Hi everyone. I would also like to add an intro here. My name is Jenn. I have been married to my current husband for almost one year (we got married on Halloween). I have two children from my first marriage, a ten yr. old boy and a seven yr. old girl and a one yr old boy from my current marriage. my husband is wonderful but he is also very skinny and can eat all he wants. he has a high-stress job that requires a lot of travel and working hours. as for me, I have left a job in a law firm to be a stay at home mom. I had been a contract negotiator for ten years and it has been tough for me to just come to a halt as far as work is concerned. I have been going to school and working on my favorite hobby which is writing...but I have found that even with how busy I am with that..and raising my kids...and all the other things we do as women (and men, of course!) I have lost a lot of control over what, how and when I eat. so, in trying to get some of that control back I have started ww. I have tried a sample of flex and core. I think that the core is working pretty well for me right now. following all of the conversations and recipe postings, tips, etc. on this board have been a great help. you all seem like such wonderful people and it is nice to get to know you all!!

Welcome Sandi and Jenn.
Sandi, I too, am a very slow loser having yo-yoed all my life! You and I have a lot in common. I'm 48 but have been perimenopausal since 40. I think this tends to affect weight loss a bit....no excuses. I also am not giving up this time...no matter what. I also come from the clean plate club and am struggling to listen to my body instead of my brain. My brain always tells me it wants more even when my body IS satisfied. One of the things I've tried on Core is to deliberately put much less food on my plate than I think will fill me up. I tell myself I can have more if I need it. That way when I clean my plate it's a much smaller portion. I've also been telling myself to eat just a bit. The beauty of Core is that if you are hungry later you CAN have more food. It's a process I believe. I'll be here for a long time so maybe we can help each other through this. Jenn, I also have something in common with you in that I was forced to take an early retirement. So at 48 after working in downtown Chicago for 30 years I was forced to just stop working. It was a shock and for the first five months I just wallowed. Now, I'm trying to see it for the opportunity that it is. I never had the time to focus on me and making me healthy. I was always too tired to exercise and cook. Hence, the 150 pounds I have to lose. Don't let me fool you....I like to eat carbs and lots of them. I like comfort food and I a stress and emotional eater. I'm slowly trying to change those things now that I don't have the stress of work. I am a control person and I've always been embarrassed that I could control everything but my weight. Now I see that I chose not to control it. Now I chose to conquer it! Having said all this, tonight is my fourth WW and Core weigh in. I've been really hungry all week but I stayed on program. I exercised all 7 days. I'm expecting a stay the same or a small gain. I'm trying to convince myself that it doesn't matter. If I do gain it will be a disappointment. I've never been so faithful before and I want results! I have to keep telling myself that this is a marathon for me and not a sprint. Good Luck to us all, Ladies! |
My turn, I guess!
I, like Sandi, live in a town right outside Fort Worth, Texas. I am 5'6" and have been slim all of my life -- until I hit 40, had to take a lot of meds for various ailments, and started packing it on! Last Labor Day (2003) I found myself at 175 and said OKAY! THAT'S IT!! I had previously done WW@Home, so I had all the materials and calculator. I started journaling and eating healthy (actually I was eating all Core foods and didn't even know it) plus started really downing the water. I lost 15 in about 2 months and have kept it off. Then in Feb. of this year, we started WW@work so I joined in. Still watched it, and maintained, but didn't lose. When Core came out, I knew that was for me. I have lost 10 pounds since I started it on Sept. 6 of this year. I feel good and the loss is noticeable. I'm going for another 10 and if I don't look too sickly, I'll go down a few more. I'm married, have three kids (26, 21 and 18), four dogs and a cat. I work as a courseware developer for a training company in Arlington, and also wait tables at our local bar and grill three nights a week -- gotta pay that college tuition somehow!!! I've gotten so many good ideas here; don't post much but believe me, I'm here every day reading what everybody has to say! |
Welcome, Bindy! How on earth can you diet and work in a bar and grill? I'd go crazy with the smell of all that wonderful food.
Congratulations on your success, so far. |
LOL! I actually don't eat anything while working, and don't even get something to go when I leave. I keep telling my boss I should be paying her $35 a month for my "health club membership"! I get SUCH a work-out between running between the kitchen and dining area, and then sweeping/mopping after we close, that I count those three days as my week's exercise.

