Thank you Robin for the kind words!! My twin sister called me tonight and wants us to do something either Friday night or Saturday for our birthday. She said maybe out to eat, or to the movies then go have a few drinks.... So I am definately thinking of using my no weigh in pass this week. It will have been 15 years since we have celebrated a birthday together! I have been wanting us to be able to do something for years now, but well..... it is complicated. I will just say her boyfriend is a little bit on the needy dominating side for lack of better words, and we do not get to see her that much. But anyway, I am SOO excited! My sister by the way has never struggled with weight a day in her life... If we just go out to eat I can try to watch what I eat, and attempt to stay on plan, but if she wants to get some drinks, then I know I will have a weight gain. But it would be so worth it! I will just have to get right back on plan and get it right back off! Dinner with my hubby fell through, but looks like I will be having it with my sister instead. I can't WAIT!

Frannie57 10-26-2004 10:56 PM

Hey there,

Vicki and novabubble thanks for the warm welcome! And cateyes have fun with your sister......

A little bit more about me.....hummmmm.........I need to loose about 40-50 pounds. The summer was a recovery period for me after back surgery but I am back (haha). I walk about 5 miles a day. I park my car the furthest I can where ever I go. I also have an elliptical machine but the weather is not that bad yet so I enjoy the outdoors as long as I can in southern Ontario!! Sometimes I do a 30 minute walk before work and then after too. I joined a Walk Challenge and keep track of all my steps! I am on my 6th week. And I have increased my steps by 138%......that is a major accomplishment for me and I feel so much better for it! Walking is the easiet exercise to do, so natural, but remember to stretch as you go along to avoid cramps later. I have also increased the speed of my walk and it has gone from a 45 minute walk to a 30 minute walk.....same route......

My menu varies from day to day.......reduces boredom!

B oatmeal or fibre 1 cereal with milk
s some kind of fruit or applesauce
l ff cottage cheese, fruit and munchie veggies
s ww bar or more fruit or a ff yogurt
s could be anything legal depends on who is cooking. tonight it was eggs, yesterday it was veggie soup, the night before it was pork roast with veggies

I am a bread lover so I use 1 point for 2 slices of ww bread every other day. on the odd day I have potatoe.......old school, I try not to have the potatoe and bread on the same day......not sure if it makes a difference or not. I am getting used to drinking milk, but hopefully the yogurt and cottage cheese are enough. I don't always have a ww bar. But almost always have popcorn on hand!! Smart Pop by Orville is yummy......(and no extra points). I love making applesauce but in a pinch I will buy the little single serving size cups of the non-sweetened. I just made my lunch for tomorrow, salad, fresh pineapple, kiwi and yep, a ziploc of popcorn to snack on. I have my drawer at work with legal core food, tuna, applesauce, broth and sugar free gum.....

I crave at that time of the month (TOM--man oh man I am slow.....just figured that one out!!) I work with acronyms all day so you won't find me using many here! Anyway, as I got off track. I crave salt but only for a couple of days then I am ok. On those days I drink 2 extra waters with lemon. And I love chocolate! Don't we all........(the WW bars really help here!!)

WOW.....I really did not plan on being so winded. See you all tomorrow night!

Cheers,
Frannie57

Vickie 10-27-2004 08:23 AM

Torrey, lucky for you on the timing of your next TOM. Mine will be right through Thanksgiving! Look out! You sound very back in control. Good going.

Frannie, thanks for the tip on water with lemon after salt abuse. Do you think it really helps? It seems like you are eating great and your exercise is incredible! I love to make homemade chunky applesauce too. I've been eating it since I was a kid. I have been trying to get in more fruit. I eat about 1/2 cup of homemade applesauce in my oatmeal everyday. I cook the oatmeal until it is nearly done, then I throw in the applesauce and finish cooking it. Because I put splenda and cinnamon in the applesauce, I'm left with a wonderful apple, cinnamon oatmeal that is all core and healthy. Yum!

