Okay, I'm really struggling at night. What's going on? I feel like I have lost all control after supper. What do you chicks do?

Well, it depends upon the night!

Just try to shut it down. Take a walk. Drink some more water. Have some popcorn. Eat a piece of fruit.

Keep your eye on the goal, not the moment.

I have a 60 calorie cup of sugar free cocoa with a Tablespoon of Benefiber
stirred in. Anytime I am extra hungry I stir that into my drink ,or soup
and it curbs my appetite. Or I have a piece of fruit and something with calcium to help( sugarfree pudding, yogart,FF cheese) Sometimes I have hot tea with the fiber stirred in. I cannot tell it is in a drink at all.

Perhaps you could try adjusting your sleep schedule so that you wake up earlier and go to sleep earlier. Then you won't have as much time between dinner and sleep to get hungry. I have more willpower in the morning, so the extra time before breakfast isn't a problem for me.

A pot of tea helps me -- takes a long time to drink it. Other core things I save for at night -- smoothies, 94% ff popcorn, veggies and dip. I try for volume that takes a while to get through.

You might not be eating enough, or eating the right things during the day. Perhaps you could post your menu so that we might get an idea of how you are balancing your meals.

If it is just a mild empty tummy I tough it out and think of all the fat I will burn during the night. But if I am really hungry I have something core.

When I first started out during the nights all I could think about was eating. It was extremely rough at first. My lifesaver has been air popped popcorn. Once I eat my popcorn it's water for the rest of the night. I'm so used to it now though that it's no longer a problem. Hope you find something that works for you!

You know, that's a really good point. If you are hungry, eat something sensible and core! I guess you have to get to the point where you know the difference between your snack-hunger and your meal-hunger. I have heard that learning core (learning your hunger signals and satiety) is a learning process. So don't feel to bad about it. Try to make sure you are satisfying the 8 Good health guidelines before snacking on something such as popcorn. Just an idea!

Other ideas:

For satisfaction at every meal, eat some whole grain and some lean protein. For lunch and dinner, make sure that half your plate is non-starchy vegetables. For snacks, have a piece of fruit or some veggies before having some other type of snack such as popcorn.

I also find the sf/ff hot cocoa to be very nice in the evening, when I don't want to eat more.