Well, I guess it's my turn to introduce myself. My name is Torrey and I am 30. I live in the D/FW area and have just started my second career. I did WW 123 about 5 or 6 years ago, when it was introduced and it worked out pretty well. I have lost and gained the same 30 - 45 lbs. over and over since college and now I want to officially get it off. The summer prior to law school, I lost 46 lbs. by taking xenadrine, barely eating (if I did it was mainly protein, no carbs) and working out intensely for up to 2 hours a day, almost everyday. Yeah, the weight dropped quickly, but I was not happy, extremely tired and sick. Well, I've gone up and down during school due to poor eating habits, crazy schedules and intense stress. Now that that is all over I want to start over and do it right and I'm confident that this time is the right time. The CORE program is amazing, although I have only been doing it for a week and a half, I am very pleased.
It is wonderful to have the support that you all give on this board and I appreciate you guys being here, it makes this endeavor that much easier. Thank you! |
Week 4 of CORE went well - I lost 5.4# - that puts me 6.6 from goal. :)
|
Hey, Torrey! I'm glad you're taking the healthy approach this time. Me too...no Optifast with Oprah this time!
Way to go, Debra. That is an awesome loss. Any secrets you'd like to share? |
Debra, congrats on the loss! That is great! You must be so thrilled to see your goal weight approaching! Are you going to start maintaining once you hit goal or lose a little more first??
|
Hi everyone - I've guilty of being a lurker, but now I just wanna be a parta the group!! My name is Terry. I'm 36 and I have 2 boys, 1 (Jory) is 11 & the other (Ronin) is 4. I'm not married but may as well be. I live with my boyfriend in Vancouver, Wa. I have 137 lbs to lose (Gulp!!) That's the first time I have actually figured out how much I need to lose and I'm tellin' ya, I don't like it one bit. On the plus side I have lost almost 7 lbs in the first 2 weeks of Core. What I notice most is that I no longer have cravings for sugar. I like what you said Vickie about it being a Marathon and not a sprint. I hadn't thought about it like that. I have to say that my boyfriend has been so supportive since I started this new plan. He doesn't question what I cook or the portions that I cook. This is a big thing for him because he really likes to eats big portions. I have been trying to cook only what I think we should be eating at that time. That way I don't have to worry about snacking later on. I am so looking forward to talking with all of you so we can all reach our goals.
|
Terry, we'll all do it together. I'll be here a long time looking for support and trying to give it too! I've lost 6.4 for the first 3 weeks of Core and I weigh in tonight. As I said earlier I'm fearing a gain but who really knows?!
I'll tell you what I tell my Niece....get it off before you hit 40. It's great that you have a supportive partner. My hubby is wonderful and I couldn't do it without him. Hope you post often. |
I have to tell you that posting on this board and reading all your stories just makes me really, really happy. It doesn't matter if we're losing 10 pounds or 100 or more, we all have the same battles to fight. We aren't alone in this!
I'm not feeling very well, my tummy is really upset. Today I actually did points instead of Core because I couldn't face fiber at all. I've been eating bananas and toast and tea and milk mostly, although I ate some bland chicken stew for supper. Anyone have advice about what to put on a tender tummy and stay core? NB I cannot eat the fat free pudding-- it doesn't agree with me at all. Debra I'm also in line to hear about what you did this week that made for such a great weigh-in! Cheers to all |
Hi Novabubble...sorry about the upset stomach. How about a baked potato? For lunch today, I had a potato topped with steamed broccoli, ff cheese and pico de gallo. I'm still full! But maybe a potato without the pico might be okay.
|
Hi everyone.... still reading and monitoring everything. Have not been successful these last few days in doing anything much.... but seem to have gravitated to a few core foods - habit? Actually, they are so much healtheir.
Nova, I do remember that WW fat and fiber plan and didn't go on it at the time, but stayed on whatever other option there was at the time. The core plan, actually, is somewhat similar in a way. Linda |
Hi Robin. Sorry you're not well. What about some of the hot cooked cereal? If oatmeal is too "fibery" why not try cream of wheat for Farina. Yum...I always loved Farina when I was sick. Of course, I used to eat it with margarine and sugar.......
By the way, I got the gain I was so afraid of tonight. Up .4, after trying so hard. Well, I'm NOT giving up on WW or on Core. Better luck next week. That drops me back to 6 pounds in four weeks. Not great, but not awful. Come on, Debra....spill the beans....help us out here! |
Oooops! I meant cream of wheat OR Farina.
|
HI everyone!! It's me L.J. Well I found the board! whewwww. Glad to see some new and the regulars here, guess I was one of the last in finding it, but glad I'm did.