Are the WW bars really great? Is there one that is fabulous? I haven't had any chocolate since 9/9. I'm wondering if I should get those bars or just have a little real chocolate.

txlawchic 10-28-2004 10:40 AM

Good morning, y'all!!! After my eating over the weekend, weighing in a day early and on top of TOM, I lost 1 lb.!!!! This has given me pause, b/c I felt out of control this weekend AND for the second month, I have not experienced the '5lb. weight gain'. I'm still losing. I found it also interesting that after pulling out my membership book from '97 on the points plan, I have lost the exact same poundage and am at the same weight at the six weeks point. It was interesting to me. I was a little bummed b/c I wanted to be at the 10lb. loss mark this week, but I will take the loss.

I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks again for being here!

Torrey

Italy2076 10-28-2004 12:21 PM

Hey everyone. It's been awhile since participating on this thread, I've been so busy and it's not going to stop anytime soon! I've been a little under the weather :( so I haven't given it my all regarding working out. Last Saturday I weighed in and to my surprise since I was at TOM and went a bit off Core on Friday night but I still lost 1.8!!! Can I ever get a full 2????!!! Oh well. It's better than zero or no gain. :^:

Hey - has anyone watched The Biggest Looser on NBC on Tues nights? I can't believe those people worked out for 5+ HARD hours 6 days a week and some lost ZERO or 3lbs or even gained!! EEK!! How devestating would that be?!?

I have pretty much put myself into a daily routine (except on the weekends) I get up at 6am, go to the gym from 6:20-7:30, make breakfast which consists of Egg beaters and Canadian Bacon w/ Skim Milk or an egg on 1/2 a whole wheat Thomas' English Muffin w/ canadian bacon and FF cheese on top. I have my snack every day at 11am which is FF Vanilla Yogurt w/ bananas and 1/3 cup of granola. Lunch I have a salad or cottage cheese w/ tomatoes and FF French dressing. Sometimes I'll do Ham rolls w/ mustard and FF cheese. Dinner all depends if I have time..I normally make a casserole or something on Sunday's and eat it during the week or make a pita pizza and use the 3pts for the pita. I like to make chicken fingers too (W/o breading) and toss in Franks Hot Sauce :flame: and dip in FF ranch. I have a huge WW Word Doc w/ a bunch of receipes and I'm trying to make one a week. If there's non-core food on the recipe I try to modify it. My favorite is eggplant casserole!!!

Well - I'm done spewing at the mouth here..hope everyone is doing ok!!!

Going to visit my husband at Andrews Air Force Base this weekend so I'm going to skip weighing in until I come back. Last time I saw him I actually lost 2 lbs!! :D

C-YA!

Vickie 10-28-2004 02:36 PM

Torrey, GREAT news!

Italy......so you lost weight the last time you went to see your hubby.....nevery mind, I'm not going there! Have a great time and just be as Core as you can!

Vickie 10-28-2004 03:00 PM

If the recipe that I'm making requires me to saute, then I put the oil in the pan. If I don't have to saute, then I put it in the couscous, or rice when I cook it in place of margarine or butter.

Nita 10-28-2004 08:02 PM

Hi Ladies,

I would be interested in the eggplant casserole recipe.

I finally joined WW again yesterday and today is my first day of staying faithfully on the CORE program. I am going to give it my best shot. It's encouraging to read all the posts which prove the CORE program does work. I am anticipating making some potato soup tomorrow. I was just going to saute onions, celery, zuccini and then I would add this to the cooked potatoes. I even though of adding some whole kernal corn to it as well. One of the ladies at the meeting yesterday gave me a very good idea. If you use the aluminum foil that does not stick to food, you can cut a baked potato in half and season it and then bake it on this foil the cut side down. I haven't tried it yet but I do intend to do so. The leader also talked about cooking her meat and potatoes inside of a cleaned out pumpkin. I'm not sure how this is done and I may e-mail her if anyone is interested.

I will be posting on the CORE recipe board a muffin and cookie recipe made from pumpkin.

Keep up your excellent work!

Nita

Vickie 10-28-2004 10:43 PM

I got to change my chick tonight! 2.4 down for a total of 12.2 in seven weeks :D. I couldn't be happier. I'm just going to keep plugging away. Instead of being overwhelmed by the whole 150 pounds, I'm going to keep shooting to change to my next chick....so 5 pounds at a time. Tomorrow starts another week. This week I'm going to concentrate on drinking more water.

