Thanks for the encouraging words & advice .

The Dr told us today that we can wait to be readmitted to the hospital until Tuesday. That will give us this weekend with all 4 kids here..We also are celebrating Robin's birthday (Jan 26th) and our son in laws (Feb2) on Sat night. As a bonus my brother will be up from Ga ...
Pray that Robin feels good enough to enjoy the family.
  • Hi Ladies

Got up late this morning due to hurting my knee when turning to my tummy. Was able to go to my PT session and they told me I inflamed my Burton sack and wasn't allowed to use the gym. My Therapist John put me on two machines and massaged the knee area for at least 15 mins. I'm alright now, the pain has subsided. This Thursday I will be able to use the gym if the knee is OK.

Supposed to get a rain/snow mixture this morning but we got rain instead. Most of the snow is now gone.

This afternoon I cleaned out the bedrooms draws and got rid of lots of junk.I can't believe how much I accumulated since I more downstairs.Just call me the horter,I take after my mom she used to do the same thing.

NANCY-Glad to hear you family will be with your shortly, and that the doctor changed his appointment.

PAM-After the stew I will also make some chili,as it delish!! especially on a cold winters night. Sodium play havoc with me on W-I day.

SLOAN-I think that's happening to every one going up & down like a yo-yo on the scale. It has a lot to do with the bad weather we are having. In fact more people lean & cook comfort foods.

Going to start my supper see you guy tomorrow
  • Hi everyone. Its been a busy time here - not sure what I've been doing but I haven't had time to stop! DD is fighting a cold and skipped karate tonight. She didn't want to go shopping for her valentine stuff for school. They do a gift bag that needed one sweet, one salty snack and a small toy. I did ok on the food, but a generic small toy? I wandered around Target looking for something a girl or a boy would like. I then checked in with DD on what valentine cards she'd want - she told me to pick before I left, but I could just see her hating what I picked out. Sheesh, she's only 7! Everything passed, whew.

Welcome Rachel! I did core also when it was introduced back in 2004. I lost 45pds and actually became a lifetime member. I got back to it a few weeks back - the new program is just about the same as the old program. Its working for me! As long as you are OK with portion control, it does work. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Rhonda, I'm impressed with you upper arm strength. I can do the treadmill or elliptical for 60-70 minutes without any problems. But I still struggle with my upper arm work. I've never had any upper arm strength. I'm working at it though!

Nancy, I'm glad Robin is doing better. When is the transplant? Is that what is happening next week? It will be good to get it over soon. Some other meal ideas - chili, whole wheat pasta with veggies and sauce, chicken and veggies with rice. I find any of these types of meals freeze well and you could take them with you and microwave them. I've also found if I make a large salad it will keep for a week in the fridge if I put a paper towel on top and then plastic wrap. The towel traps all the moisture that would make the salad brown. Just keep swapping the towel when it gets wet. Hope these ideas help!

Maryann, I hope your knee is feeling better. Don't overdue!

JoJo, we're having similar weather -- its cold and windy here. The good news is that starting this weekend we should be getting into 35+ degree temps. I hope it warms a bit for you.

Well, I gained this week. I updated my weight on WW but I'm not changing my ticker just yet. I fell hard off the wagon this weekend - Idon't think I tracked anything since Friday. I'm back to it today!

    Have a good night.
  • I just enjoyed some chips and dip greatly. I'm not going to feel the least bit guilty

Nancy, no one expects you to write individual notes. No one! You just let us know how you and Robin are doing and we'll do the rest.

Paula, I've always had some upper body strength but last year I couldn't do real pushups and now I can do about 15. It's tough but I can do them. Body weight exercises like pushups are good to do. Don't worry about weights.

Maryann, so sorry to hear that you had trouble with your knee! It take a long time to recover but you seem to be doing well, really.
  • I'm too tired to feel guilty about the Mexican enchilada dinner I had tonight. I may feel guilty tomorrow and will do some dusting.

I just finished reading all the posts here. I apologize for not responding. I'm exhausted. Obviously, no ebike tonight.
  • Nancy Yeeeee Haaaaaaa Me and me carrot are doing the happy dance for you and Robin. How lovely to have the whole family around you. Enjoy. I used to love Christmas and Easter when my family was home, no work, no school.