I would like to say to LINDA in NH - I wish you the best of luck with what you choose to do. I read and re-read YOUR 'May the Force be with you' and it as helped me to stay focused on CORE!! Me, the non believer of CORE!! And I think it was Vickie's statment that hit home too.....or her husbands.....it a Marathon not a Sprint. Core really is doable. It does allow us to make better choice and if we want the bread or other pts foods we can have them, and we don't need to feel deprived. I am finishing up my 3rd week of CORE and am doing well (past two weeks lost 5.5) so far and W/I is Sunday. I will let you all know. I started or should I say RESTARTED my journey 16 weeks ago, and thus far have lost 18 lbs. I am a lifetime having lost 55 lbs but about a year ago I something wasn't clicking inside me and I lost the 'umpf' after journally for two years - and was tiring of counting pts. Honestly I don't know what happened I fell off the WW wagon, very slowly however not realizing until my clothes were tight, and I could see a change in me in the mirror, and I surely did not like was I saw. Took a while before I couldn't stand myself anymore. I did something I never thought I would........gain some of my hard earn weight loss back. Something I thought I would never do. I was one of 'those' who swore "that will never happen to me" well I am here to tell you it did. NOW, I am focused and determined and doing well. It is what we have to do and need to do to stay where we ALL worked so hard to get and/or are still working to get there and stay there. It took me a while to jump over to Core, a lot of kicking along the way, I swore it wasn't going to work. I did learn however that I have to do it in portions and NOT depend on my comfort zone quite yet. I enjoy my CORE soup at lunch which I fix up myself and are very filling. I use FF chicken broth, some barley, some cous cous, peas and carrots, mushrooms other mixed veg and add a couple of TBS of Campbells Grean Pea (CORE) to thicken it and it is do dee-lish. It is totally satisfing. Sometimes I have a mix of Brocoli and Califlower instead of the P & C. I have not had bread in the nearly 3 weeks on Core, this coming from someone who had a sandwich at lunch everyday (1pt bread, but nevertheless, bread) I know we can have it on core but I don't really miss it for whatever reason. I am sure eventually I will have it though, like a light 1pt English mufifn with my REAL eggs on Sunday morning. I am learning though, and being the SNACK person I am, that was the hardest thing for me. I have tried some Core snacks like FFSF pudding and such but................. I also was not a fruit person, but since my inception to Core I have three fruits a day, so unlike me, but it works for me now, and Red Grapes are becoming my best friend for my midday snack. Janette (fiftieslady) got me into my fruit. Again, thanks Janette, and I hope all is well with you and your family. I hope everyone else is doing well too. So many post to read, but I want to tell everyone here that this new board is great and we are such a supportive group, one of the best I have been affiliated with. I don't even go to anyother any more, just this one. Everyone is so responsive here, so thank you everyone. Hope to see you all here later. I will try and read through them all later..........till then have a great day out there, and THANKS Janette for starting this #2 Later...........L.J (Linda) |
Linda, glad you found us! Sounds like you are doing great. Definitely your head is in the right place. I, too, am really enjoying the folks on this board. I don't even look at the WW boards anymore. I tried to get WW to start a Core Support board but they didn't seem to have any interest.
I have made a couple of Core desserts that are pretty darn good. One was Peach Custard and the other was Chocolate Mousse. In case you want the recipe http://www.barbosdietkitchen.com/archive.pl?read=11272 for peach custard and http://www.barbosdietkitchen.com/archive.pl?read=11014 for chocolate mouse. Both were real easy and made me feel like I was getting a real dessert. Of course, my all time favorite is still the Carmel Apple Delight. |
Vickie, Hi!!
one quick question....I printed the recipes above but regarding the evaporated skim milk...is that the canned FF evaporated?? Please let me know L.J (Linda) |
PS
one says 1Cup evaporated skim and one says 1 can,,,duhhhh....am I stupid or what (hahaha) |
Vickie, I used to love Cream of Wheat with margarine or butter on top of it as well. I also used to sprinkle sugar over top and pour milk on it. One could find substitues such as ww butter spray, sugar substitute, etc. to acheive the same kind of taste???