Vickie 10-28-2004 10:45 PM

Good luck, Nita. I'll be rooting for you. If you like to cook, don't forget the Barbo recipe site. She has some wonderful Core recipes there. I've tried quite a few and liked them.

Katpo 10-29-2004 08:13 AM

Congratulations, Vickie! That's GREAT!!

novabubble 10-29-2004 10:54 AM

Vicki I'm lovin your new Chick!!!!! Congratulations!!! I think one chick at a time is a great way to go.

When I am in weight loss mode I make up a little jingle about whatever is 2 pounds lower than I am now. So my jingle for now would be "178, that would feel really great." I say it in my head about 100 times a day. It might be silly but I can somehow focus on 2 pounds better than 10 or 20.

I am trying to decide whether to lose another 10 pounds right now or go into a holding pattern til the end of November. I have some major deadlines in Nov, also received some really bad news from home (my dad has Parkinson's, and my folks live on the other side of the country). So to be honest weight loss is not really a big priority at the moment. If I can maintain through all of this I will be very happy (I'm a stress eater) but I will try to stay Core and stay active because it will only do me good.

cheers everyone!

txlawchic 10-29-2004 12:00 PM

YAY, VICKIE!!!!!!! Congratulations on the new chick!!!! One week at a time!

Laraine 10-29-2004 12:31 PM

Vickie: That's great! Congratulations on your big loss, especially on your 7th week.

Robin: I'm going to try your jingle. I've been stuck at 171 for 2 weeks and would love to get into the 160's. I'm going to try concentrating on 2 lbs. instead of the 20 I have to go.

So sorry to hear about your dad. Try not to give into stress eating. I tend to do that too, so I understand. When things are going badly, I add to it by overeating. It doesn't even give me comfort at the time, but for some reason, that's a lesson I never learn! We're all here for you, so come to us to vent.

Laraine

Vickie 10-29-2004 01:52 PM

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! It means so much to me and I'm sure to all of us as well.

Robin, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. You would think with all the work being done by Michael J. Fox, there would be a cure. I'm a stress eater too, so I certainly understand your dilemma. If I were you, I'd still try to lose and then be happy if I maintain. I guess what I'm saying is be as good as you can at as many meals as you can. Then when the stress eat monster strikes you'll just have a bad meal or two instead of a landslide. I don't know if that makes sense or not!

Laraine....maybe your chant could be "at 160, I'll feel like a pixie!". Sorry, I'm not very good at this but I think it is a VERY cute idea!

novabubble 10-29-2004 02:39 PM

Vicki said "I guess what I'm saying is be as good as you can at as many meals as you can. Then when the stress eat monster strikes you'll just have a bad meal or two instead of a landslide."

This is very good advice Vicki, thanks!

Laraine 10-30-2004 08:21 AM

Vickie: Excellent advice! Wish I'd thought of that!! And thanks for the jingle -- I'll give it a try.

Liliann 10-30-2004 08:47 AM

Hello Ladies, :coffee:

I have read a few old posting and just love on hearing how great of hearing everyone is doing. Congrats to all the losing winners!! :)

About me..I am 37, single, not married, no kids, living in New Jersey. I don't work, am a helper to one of my sisters that have MS. I struggle with weight all my life, had some success but gain, the same ole story. I was first a newbie to WW back 2000,when 123 success came out..was good attending meetings..but the center closed down and now don't have any center near my neighborhood. Ever since then, been counting points and never could last a day on staying on track..the story of my life!

Now that WW came out with Core, which I have found the food list on dotties site. I started Core Oct 8th,with my start weight of 422..my first week lost 12 Lbs and was thrilled that Core way of eating fits me. Had gained and now am doing my best to re-gain back my 12 Lbs victory and continue on. I am close now to it.need 2 Lbs more and am finally on track on having losing weeks ahead. :)

Enjoy your day.Have a good on Core plan day!! :)

Liliann

Frannie57 10-30-2004 10:07 AM

Happy Hallowéen!! :) :)

Randy Travis was awesome!! WOW...what a voice he has, such range.

Lucky for me I saved some of my weekly points allowance for those 3 Coors Light! We ate at the hotel, great chicken plate so I was legal for that. Then on Friday off to an aunt's house. Pretty legal there as well. Now it is the beginning of a new week. It is rainy out but will go for a walk anyway. Gotta get those steps in to counteract those beers! I missed my weigh in for Randy Travis so I hope that it all evens out next week.