Sloanie & Ems Oh dear, oh dear! Chin up now. We have to have bad weeks to enjoy the good don't we? I'm willing the two of you on.

After several days of ignoring it, I have to roll up sleeves and 'shovel out' the lobby between the back door and the kitchen. To put it politely, it looks grubby. The paintwork needs a good wash. What with the wet weather, the wind, our walking boots and a labrador the size of a small donkey, it looks more like an outhouse.

    Have a good one all
  • everyone

This is a post about vacuum cleaners and paint!

Nancy, the March 2011 Consumer Reports has a report on vacuum cleaners. Overall, they rate the Kenmore Intuition 31100 as the "best buy" for bagged uprights. They rate Bissell CleanView Helix 21K3 and Dirt Devil Featherlite M085845 as the best buys for bagless. They rate Dyson #30. I don't get that, I love my Dyson!

This issue also rates interior house paint, of interest to you painters out there.

I hope everyone has a good day. We have more snow
  • good morning chickies.

Today is painting day. Hubby is sanding the drywall seams, then I get to prime and paint. I wonder what paint was rated #1? I always try to buy the best. Hate having to paint multiple coats. Give me the good stuff and get it over with.

Sandra, I had mexican the other night. Didn't do any damage on the scale. WW is not about deprivation. That's why they have the points system.

jojo, my whole house is nothing but dust. When we do a project, I put off dusting or vacuuming until we are done. What's the use? Just think how nice it will look when you are done, lol.

Maryann, the least little twist will set you back with your knee. I still have pain occasionally. We had a heavy downpour a couple days ago. I was out and it hurt just to walk, for some strange reason. Guess it was the pressure in the air. Take care.

Nancy, that is wonderful news that your family will be together. Hope you make memorable memories to remember for years to come. I love when we all get together.

ems and sloan, chin up. Easier said then done, I know.

Have to go, the boss is calling me, lol. Hi to the other chicks.
  • Good Morning Ladies

Up early this morning and raring and ready to go. Don't know where I got my energy from. I have a appointment with H & R Block to have my taxes done. He is going to help me with the 3 IRA's that I have after being 70 1/2. and how much I have to take out.

Saw Dr Agatston yesterday on Dr Oz.He told us that if we follow the 3 basic ways of the plan[good fats, good carbs, lean protein] with portion control you should lose.

PAULA-Thanks,today the pain in the knee is gone.I'm very careful when walking or climbing stairs but it happened when I was sleeping.

RHONDA-Thanks,I guess I'm expecting to walk along the beach like I used to but I must take one step at a time first walk to my mailbox and back and than start walking around the block before walking too far along the beaches, like I did the other day.

PAM-You're correct I must be more be careful when turning & twisting, but how care I when I'm sleeping I had my brace on during the night and it still happened. Oh I definitely believe that the low pressure in the temp reading caused a lot of pain in the joints and elsewhere on the body. You take care also.

    Have a great day.
  • On the vaccuum post -- LOVE, Love, love my Dyson. It gets up all the dirt like no other vaccuum I've ever had. And I have to clean up behind my dh, dd and a 95 pd lab. Love the bagless too, I'll never buy a different brand.
  • Me too Paula! I've never seen any vacuum take up so much dog hair. This is one time I disagree with Consumer Reports.

Pam, the best paints were Behr and Benjamin Moore for the most part. That fits my experience.
  • For paint -- Dh is a contractor. He won't use anything but Benjamin Moore.
  • Hi there. We slept in this morning and I am still in jammies. Rhonda, you prob got more snow than we did. We just got a skiff--but the ice is enough to close the local schools. I am back counting points. Did I mention I spent a great deal of time while subbing yesterday going through THE COMPLETE FOOD COMPANION looking for the little triangle for foods now Simply Filling. After I was finished, I decided I would stay P+. Getting diet bread is good, but I'm not willing to give up some other goodies for the new plan--right now, that is.

I'll leave vacuum cleaners and paint revues to the rest of you. That's not my department; however, I am enjoying getting your tips.

I'm back on target today and am feeling good. Ya'll have a good evening. I'll be back later.