I think I am officially OFF core now, to be honest. Had a light English muffin with one tablespoon of peanut better on it this morning for breakfast. I have not had peanut butter since starting on core several weeks ago. I really found it a luxury! So, with that, I guess I need to recognize that the core foods just don't work for me in terms of making my body self generate a weight loss????? I think it's best for me to not post here any longer as I might "upset" the theme of this thread in terms of "supporting" the core plan. Hope that makes sense. I thought it was a good thing for me to try, but I think flexpoints is better for me. Everyone's bodies are different and some people with perhaps more weight to lose than I have might find it really great? Linda in NH |
Hi guys. I had my 3rd WI last night and am down 12 pounds!. I was going to a Monday noon meeting and switched to a Thurs. evening, so this WI was a little over a week so I guess its really been a week and 1/2 but I am thrilled with the results that I am getting on Core. I even went out to dinner twice in the last week and 1/2. Its nice to have food left on my plate at dinner because I can't eat it all but also nice to know that I can always have something to eat without counting points, calories etc. Hope you guys are all doing well. Its going to be near 80 here today in Vermont and I am going to take advantage of what probably will be our last really nice weather and get outside for a long walk at lunch.
Talk to you soon Kathy |
Linda, you're not stupid! Some of these recipes are really poorly worded. First of all, it is defintely the canned nonfat milk. We get Carnation brand here.
The Peach Custard calls for a 5 ounce can. I could not find a 5 ounce can of nonfat evaporated skim milk. All I can find is the 12 ounce can. The Peach Custard only makes two servings so I usually double the recipe and just measure 10 ounces in a measuring cup. I either waste the last two ounces or add it to a soup, etc. The Chocolate Mousse calls for 1 cup. So I just buy the 12 ounce can and measure out 8 ounces in a liquid measuring cup. I don't know if nonfat milk can be frozen. When I made the mousse, I ended up throwing away the other 4 ounces, which I hated. Hope that's clearer, but if it's not, let me know! |
DerryDaughter Linda, we sure will miss you but I certainly understand your decision. You have to do what is right for you. I have to say that you sound really positive about your decision. I think it is quite a testimonial to this board that you feel regret at leaving us. You know you can always pop in to see us, right?
I'm going to do what I can to keep us going. I'm going to try to stick with Core for at least another two months to see what happens. My weight loss is on the slow side but I've never been more satisfied and less deprived. Good Luck! |
Kathy, your loss is incredible! Can you please share your methods with us? Are you still weighing and measuring? Journalling? Drinking 10 glasses of water? Exercising for and hour a day? Please, please share your plan of attack....and by all means keep it up!
|
VICKIE...thanks for the clarification. I WILL be doing the mousse recipe, this weekend, after w/i of course!! I also got some other recipes off of that site, so thanks again.
KATHY - indeed your weight loss is FAB!!! keep up the good work. Core does take some getting used to and changes here and there but bottom line is, it works too!! I am happy we have the option to switch each week if need be. LINDA(NH) your decision to do Flex is what is right for you, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't come here. You have been a positive influence on me and let's face it, you do have some GREAT recipes!! I wish you well this week in your choice but we do have that option of TURNAROUND!! So good luck to you, but please stay 'on board' I have read your other posts on other boards and you are a very supportive team player, always there to lift someones' spirit and boost their moral....we are here for you too. It took me a long while to get into the Core thing but I am finding it's not so bad and we do have those 35 WPA's so, so far so good. Again, good luck this week and hope to see you back here again.... Linda (L.J) |
SANDI - I believe it is your Chicken Caccitore recipe I printed out this morning from the Core recipe board......I am trying this weekend...THANKS
To know ALL those ingredients are CORE is awesome....hhmmmhmmmm can't wait!! And the recipe Vickie mention for Core Mousse....heaven, I'm in heaven....and NO Point Counting!!! Although I have to admit I DO journal every single day!! It's funny Sandi you gained all your weight when you moved to TX I gained mine when I moved to Florida. So yes indeed our stories are SO similar.....BUT we are here now working our program and being successful. I love your mini goal goal......you are so sensible and are making it achievable in a good amount of time. I think I have just learned something from you....thanks....with me I want it yesterday......especially these few extra pounds. But you might just have knocked some sense into me. SEE how GREAT this board is!!!!!!!!!!! I have come very far in 16 weeks and I am proud of me...now just a few more.....I am under my WW goal, but I have this personal thing to achieve :-) :-) and I will, with this great group of fellow WW's. Check back with you all later..........L.J *Linda* |
Sandi, thanks for the support. I know .4 is only a couple of ounces but it WAS in the wrong direction!