I have been reading a lot on CORE vs FLEX on the boards. I have tried both. But I found on FLEX I would get half way through the week and quit writing things down. Where on CORE I only have to check off boxes and I actually write down what I spent my weekly points allowance on. CORE helps me curb my bread binges! That is the big thing for me.......anyone else love fresh homemade bread........ :dizzy: I know that I might delve into a hallowéen treat but I found that Smarties (Like m&m's) have only 40 calories for the little snack size! Perfect.......if I want some chocolate I will go for that......1 point!!

Time to grocery shop the outer aisle's of the store! Fish and brocolli for supper tonight........yummy.

Until the next time.

vincar 10-30-2004 10:42 AM

Good morning everyone! I had my weigh-in Thursday and didn't do as bad as I thought - lost a pound! That puts my total to 14 pounds lost since starting Core. I did have all 35 of my WPAs, which I've never used up before, and I can't tell if I'd have lost more if I didn't use them all up. Oh well, I guess my attitude should be that they are there if and when I need them, but to try to eat from the core food list as much as I can, but maybe plan on a treat or two a week.

Nita, it's so good to see another person from Phx on the boards! I live in the East Valley. Isn't the weather just beautiful now? The rain was a nice change on Thursday, although I was worried that the raindrops that got on my clothes going from the car to my WW meeting would affect my weigh-in! :D

Since Thanksgiving is less than 4 weeks away, I've been thinking of what my strategy will be. Since my dh and I are both on core, I'll be making a couple of things that are OP that we can eat. I have a cranberry-apple salad that can easilly be adapted to core. I'm also making crustless pumpkin pie and trying a sweet potato dish made with Splenda. I'll use as few WPAs as possible during the rest of the week.

What are your cooking/eating strategies for Thanksgiving?

Vickie 10-30-2004 11:09 AM

Lilian, I have family in Jersey. They used to be in Kearny but are now at the shore, except for my cousin who is in South Amboy. I, too, have struggled with weight issues all my life. I'm determined that this time I will succeed and it will be with Core!

Frannie, glad you had a great time. Sounds like you have a nice, sane plane for Halloween. I really don't have one beyond to say that I am NOT having any candy. I just don't want to get started on sugar again. It would be a slippery slope for me.

Carol, I think you're doing great. I think we need to eat some or all of our WPA's to keep losing. Many people, including WW, say that you need to eat WPA's and definitely AP's to keep your metabolism revved. My Niece and I are doing Core and my Sister is cooking. Turkey and veggies are always available. My Sister's oldest Son has allergies so we've made potatoes without butter or dairy for many years. We are making homemade applesauce with splenda and the same for cranberry sauce. She always has salad. We are going to make some kind of sweet, sweet potato dish and a crustless pumpkin pie. That just leaves the stuffing and the rolls. I just might spend WPA's on those. I haven't seen a good sounding replacement for bread stuffing yet! Couscous stuffing would not do it for me!

Katpo 10-30-2004 11:54 AM

My Thanksgiving plan is just about the same as everyone elses. I'm doing the cooking, so I can control most of what we have (notice I said MOST)!! LOL! Making mashed potatoes with chicken broth is something I haven't tried but I think I will start. And like Vickie said, turkey and vegetables will be available and I'll try to fill up on that. I also plan to have a big vegetable/relish tray ready for the hours while the cooking is going on so I'll have something to nibble on and won't be tempted to try just a little of this and taste just a little of that. And the crustless pumpkin pie will be a must!

I'm actually looking forward to it this year because for the first time in a long time, I won't have to feel guilty about what I eat. I will eat turkey and vegetables and potatoes and salad until satisfied, and then later can have my pumpkin pie. I've already been told that if it doesn't have a crust, nobody else is touching it so I guess I'll be eating it for several days.

Returnee 10-30-2004 12:04 PM

Hi All: Isn't Core great. Since starting I'm losing every week. Not worried about Thanksgiving at all. We always are big on vegetables that day and Turkey no problem. If I use any points it'll be for some dessert. Looking forward to the next week.

