Default is acorn squash core? what is winter squash?

Hi, I've become fascinated with Core, it seems like suddenly it just makes more sense for me. I'm not the best at tracking pts. but felt like there were too many things I liked that I would have to count for Core. DH and I went low carb this week for a change and now looking at Core foods, I'm like, I love this stuff!

Anyway, I got confused with the squashes, I have an acorn squash sitting on the counter, and looked it up and it wasn't listed, but there was one called winter squash, is that it? I'm confused...

thanks for any help!

Winter squashes are the hard squashes: acorn, butternut, turban to name a few.