Anyway, I just ate my breakfast and I'm heading for the treadmill but.....I just had to tell you all about my very very yummy breakfast. Yesterday, I went to Trader Joe's. I bought a bunch of stuff which I'll review and tell you all about if it is any good. Mostly though, I bought frozen fruit and vegetables because some things go to waste for me if I buy them fresh. My hubby is very supportive but he doesn't like everything...like asparagus. I bought some frozen spears. One of the things I like about Trader Joe's is that nearly all of the frozen fruits and veggies have NOTHING added. I can take out what I want to use and vacuum seal the rest. Anyway, I digress! I bought some dark cherries. I put 12 of them in my oatmeal this morning and then cooked it up. My oatmeal took longer to cook but it turned red and the cherries got hot. I had the nerve to still add some Splenda because I like things really sweet but my goodness it was so great. Funny....here I am raving about oatmeal and fresh frozen fruit....if only my old friends could hear me now! I actually feel like I did something wrong. Woo Hoo....and I have a fruit serving in already! |
Sandi - Its been 3 1/2 weeks but 1 1/2 since the last WI.
Vickie - I have been exercising at Curves 4 times a week for the last year plus the normal walking the dog stuff that I do everyday. I don't measure my portions but a typical day would be oatmeal for breakfast, fruit for snack, yogurt and fruit for lunch or a salad, veggies for a snack and dinner would be some type of meat, couscous (1/2 the serving on the back of the container), and more veggies. Sometimes popcorn or more fruit in the evening but I have been trying not to eat much after dinner as we ususally eat around 7pm and I go to bed at 9pm. This just seems to be the plan for me but I keep my options open to go back and forth if I stall on core. Kathy |
Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is well today. I just wanted to quickly share my w/i results from last night, I am down 2.8 lbs. for the week, w/a total of 4.2 lbs. down since I started on the 23rd. Whew!!!! I am now trying to fight the urge to splurge, I have a habit of doing that after the scale budges a bit. Thank god for WPAs, I did have 6 left over for the week and was freaking out, b/c I had not used them, but I stayed calm and ate what I had planned.
I have committed myself to re-starting my workouts, which I have abandoned in the last month and a half. Does anyone use their activity points or do you just disregard the fact that you are getting them? For the most part, the people in my meetings who workout don't use their points and I was just a bit curious. I also like to weight train and I read on another board that that may hinder my progress on WW. Basically, it was not recommended to do both. This was focused primarily on the flex program, but what about CORE? |
Also, does anyone know if Lipton's Cream of Chicken Cup of Soup CORE?
|
I believe cream soups of any kind are not Core.
|
Weight training may slow down your loss but the effect, unless you are a competition bodybuilder, is likely to be minimal. People who say that base their observation on two "facts." In the short run, weight training causes little tears in muscles that tend to cause your weight to bobble up because the tears cause fluid retention. The effect is quite minimal. The other reason people say that your weight loss will slow is because muscle weighs more than fat.
HOWEVER-- It takes a long time to lay down muscle. Yes, on the days you weight train you will probably retain a little water. I think the question is, though, how do we make ourselves healthy IN THE LONG RUN. There is a lot of research out there to show that weight training is very good for the body (unless you have particular medical problems of course). A leaner body works better, and will actually use more energy (read: calories) in the long run. A leaner body is stronger and works better. You will have more energy. Weight training promotes healthy bones. I think in the long run, some weight training is a sensible approach in a plan that is focused on total wellness. We all have to decide, is the most important thing going to be what the scale says? If so, then weight training may cause some "bad" readings from time to time and make us discouraged. If the point is to get healthier, eat better, be more active-- then weight training is one of the tools we can use to get there. HOpe that helps-- you can probably tell I'm a bit passionate about this subject. I've studied physiology and I've worked with seniors quite a lot so that's where I'm coming from. Cheers |
Thank you Sheila & Robin!
Robin - Being healthy, lean and active is very important to me. I read that information yesterday and got a bit put off b/c I want to go back into the gym while on WW. The scale is not the most important, inches lost are highly important as well. Feeling good in my clothes and the changes associated with a regime of cardio and weight training is key. So I will not only track my progress on the scale, but the tape measure also! |
I don't blame you for getting put off txl... I guess it just goes to show, some advice is well-meaning but it may not be the best! I do a ton of reading in this area so like I say, I'm passionate. Too bad the reading doesn't instantly translate into excellent behaviour ;)!