Nita 10-30-2004 12:33 PM

Hi Everyone,

Carol -- It's great to know someone in Phoenix is also on CORE--I am truly excited about the program because I have been a WW for many, many years--1972 to be exact and I believe becoming a Lifetime Member has really kept me from gaining more weight than I have. We don't have family here so the holidays are not aways happy ones. After reading all these wonderful posts, I have decided turkey is the key to success this year.

I also like the idea of variety on this program and especially the fact that you can have a baked potato any time you want one.

Keep up the good work and have a "super" OP weekend!
Nita

Frannie57 10-30-2004 05:49 PM

Hello again,

Lots of talk about Turkey day! I already had one this year. (Because I live in Canada theír's is in October) But we always celebrate 2!! Love it!!

For my first Thanksgiving I wrote down what I was going to eat. Added up the points and on CORE I only used 8 points that day!!!! WOW. And I even had 2 TBSP of dressing. A little taste satisified me. I did loose on the Thursday, in fact, I think all of us were down. It must have been our leaders lesson of marking down what we were going to have. And deciding if certain things were really worth it.

Where can I find this crustless pumpkin pie recipe? That sounds good. We did not have pie......instead it was my hubby's birthday so we had cake and his mother made him an awesome pineapple dessert that I totally refuse to eat. It is a good dessert but I don't like the way it calls for raw eggs. blah :^:

So for the turkey day this month I am not sure what I will do. I may do a ham with the fixings.

Everyone on here is so nice and encouraging I just love that. Helps the week go even better!! What a great support system.

I love your new Chick picture too! Keep up the good work.

We had sole, butternut squash, brocolli and then applesauce tonight. It was really good. My better half is following along on the plan sort of. He gets in more exercise then me...today he played 2 games of hockey.

Better get mooooo :moo: ving

Vickie 10-30-2004 08:40 PM

Frannie, here is a link for two crustless pumpkin pies. They are both from the Barbo Recipe Site. Are you all sick of me talking about all the great recipes there? I'm not sure which one I'm going to make yet!

http://www.barbosdietkitchen.com/archive.pl?read=11848

Liliann 10-31-2004 08:46 AM

Vickie: You will succeed!! From seeing your chick icon, way to go on your 10 Lbs loss!! Keep up the good work!! :)

This weekend is going so- so..am eating 50% good- 50% non core..I am doing my best and won't give up! I will make it and win this battle!! I am ready to change my lifestyle once and for all.

Happy Halloween everyone!! Be careful with candies and no binges..those are addictive and stay strong for those who have trick or treaters. I don't have anymore in my neighborhood..so no candies in this household..Thank God!! :)

Stay strong everyone!!

Liliann

Frannie57 10-31-2004 08:32 PM

:) :)

Thanks Vicki for the recipe link. I will do that in a minute! I love new recipes!!

Keep plugging along Lillian......you can do it!

Have had about 40 little goblins tonight........ready for 60 so we will see what happens!

Have a great beginning of the new week everybody!

Vickie 11-01-2004 09:43 AM

Good Monday Morning All! Board is VERY quiet today. Hope it's just that you're all tired from Halloween and not much into chatting. If it's because you ate a little too much candy....not to worry. Start over today on Core and forget about yesterday! I didn't have any candy yesterday but it was a HUGE effort not to and I'm feeling a bit deprived. It'll haunt me (pun intended!) for a couple of days just like it always does when I don't eat something I really want. I'm determined not to give in. I'm on my way to the treadmill but just wanted to stop in before I went.

My weigh in is Thursday and so far no loss on the scale. I know, I know...stay off the scale but I can't help myself!

cateyes 11-02-2004 06:33 AM

How is everyone?

I have had a very busy weekend, so have not had time to post anything. I have somehow managed to stay out of the halloween candy, and have done very well eating the right things, but because so much has been going on, I have not been eating enough! There has been about 4 days where I only ate one meal!! I know that is BAD! I missed my weigh in last week, but the home scale is showing a 4 pound weight loss since my last WI. I am hoping to keep it off until Thursday.

Good Luck Everyone!

novabubble 11-02-2004 06:52 AM

hi Frannie,
I'm Canadian too and like you, I found Thanksgiving to be quite easy on Core. There are so many things you CAN eat that you think a lot less about what you cannot. I'm not much for pie at the best of times so that was easy to pass up.

