Happy Thursday Chickies!!

I am taking tomorrow off, so this is like my friday. A nice long 3 day weekend. No plans, just relaxing. I will be heading out to World Market as I have been trying to find the SF syrup, such as davinci, and someone told me that World Market has the same type of thing but it is Torani and they like it better than Davinci. I have been wanting to make core granola for awhile but don't have the SF syrup. So I am bound and determined to find it tomorrow.

Barb, I have lost all my weight on core. I started March 17, so it has taken me 4 months to get this far, but this is the best and easiest way of eating I have ever done and I know I can do this for life, unlike the flex plan. That one is just too hard to try to do forever. I don't HAVE to journal or count points.
I have to admit, since I have e-tools, I generally do fill out the planner and seem to do better if I do. I quit filling it out for a few weeks and didn't seem to lose as much those two weeks. So I will continue to fill out my planner on e-tools.

Hi everyone. Things here are a bit tough - I think I've gotten into a bit of a rut and am struggling this week to stick to plan. I have been noting all foods in the etools - I've used almost 20wpas so far! OK, I know I have the 35 but I think I'm getting into bad habits as the wpas are being used on cheezits, cheese twists, ice cream ect.. nothing close to healthy. I'm still trying. The scale is the same as it was earlier this week ( up from last week) . I'm not getting discouraged yet - just mad with myself for eating junk, especially after 9pm! So, tonight, I'm cutting off food at 8:30. Lets see if that works.

Barb, that pool story is gross! I don't care how much cholirine is in the pool, they should have gotten everyone out.

Tracie (love the dancing broccoli!). WTG on getting to your 1/2 way point!!!!!!! Keep up the fabulous work! Enjoy your day off tomorrow, do something just for you -- pedicure???

Vickie, did you make any decisions on the backsplash? What else are you getting done? Seems you've gotten a few things redone lately. I'm jealous.

Sandra, hows it going??

Well, got to get back to work.

Hi Ladies

Bad news ,sorry I did post yesterday but the lung cancer is back in my DH,not one lung both but both lungs are attached. Going back to the chemo doctor tomorrow and see what treatment he will be using this time around.

Got on the scale my leader said "I haven't weighed you in ages",and then went OPPPPS!! "I must of jinxed you as you went up .8 of a lb."

To me thats a maintain and I not going to worry about that. I told her that I like the CORE and I won't stray from it.

Heres to next week.

If you don't see me posting you know what happened,I probably go back and forth with m y DH to the treatments

BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR 1.8 AND 34 LB TOTAL

Dear BB:

I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's health. My husband died of cancer 22 years ago. I KNOW the fear and anxiety. We will think of you, pray for you..you name it. We are virtually holding your hand

Tracie, I am so very proud of you. Your success on CORE is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Well, Paula, I can totally relate to what's going on with you. I don't think it hurts to spend your WPA's on noncore foods, but that's probably slowing your loosing down.

BB, I will keep you and your dh in my prayers.

Curtis and I are leaving in the AM for the state championship and won't be home till late Sunday. I'm not taking the computer with me so let me wish each of you a great, op! weekend.

TGIF everyone! Its a hot, hot day here. Tomorrow will be worse. Poor dh is working outside these past 2 weeks. (he is a carpenter and is helping to put a second floor on a house - doing the framing). He's been miserable, as you can imagine. I'm having dd friends over to play in the water slide tomorrow, then my great neices bday party on Sunday. What are your plans?

BB, HUGS to you. So sorry to hear about your DHs health. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sandra, good luck in the state championships! I just bet you'll come back with another trophy.

I was able to not eat anything after 8:30 last night. I had made a chocolate smoothie with a frozen banana in it -- ended up more like an ice cream. I finished that just a bit after my deadline. BUT I did not go into the kitchen the rest of the night. The scale this morning is down. So, I'm happy.

Well, need to get some things done. BBL

BB-I am so sorry to hear about Leo. I will continue to pray for you both. Let us know if there is anything specific you need us to pray for.

Tracie- Way to go! Did you find the sugar free syrup at the World Market?

Vickie-how's the rash? I hope it is a lot better already. Things like that can drive you crazy!

Barb- the poop in the pool story is disgusting! I would have gotten my kids out, too. How weird is it that the place where you are camping is contaminated as well? You've been jinxed by the "poop monster".

Paula-congrats on staying out of the kitchen. I have that problem, too, and sometimes I just give in. Hang in there.

Sandra-Good luck to you and your arrows. I know you are a champion!

Rhonda-don't waste your time on the twinkies; they are yukky! Hope all is going well with your guests.

I was at my conference yesterday, and went to lunch at a mexican restaurant. I did not eat one single chip! I ordered a taco salad without the cheese or sour cream. It had chicken, beans, lettuce, guacamole, and tomatoes, and I did not eat the shell (which happens to be my favorite part). I know it was not exactly core, but it was the best I could do. The scale is up this morning, but I did not get to drink all of my water, and I ate some 94%ff pop corn for a snack on the way home. I'm sure it will be back down by wi on Tuesday. I have a busy day again today. I am going to help my mom paint her bathroom-yipee! I'll check in with y'all later

BB I am sorry to hear about your husband, my thoughts are with you.

