This is a good idea. I am game to lose 1 pound per week. I won't be buying the turkey, though. We'll most likely be in the RV. (I hope. I hope. I hope.)

I am thinking of buying myself some really nice clothes if (when!) I lose those 19 pounds. I am in desperate need.

Hi Everyone
Not much happening here today.
Did take the doggies to a new groomer today. Am very pleased with how she did the girls. And she is close home. Only 4 miles from my place. Where I was taking them was about 15 miles one way. The would have to kill 2 to 3 hours. Waiting for them. This way I will be able to take them and come home. And they do look cute. Got bows and little scarfs.
TEJAS Glad your puppy can take the meds. I know how you feel. When one of our girls dont feel good. Would rather it be me. And it is so sad. They look at you with those sad eyes. Like to say I dont feel good. Make me feel better. But you dont know where they feel bad at. Like a few weeks ago with our one dog. Never really figure out what was the matter with her. Hope you had a good day. We usually go to my brother in law for Thanksgiving. But just to be 19 lbs lighter would be wonderful. And then I wouldnt feel like the stuffed turkey.
ONTARGET Do you have a new place lined up already. Or will you have to find something. I cant imagine having to go through and sort and pack everything.
I wont be going anywhere this weekend. Just in and out alot. So will be on here sometime.
P.A. CONGRATS on the LOSS. That is wonderful. Have a great weekend.
TECHALUM Hope you have a great trip. And a wonderful bike ride. What is NP?
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Night

ONTARGET See we was on here at the same time. See the answer to my question about where you will be staying. But you could do a little turkey breast in the RV. Use the crock pot. Like in our son's camper he has a little oven. Or if your RV has a oven. You could do it in there. Be cool weather. So wouldnt heat it up that much.
Our son has a 24 foot camper.

Coco, I'm glad you'll be here with us this weekend. I overdid it with dinner tonight so now I"m wishing I had some of my weekly points back. Oh, well, they spend just as fast as money, don't they?

My son is talking to us about setting up an RV base at his place. Looks like that's what we'll do. I'm excited. We'll be next door to 2 of our grands.

Tejas 08-17-2007 09:06 PM

I guess it's the three of us tonight!

OK, let's have our own "one pound a week" Turkey challenge. (I see that there is a Thanksgiving Challenge on the Chicks up for a Challenge board.) Anybody who is on here who wants to try for the one pound a week, just write in and let us know how you're doing. We won't bother with a board unless someone else wants to start it. It is so quiet that it seems unnecessary.

Since I'm on a roll here, I'm starting my week yesterday (Thursday). So, next Thursday, I'll say how much I lost. I'm aiming for a BIG turkey!

Im not going anywhere..Im just on holidays next week..Im sticking around here and relaxing..cant get rid of me that quick you guys..haha

ontarget 08-17-2007 10:28 PM

Patti, we are so glad you're still here. We were already missing you.

Looks like 4 of us so far in this. I think Donna said she's in. I'll bet Paula will hop in when she gets back from vacation.

My normal wi is Friday. We went yesterday cuz we thought we had an appointment with realtors this AM. The appt got postponed till tomorrow. I'll either be going to wi on Thurs or Fri. I guess 1 day one way or the other won't make much difference.

Shayla is sick. I feel so sorry for her. This is the first time she's spent the night in several weeks. I wish she were feeling better. Those tummy aches can be pretty painful.

I used too many points today. I need to do better the rest of the week.

p.a. 08-18-2007 10:12 AM

I didtn get my walk in yesterday , but I will today. Dh wants to go for a walk so I know we will. Eating was good though. I need to stock up on some more fruits adn veggies though..they are soo good this time of year.
Off to make some egg white omlettes for breakfast. mmm now I stick them in my oven to bake, they turn out high and fluffy and seems like you are eating a HUGE omlette. All in the mind right??
have a great day today you guys...

Tejas 08-18-2007 11:01 AM

Well, I have lost .2 pounds each day for the past two days. I has not been easy, but I'm darn well gonna keep doing this!

It's a challenge. And a friend just called to see if I wanted to join her at the local Italian place for dinner. OK, I've had 5.5 points so far today...all Core...so, I'll drink LOTS of water and have ww pasta with chicken for dinner.

I've kept my points between 20 and 22 each day. I've been to :swim: one day and will do a WATP DVD today, as well as take a walk up to the vet's office and back (about 20 minutes each way). I'll also walk to dinner and back tonight (about the same distance as the vet's but in the opposite direction).

Patti, YES, all in the mind (and the gut!). Since Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier than the American one, and I'm an American living in Canada, maybe I should try for 1 1/2 pounds a week!