I have not been doing well with keeping to my core foods so my goal is today to eat 100% core. I know if I have one successful day it will be easier to have another.

novabubble 11-02-2004 06:54 AM

PS I never put anything in mashed potatoes except fat free milk, salt and pepper. They come out fine and people can add butter or gravy at the table if they want. I do not use chicken broth because we always have vegetarians at the table so I try to make potatoes and stuffing in a way that they can eat it.

Laraine 11-02-2004 11:34 AM

I've been having a bad 3 days. Not eating much in volume but definitely not Core! I'm up about 4 lbs. So, I'm trying again today to start fresh. I seem to have lost my momentum, and just when people were starting to notice I'd lost weight!

I'm trying to decide about Thanksgiving menu. Do you think I should fix my regular really yummy dishes (green bean casserole and yam casserole) for everyone else and green beans and a sweet potato for me or make everyone go Core? How are you all handling this?

Italy2076 11-02-2004 02:34 PM

Hello ladies - well the trip to see my husband was great. We did a lot of walking, went to Mt. Vernon and a couple malls. Of course I overate a little but don't feel too much of a change. :nono: I skipped weigh in this week but will be going on Saturday so I have 4 days to push myself. I got my Slim in Six videos in the mail when I was gone so I'll be popping them in the DVD twice a day for the next few days, not to mention I'm going to Orlando next Friday with 6 of my girlfriends..... :cb:

Here's the receipe for the eggplant casserole if anyone wanted it:

Cheesy Eggplant Bake

1 eggplant
5-6 large mushrooms
1/2 onion
1 green bell pepper
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of tomato sauce(I used Hunt's)
1 tub of fat free ricotta cheese
2 cups of fat free shredded mozzerella
2 tbsp of garlic(I like lots of garlic)
1 tsp of oregano
1 tsp of basil
1 tsp of thyme
1 tsp of parsley
1 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes

Peel eggplant and cut into twelve slices. Put on a cookie sheet and spray with pam(olive oil flavored). Broil for 2 minutes. Flip over and sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese. Broil for two more minutes.

In a saute pan, saute bell pepper, shrooms, onion and garlic. Next add tomatoes and tomato sauce and spices. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

In a casserole dish layer six slices of eggplant. Then top with ricotta, then sauce mixture, then remaining eggplant. Top with cheese. Cover dish with foil and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
YUMMY and CHEESY!

Enjoy and have a great week ladies!

cateyes 11-03-2004 09:29 AM

Thanks for the Eggplant Recipe!! It sounds awesome! I will definately have to try making it one night this week. For breakfast this morning I made a shake. I was really wanting some halloween candy, so I tried to think of something sweet but CORE I could have instead. So I made a SF FF pudding shake using 2 cups of skim milk, 1 pkg SF FF vanilla pudding mix, and I added a banana and some fresh pineapple. It is pretty good. My youngest two children like it as well..... I came so close to eating candy yesterday! I had it in my hand fingering it......contemplating. " HOw bad could this one little piece hurt, anyway?" But I finally managed to put it down by asking myself "What do you want to weigh? 130 or 230? Do I want to get there in one year or two years? (My goal is try to average 2 pounds a week. I figure if there are 52 weeks in a year, and I can lose 2 each week then that would be 104 pounds in a year) It helps me get through the tough times... for now anyways, hopefully this strategy will help for awhile.
Before I used to always think what is one more day....and then eat whatever it was that was calling to me. Right now focusing on just 2 pounds a week helps. I REALLY want to reach my goal weight by this time next year! I do not want to live one more minute being fat!! I think turning 30 last week hit me kinda hard. I feel like I have been wasting some of the best years of my life because I have been fat since I was 20. I was always too ashamed to really enjoy myself, or do much. I won't go to a beach, a water park, or even the lake with my kids, because I will not get into a bathing suit in public. I always thought I would be a cool mom, riding bikes with the kids, going skating with the kids, etc. But I am always too worried about what people are thinking or what I must look like to even try to do anything that might draw more attention to myself. This will be my last year that I hang my head in shame. By the time I turn 31 I plan on being close to my goal weight, and I plan on going out with my husband, holding my head high, and having a WONDERFUL time!! And when we go on vacation next year, (we are planning on going to Florida to Disney Land...or is it World??) I will hit the beach in my bathing suit and play in the water with my children!!!!!! :smug:

If I can just stay focused on 2 pounds each week.... :goodluck:

I am hoping at my weigh in on Thursday my weight will still be off I have lost and I can change my signature. I am not changing it until I get my official weigh in at WW.

