Sandra, no I'm taking anything other than some Ibuphrofen at night.

I've noticed that if I bend my knees with my hands on the knee cap, I can feel them creaking. I'll talk this all over with the doctor. I do not want to get arthritic. It's funny the information tells you to strengthen your quads but don't stress your knees. I don't know of any way to do that!

Maryann, I'm glad to hear that your neck feels better. Traction is very helpful at times.

Paula, welcome back to our little corner of the world. I know that temptation to eat sweets at night. I really want them too, but have good at not eating them. When I have to have ice cream I buy GOOD ice cream in small, individual size containers, and stop at one. I still want another one though!!

Rhonda, the physical therapist that I worked with when I taught a Rehabilitative Therapy class told me that any exercise where the feet were "planted" while pressing or squatting was safe for the knees. He said the problem was when you lift weight with your feet and use your knees as the fulcrum. This is very hard on the knees. Hope that makes sense.

Hey to the rest of you chickies!

Just a quick note to say that Robin is off the ventilator..Yesterday was
borderline for having to redo it but he has improved today so I think that
threat is past. he had a milkshake & hamburger today after the Speech Therapist cleared him. That was weird because that is my field and I knew
his swallow was fine but we had to wait all day for her to come say it was.
His weakness is extreme but a tiny bit better each day. He cannot roll in bed or even shift his weight yet.

Last night I was sleeping soundly in the SICU waiting room on a comfortable couch and the hospital security guy woke me up in the middle of the night and told me I needed to be in the regular ICU waiting room (the noisy one with uncomfortable recliners). Then he stood over me while I gathered my bags..I was in an awful mood and asked "do you REALLY need to escort me out" & he said he had his orders..I did get sassy and say that he better have his Taser ready because I could be a real handful ..Good Grief!!

This is Mr JoJO writing

Val is down with flu and cannot get out of bed without falling over. She wanted you to know that she hadn't fallen out with you, or left the forum. She was poorly coming home but you know Val, never gives in. At the moment she is a very good patient but I'm dreading when she gets a bit better because she is normally a DREADFUL patient. Wanting to get up too early.

Good Morning Chicks! I'm behind on posting but have been reading all posts quickly. I've got errands and doctors and all kinds of stuff all week, this week so time is short.

Nancy, GREAT news for you and Robin! You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Rhonda, my Sister is arthritic and her arthritis doctor told her creaking is not necessarily bad news; pain of course IS bad news. Hope you feel better soon.

Paula, I'm the same way. I feel like a hypocrite to be here when I'm not on plan but ironically, that's the time I need to be here most. I'm following WW points plus religiously right now. So far, so good.

JoJo....aren't you TOO sweet to get your husband on here so we wouldn't worry that you left us. I'm sorry you have the flu. I head it is vicious this year. Get well soon.

I love the rest of you tons and tons. I'll be back when I can.

Happy Wednesday everyone. I did well yesterday - but I just remembered I didn't log in everything. That will be my next stop. I made a bean dip yesterday and had that with a toasted light flat out bread. It was very yummy and filling. So far so good.

Nancy, glad Robin is improving. Sorry to hear you were booted off the comfy couch (not sure if any waiting room couch could be considered comfy!). Hope today continues to be improvements.

Jojo, hope you are feeling better soon!

Sandra - love the new workout

Vickie, are you still following JC or back to WW?

Good Morning Ladies

Looks like its gong to rain so I won't be walking today. Going to clean out the upstairs closet and bedroom drawers today as my DD told me that she's going to bring me home and stay with me for the whole Easter vacation week .The grand kids are off from school for 10 day and that was her plan. Of course I said yes. Now that's shes on the beta blockers she back to her bubbly self again.

Otherwise nothing else is new. I have to look for new venetian blinds for my room but I don't know how to measure or to install them. It looks like the department stores don't do that service anymore.

PAULA=Glad to see you posting again, and congrats for your gun ho attitude on weight loss.

SANDRA-Thanks,This was he first time I made Jambalaya I added Okra to mine and boy was it tasty. I have left overs for next week.

RHONDA-That traction machine was not bad except that the hand got worse when on it. The therapist took me off and than yesterday afternoon the tingling stopped but it back again this morning.Hope it subsides soon.

NANCY-TG that Robin is off the ventilator and eating that will pull up this strength, but I surprise how mean that security guard was to you. Having such a sick hubby and he treating your that way. Maybe the nurses know where you can sleep that's more comfortable.

MR JOJO-Hope that Val is ok, the flu can take a lot out of you. Please tell her that I'm praying for her to get well again. She has to drink lots fluid so she doesn't get dehydrated.

VICKIE-Have a great day

Have to go and start my dinner. Have a nice one

Mr. Jojo
Thank you for letting us know. We all send her hugs (with face masks on and washing our hands, of course).

Nancy, let's hear it for being sassy. We'll meet your bail, I'm sure!

Sloan and Vickie, thanks for the information about knees. I was doing an exercise with Todd that did require using the knees as a fulcrum but the new trainer said so I don't do it anymore.

I am leaving for my trip this afternoon. I'll likely be back from time to time because I'm taking my laptop.

Rhonda

hello.

Nancy, good to hear Robin is doing well and starting to eat. Shame on that security guard.

Mr jojo, take good care of our girl and hope she feels better real soon. Thanks for letting us know.

Maryann, I've never made jambalaya, but I love it. Is your daughter coming to your home, or you going to hers? I'm pretty good at hanging blinds, too bad I'm not closer to you.

Rhonda, have a great trip. Hope your knees gets better and you don't have to deal with arthritis. I sometimes get a pain in my right knee behind the kneecap.

Hi Vicki and Paula. You both sound like you are on track.

Mr. JoJo, thank you for updating us on Mrs. JoJo. I hope she's feeling better and also that you don't catch what she has.

Robin, you rebel you. I don't blame you one bit for being upset with the security man. I would have been, too. In fact, I am upset with him.

Paula, I enjoyed that workout yesterday, too. Now that's one exercise routine I will definitely not repeat for a long long time.

Rhonda. Have fun!

I'm back on track today. Life is good!!

Happy St. Patty's Day. We went to lunch at a local restaurant and had corned beef, etc.

I thought I had gained 2 lbs, but the scale was my friend and I'm back to my last WI. If I would quit being so doggone lazy and exercise, I could get this scale moving again.

Maryann, sounds like a busy day planned for you. Have fun.

Sandra, glad you are back on track. Those Pizza Hut workouts are a killer, lol.

Paula, I'm really watching, but still not actually tracking.