BTW, I was wrong about the number of weeks: it's 14, not 19.

Sandra, sorry your Grand is sick. Hope she is feeling better soon.

Coco..hang in there..you're doing great.

Well, I doubt that there will be any loss tomorrow! But, even so, I have a NSV: I left food on my plate.

I had ww spaghetti with anchovies, olive and eggplant. I had one glass of wine and 1/2 piece of ww bread. Not so bad.

I hope everyone is having a good evening...

Rhonda and Patti, you chickies did better today than I did. I won't go into it but to say that my other grand and I had a girls' afternoon out before we came home to clean out closets. Then while we were cleaning out my closet, I got all misty looking at the clothes that fit last winter that probably don't now. I also was looking at all the Ebay goodies I'd been so excited about buying last year. I'm not excited about clothes right now--haven't been for awhile.

I want to get that excitement back. I want to be proud of the way I'm eating and proud of the way I'm looking. I need to stop talking about doing what's "right" and just do it.

Rhonda, I didn't realize it's 14 weeks. You're right. 1.5 pounds per week is doable. We might even be able to lose 2. I haven't been exercising at all. I will start immediately. I don't want to go back to looking like I looked and feel like I felt and having to take the meds I have gotten to stop taking.

I hope this doesn't sound like whining. I think what I'm doing here is giving myself a talking to. If my arm were longer, I'd spank myself.

Good morning everyone! I'm back from vacation. We had a wonderful week at the beach. The weather was close to perfect - sunny and close to 80 each day. There was one morning where it rained so we went shopping around, by 2:00 we were on the beach. Even the mornings where it was cool (mid 60's) it warmed up by late morning. We spent about 3+ hours each day on the beach. Sarah made new friends every day.

In Maine where we were, there are a lot of french canadians from Quebec that come down. In the small street we were on there were 3 families from Quebec - all with boys, a couple were Sarah's age. She did play with them and she learned a few new french words. Such a social girl! We bought her a boogie board which she quickly learned to surf the waves. The water was about 62 or 63 degrees, it was actually not bad. The beach was shallow and we could go into our knees and give her plenty to swim.

Ate a lot of lobster! YUM, whats a trip to the coast of Maine without eating lobster. They were soft shell, nice and sweet and easy to get at. I did weigh myself when we got home, the scale was where it normally would be. But then we had chinese last night. Needless to say - I'm at 184 this morning. Had been at 180. Not sure if its vacation gain or temporay chinese gain.

I read quickly to catch up - I'm in on the Thanksgiving challenge. I need to get back to my goal of 174 by then. So, 10 pds in 14 weeks. Im in. I also am going to keep thet on line tools at WW.com. I'm not sure if there are meetings at work or not, if there are I think I'm going to pass this time. The last 2 sessions I didn't end up going to the meetings much and I didn't lose anything. So, I'll go back to writing down everything on line. I am going to switch my wi day to Friday - had been Wednesday. I do so much better during the week.

I need to finish laundry today and I may take Sarah school shopping. Preschool starts 2 weeks from Wednesday.

Thankfully, I'm off from work next week as well. And the weather is going to continue to be great! I'll be back after I read and catch up some more.

Tejas 08-19-2007 09:35 AM

Hi All:

OK, Sandra, you like a challenge and competition. This is a friendly one. I couldn't help but notice that we both did better last year. Could it be that we were motivated to lose weight before my wedding??? hmmm...OK, let's do it again.

I've lost 1.7 pounds since Thursday. I ate only 20 points on each of Thursday and Friday. Saturday I went over but not much and it was mostly Core. Today, I've had fruit and skim milk. I'm having salmon for dinner, and will focus on veggies for lunch. Frankly, it is not easy to eat only 20 points. I do get hungry. So, I drink water and eat fruit.

You don't sound whiney to me...just stating the facts.

Paula, welcome home. What a nice holiday (as they say here in Canada) you had with that cutie Sarah. I have a trip to Maine in mind myself. I have ancestors who landed in Rhode Island and there is something called Settler's Rock with their names on it. I want to drive from Toronto over to RI and on to Maine. We'll see if I ever make it. I have friends who drive from Ottawa to Maine just to eat lobster every year!

I'm spending my day making some curtains and throwing out papers. Then, I'm going to see my former MIL in the hospital. It's tough to see her, but she is enough in this world that I think the visiting might mean something to her.

BBL.

Rhonda

Just me today?

Well, I certainly went over my 20 points today, having salmon steak for dinner...but still not crazy wild.

I hope everyone had a good OP day today.

Rhonda