Phewwww Halloweén is OVER!!!!! Yea!!!!! I too wanted chocolate chocolate chocolate. And I gave in a couple of times. Couldn't help it. Not sure what the scale will say tomorrow night. Drinking lots of water today. Already went on 1 walk and will probably go out again tonight around 8.

I think if you are having a hard time deciding what to serve at Turkey Day you should write down what you would like to serve and add up the points. Sometimes once on paper and you actually see the points......you will go.....oh, green beans on their own would be better! Just a little hint our leader gave us. But of course, if you have the 35 points to use then I think on this special occasion you could spoil yourself. It is a tough decision but we have to be proactive about it and not reactive.

Larraine......glad you had a good visit with hubby. And have fun in Orlando! Walkk walk walk!!! :)

I am going away for the weekend again! I can't wait. I weigh in and then straight to London I go. I will paint all weekend. Not a lot of time to think about food. Except I am subject to their menu. Hopefully, the hotel will serve a variety of salads, soups etc to choose from. I am taking my ff yogurt and fruit for breakfast. This much I can keep cold in a cooler. Then at night we will be eating out.....but I should be ok. Order chicken right!!! Yummy!!!! Cateyes, I will remember your line.......do I want to weigh 230 or 130......that is a good one to make you stop and think. And that is all you need, that minute to think of the end results!!!!!!!!

Everyone have a good rest of the week!

Cheers,

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick note to let you know I enjoy reading your posts. Lorraine, I, too, have been having a problem sticking to my CORE program. I worked at the polls yesterday and it really was a very long day and impossible to drink my water. I am planning on weighing in at WW on Monday--even if I have gained weight. I seem to go through these periods of time where I am really struggling to stick to my program. Hopefully this time will pass soon. I try to stay very busy--but even then I still have a problem.

I really appreciate being a part of this "wonderful" group.

Take care,
Nita

I am not going to fix a lot of fattening dishes for Thanksgiving. I figure my family doesn't need it any more than I do. We can eat good and still eat healthy. If no one objects, I am going to start a Thanksgiving menu thread so everyone can share ideas, recipes and maybe we can come up with a menu that is, if not totally Core, weight watcher friendly enough for us to stay on program for the week.

I haven't posted in a while but I have lost 1lb. last week. That was encouragement to keep going.

Look forward to everyone's ideas on the Thanksgiving menu.

Hi All! Glad everyone seems to be drifting back. I missed everyone. I get such inspiration from you all.

I've been struggling this week but not because of Halloween. I have no candy in the house. I've just been a little blue...didn't feel like planning or cooking which is essential for me and for this program. We went out to eat alot and I stayed on program. I have, however, eaten just about all of my WPA's and I'm dreading my weigh in tonight. No change in chick for me this week! I'll be deliriously happy to stay the same or lose a bit.

Janette, I LOVE your idea about the thanksgiving recipe thread. I will defintely participate and would really appreciate some ideas from others.

Good afternoon everyone. I have been swamped at work and so on, so have not been able to post or reply this week. I did an early weigh-in today and I was down .4. Trying not to be bummed again, b/c I was no angel this weekend. I went walking twice this week and I know that I have to be better than that. I do need to get that boost in and make that a consistent part of my life. This is the first time that I have been conscious about my food and not worked out. That needs to change.

Anyway, tried to do the SBD/Core concept this week, but I have to maintain the truth that I can not do low-carb. I must have fiber from whole grains, etc., b/c I have been feeling poopy since Sunday. Also, the loss over the 4 days was not significant enough to maintain the low carb thing; therefore, I am doing CORE at 100%.

My projection of 10 lbs. a month has been derailed, I am 1.4 away from that goal and it was supposed to be hit last week. I will implement workouts and see what happens then. Not officially panicking yet.

Good luck to everyone on their weigh-ins! Have a good week.
