice Cakes...... deborah congrats on your ellipitcal i am sure you will love it! ...... I know I do..... mumto...thanks for the exercise thread.......but what does WATP mean.........walked ??? i will get a post in there too! Cheers to everyone, TGIF, can't wait for the weekend to start |
Frannie, I had 38 people in my meeting last night. They were hanging from the rafters. I think Thursday is a popular night! You should journal if you enjoy it. I'd NOT be having fun if I was journaling! I think WATP means Weekly Activity Points.
Thanks for the encouragement! |
Finally Friday!
CONGRATS TO ALL YOU BIG LOSERS!! :cb: :cb: :cb: .... and remember ANY LOSS (even staying the same) is going in the right direction! :balloons:
Deborah - have fun with your new/expensive piece of equipement :tread: - I wish I could have something in my family room right smack in front of the tv - but too many kids, toys and interferences to make that happen. Have a treadmill in the bedroom and finally got a tv/dvd/vcr to use, but being a short froufie I can't really see all of the screen while walking - so we have been investigating a piece of furniture or shelf which will bring it up to a vertically challenged frouf's level! :D Having a crazy day here - did not make coffee this am - was going to buy some downstairs - but no time! Had a yogurt only and now it's 11 AM AND I HAVE NOT EATEN ANYTHING MORE - altho my oatmeal is ready, just need to boil up some water - I must eat this now as I am going out for a retirement party lunch in half hour and I know I should not go on am empty stomach. So my challenge is to make it thru the lunch without caving. Party is at a steakhouse - assume I can get a salad w/something on it - otherwise a small filet mignon, naked baked potato and side salad??? Will try to monitor my LEVEL OF FULLNESS - it will be fun tho cuz it's where I used to work so will see a lot of old faces - the other issue is of course having everyone see me fatter than I was probably the last time I saw them! How depressing! :( :( Vickie in answer to your question while dh is not thin - he has put on some weight- but nothing to be alarmed about. He could lose 15 lbs or so (usually size 36 jeans, but has some 34s that he wants to get into). He is a major CHOCOHOLIC :p and eats M&Ms :chockiss: almost every day (altho he says now he prefers Kit Kat chunky bars?)....he is a little piggy really. I try not to harass him too much, but I do suggest when I can that he cut down on the sweets and eat fruit or veggies. To be honest I know he is very stressed and depressed due to his recent layoff and if anyone knows about using food for comfort it's me!! He is about to get a small government contract (thru a friend of his) which will keep him busy for approx 3-4 weeks and I know this will really pump him up and make him feel better about himself! At least I hope so! And check out this article: http://www.cbc.ca/story/science/nati...get050127.html (and I'm tapping my toes while I type this! ha ha ha   ) Will let you know how I make out at lunch! Frouf  |
