Talking Another Core Member Saying Hi!!!

Hi everyone!

Just hopping on to say hello as I TOOK THE BIG STEP and joined today. I am desperate to lose weight (not that I have not tried a zillion times before) and one of my girlfriends has been raving about the new core program....so here I am.

Some questions: so it is 10 pm and I am REALLY HUNGRY!!...dare I eat more fruit (so far today: 2 bananas, 2 tangerines, small fruit salad).

Actually here's today's menu...

Breakfast:
bran cereal w/lo fat milk
1 banana

Lunch:
turkey breast
salad w/1 tsp oil/vinegar dressing
12 taco chips (3 points!)
2 tangerines/1 banana

Afternoon
1 grande non fat decaf cappuccino
small fruit salad
1 oz cheese (3 points)

dinner:
Shrimp
Stir fried veggies w/teriyaki sauce
brown basmati rice
diet pepsi

Later:
ginseng green tea

Question: teriyaki sauce was a bit runny so I added about 1 tsp of cornstarch???? Is that allowed? How many points for cornstarch?

Maybe I shall have some popcorn now??

Got the new "ready, set,go" pack w/exercise dvd which I have already "tested" - not too bad!

My first goal is that 10% - need to get that off asap and then work on the rest!

Can't wait to chat with everyone here!

Maybe you could drink a glass of milk if you're still hungry. Or ... drink some water! Sometimes that will work.

As for the cornstarch, if you put that tsp. into a whole recipe then just ate a portion of it, it would be such a negligible amount that you shouldn't have to count it.

And welcome!

Froufy, love the name and Welcome! I think you should try to eat a starch at lunch. Maybe some brown rice or couscous with your turkey. It would help you stay full longer.

Like Kathy, I would also recommend something with milk in it. It looks like you only got one milk serving and you need two. You could make a Core dessert if you're not into just drinking milk plain. Since you're new, I'll introduce you to my favorite website for Core recipes. It is www.barbosdietkitchen. You go to the recipe archive and do a search on Core. There you'll find hundreds of great Core recipes. I've tried quite a few already my self and can recommend some later if you're interested.

Water also helps and is important to helping you lose!

Come join us on the Core Support Board. Is your friend already on our board? We are a wonderful group of people. No snipping or nastiness like on the WW and other boards! Good Luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome Vickie and good advice. Have already checked out that recipe web site and it is great!!! Have bookmarked it for future reference.

I have been checking out the Core support Board - lots of catching up to do - hope a new thread gets started soon! Wow!
