Question Nutritional yeast?

Hello, does anyone know if nutritional yeast flakes would be included in Core? I can't find a listing for them. Thanks!

I'm sorry. I like to consider myself a Core expert, but I've never even heard of these. I'd look up regular yeast and judge by that.

A lot of vegens use it. It basically replaces cheese. I have used it in a tofu Alfredo sauce, and I have a recipe for a cheese spread that calls for it. You can even sprinkle it on pizza for a cheese-like taste. I looked up yeast, and it isn't Core, but it's also 0 points. I'm pretty sure they aren't the same, but I'm really not that sure. Any help any one can give would be great! Thanks again!

I had this same question. I use nutritional yeast all the time on my popcorn (and pasta), but I count it because it's so easy for me to overdo it. Here's the nutritional info for the Red Star brand, which is pretty standard -

Nutritional Information:
Serving size 1 tablespoons
Calories 60
Total fat 1g (0g saturated)
Sodium 5mg
Total carbohydrate 7g (4g dietary fiber)
Protein 8g

It fits all the criteria for being Core, but since there's no consensus yet and I use more than one serving at a time I just count it. It's not too bad points-wise

Thanks JoyfulVegGirl...the brand I bought didn't have any nutritional info on it. I will count it until I hear otherwise. Thanks again!