Tracie congrats on the loss, I hear the Toriani syrups are really good, I am also on a hunt for them.

Sandra good luck at the State Championship.

Barb that story was gross, they should have told everyone to get out of the pool, I am like you my kids would have definitely gotten out, YUCK

Sloan the popcorn is the culprit, everytime I eat it my scale is up. You made a great choice for lunch.

Paula way to go on not snacking late, i also have a hard time around that time so I am trying to snack on fruit.

Vickie I hope your rash is better.

Rhonda I also like those 100 cal snacks, what I really have been enjoying is the 1 pt weight watchers giant fudge bar, they are awesome.

I am happy that my scale is finally showing a loss after I was totally off track over the 4th of July holiday, I was all core this week and I am 3 lbs down but I am only 1lb less from my weight before the 4th which I am happy about because I got my motivation back.

Hi chickies, well I didn't get to World Market but I did make it the Super Walmart, and they had some Davinci syrup, although not a big selection in flavors. So I bought what they had, which was caramel, vanilla and raspberry. I still think I will get to World Market and see what flavors of Torani they have. I'd really like some almond and coconut.
Someone said to make two batches of the granola, one using the almond syrup and one using the coconut, and then mix them. When I used to make regular granola, the recipe had coconut and almonds in it so I think this would really make some good granola. So I'm still on the lookout for some more. I got the small bottles of the davinci. I was glad they had the smaller bottles so I could get a variety.

Also went to the farmers market and picked up some turnips. I have never had them before so I am going to try them in the next few days.
We also got some Candy Onions. They are awesome. They are sweeter than a vidalia onion. So good. We cook them in aluminum foil on the grill with olive oil until they are nice and tender. Yummy. I can't wait.

Hi Ladies

We just got home from the doctors[chemo & radiation]and it was confirmed Leo's both lungs have cancer in them, but it didn't move in any other origins. The good news it treatable. They couldn't believe that the re- occurrences took that long to come back,[2-1/2yrs] usually lung cancer occurrence come within a year or so.

The treatment is going to be the same chemo meds that he had before but of a stronger dosage, and the treatments will last 4-5 hrs every 3 weeks, and run as long as 8 weeks.

We're postponing our Hawaiian trip, and hope to get there the following year.

Going to be exempt from jury duty as I have to drive Leo back & forth to the treatment center, around the rotaries again.

Thanks Ladies for all your prayers & kind thoughts. I will come back to the board shortly. Have to drive Leo out tot eh cancer center for his treatments.

Hugs BB

Hello chicks! My sister and I got two bathrooms painted at my mom's house. We worked most of the day, and everything went well. I took my lunch so I stayed on core. After we finished, we went to my sister's house for dinner. Her DH grilled fish and tenderloin. We also had sliced tomatoes, cabbage, and yellow squash. It was really good and all core ! I'm home now, and I had a ww fudge bar for dessert. All in all, it was a hard core day!

Niki-great job getting back to core. It's funny how when we get back to business, the weight comes off. Also, I think you're right about the popcorn. I love to eat it for a snack, but I always retain fluid when I have it.

Tracie-Is the granola recipe on the core board? I would like to try it. I think I have a recipe, maybe from Sandra, and I wonder if it is the one you are using.

BB-At least the docs think the cancer is worth treating. Maybe Leo will actually feel better if they can get the tumors to shrink. I hope he does well with the chemo and radiation. I'll be praying. You know God is so good! My good friend just let us all know that her leukemia is in remission! So many prayers have gone up for her, and I am convinced God has been with her through all of her struggles. He is with you and Leo, too. Even when it seems so tough; He is there, and we are here, too.

Rhonda-stay tough tomorrow. I'll be thinkin' about ya. You know even if you're not perfect, good choices are better than just throwing caution to the wind. Hang in there!

Nighty night, chickies. I'll be back tomorrow.

Sloanie, It is the granola recipe on this site. For the sf syrup, I will use the almond and coconut(making two batches). I found both them last night at World Market. So I will be making granola today.

Had a non core day yesterday, as I went to lunch and had a slim gem and french fries . I didn't eat all the fries but it's still not core. Then I had a few drinks last night. Everything else was core for the day, but my lunch was definitely not. Oh well, life happens once in awhile.

Tracie, I'm having a non core week! I keep eating core meals, but my snacking is still over the top. Yesterday I did really well, then 3:00 someone at work had cake and icecream. YUM, yes, I had some. Figured the points today. I have been good at logging all my non core foods. I still have about 10 points left to use through Monday. Oh well, I keep trying.

I did have a good breakfast -- sliced up some premade polenta and pan fried it with some pam, then topped that with two over easy eggs - cooked with a bit of pam. Very good.

Not much going on today. Way to hot. I'll go grocery shopping in a little while, then I'll set up dd's waterslide. Then sit and melt. Today its over 90, with 70+ humidity. I think the heat index is over 100. We are supposed to get storms tonight and tomorrow, next week we should be back in the 80s and dryer.

BB, hope dh is doing ok. When does his treatments begin? Are you going into Boston for them or stayin on cape?

Have a good morning.