Robin |
Thanks, Kathy, for the information. I'm exercising 7 days a week for 30 minutes but I think I'm not getting very much life exercise. Guess I better get up and away from this computer more often! You are also eating less starch than me. I'm eating my potato/rice every day at dinner and also eating some type of allowed starch at lunch i.e. barley/couscous, etc. These are things that I could cut back on, I suppose, if I wanted to get a bit more of a loss.
Torrey, way to go!!!!! My Leader said that you MUST use your activity points. She said that the program is already set to reduce your intake to make you lose weight and that if you earn them you must use them or your body will think you are starving it to death. I challenged her and asked her how this pertained to Core. Since we don't count points I wasn't sure how it would work. She said we should use our activity points for non-Core foods. She also said that activity points could ONLY be used on the day you earn them. I'm not sure I really buy into her answer. So....my approach has been to use my activity points first in a day when I am having something non-Core BEFORE I dip into my stash of 35. I usually just use my 35 for a little bit of Smart Balance margarine on my veggies. I figure the 35 points will just be my insurance marker in case I eat too big of a Core serving. I hope this is clear! She also said that when you exercise you build muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Therefore, you might notice a gain or smaller loses when you first start to exercise. I'm hoping this is what is happening with me. I hadn't been moving around much at all between my retirement in April and the end of September when I started WW. I've decided to just bite the bullet and keep exercising. Sooner or later, it'll come off. I'm really sorry that I don't know anything about weight training. I'm sure someone else will be able to help you. |
Sorry, Robin. I didn't read your response before I wrote mine. You sure sound like you know what you are talking about! I guess I feel good that I'm finally getting moving. I also appreciate the comment about losing inches if not pounds. That makes me feel better too. I couldn't understand why I feel so much better and my clothese are fitting so much better than my 6 pound loss would indicate.
You girls are so smart! |
Robin, is there a difference between weight training and weight bearing exercise? What exactly is weight training? I'm a real exercise novice.
|
Vickie, I think you're right to question your leader. You can choose to use those points or not. I rarely use them. Also, the whole muscle weighs more than fat is ridiculous. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. However, muscle is more dense so what you have is a volume issue. A person who weighs 150 with a high muscle to fat ratio will look slimmer than a person who weighs 140 and has little muscle.
When you start weight training, your muscles can retain more fluid so sometimes the weight gain is fluid retention. Women seldom gain enough muscle for it to show up as a gain on the scale, IMHO. Weight bearing exercise could be exercises like walking, jogging, etc. where you are bearing your full weight as well as weight lifting. Weight training would involve lifting weights. If you go to a gym, they usually have a weight room where you'll see people using machines or lifting free weights. That's weight training. Weight training really helps tone your body and is beneficial to your bones so it's recommended to do weight training as well as cardio when you're losing weight. The 'rubber bands' that people often use at the end of an aerobics class also helps build muscle. Check out the Ladies Who Lift threads for some really good information on weight training. |
Sheila, you are right about the muscle/fat weight thing. When people say that, they MEAN what you said about a leaner body at the same weight but just aren't saying it correctly. I think they are also saying that they replaced fat with muscle and although the scale doesn't show it--they actually lost fat that week.
Sunny, I am going to take your lead in journaling and watching portion control this week. I stayed the same (at least on my scale--gotta get a digital so I can show those 1/2 lb. losses!) this week. But I will take that over a 2lb. gain any day. Tks for your concern over my family problems. Things are looking up--my daughter will have to have minor surgery to burn off the bad tissue (in hopes of building healthy tissue to replace it) but the good new is it was stage 2 and not cancer yet. Anyway, she spent the day with me here Wednesday waiting for the results and we had a nice visit--she even helped me do some heavy duty cleaning. She settled the problem with my grandson. My son and his wife are "trying to work things out" but I am still so angry with him that he is avoiding his mommy right now. He says I always take her side but I just tell him that's because he is wrong and she is right  Anyway, I am glad this week is behind me and looking forward to a nice weekend. Linda in NH, do drop in and let us know how you are doing. We are still behind you and want to help if we can. Sandi, welcome to our group. Robin, I guess you are feeling lots better by now but for future reference, we alway eat homemade potato soup when our tummy is on the blink. Seems to help. Txlawchic, congrats on that loss. Good job. Well, I have a car show today (if it doesn't rain us out) and a cookout and hay ride afterwards. I only have a few points left for the week--guess the hot dog will take that up in a hurry. But my week starts over tomorrow and so will I. Spryng, how are things going with you? |
