Wow, I thought we were not going to be affected by this storm, were they ever wrong. We have had an icey sleety rain since 9am, about 4 inches of ice has acummulated, I went out in this to pick up ds early from school, I did not want him on the school bus in this mess. I am supoose to go to New Jersey tomorrow, my Aunt is visiting from Florida, she is my dd godmother, I don't know if I will venture out, it is still coming down out there. My poor aunt has been wrapped in a blanket all day she is freezing, what a weekend to visit(lol).

Good Evening All,

Spent most of the day up in my sewing room making the purse for my niece. I really hope she likes it. Now I have to start on the other coloring bag for the nephew taking the train to Chicago, my sister asked me to babysit him a week from Sunday so I want to give it to him then. Only takes a couple of hours to make though. I think I'm going to have him help me get the seeds for my garden started. Ought to be nice and messy. I can't believe it's time for that already :D

I am finding this eating every 2-3 hour thing harder than I thought it would be. Mainly in the morning I'll lose track of time and then be really hungry, look at the clock and it's been 4-5 hrs since breakfast, no wonder I'm hungry. Guess it'll just take practice.

Rhonda - Glad your enjoying getting in more walking.

Vickie - Hope the fence guy finely showed up.

Sandra - Did you enjoy the planned splurge. Sometimes (most times?) we need those, the key is to not let them expand to binges/falling off the wagon.

Michelle - Welcome!!

Frouf - hope your feeling better.

Patti - I noticed the salmon cakes were from "Eating Well" I'd actually tried them before and the were good, although the dill sauce was a little too dilly for me (not a huge dill fan). Was the stir fry from there too? The cookbook I got had a Korean Stir Fry that's really good with flanksteak/spinach/bean shoots.

Well I've gotta go grab a banana and head to Curves then come home and make dinner. The fun never ends.

niki - Hope your weather improves and you get to see your aunt. I'm pretty glad that storms not supposed to make it this far west.

:welcome: michelle. we're happy to have a new "regular" here.

melissa, i love that little smiley. it's precious! tell dh happy birthday!!!!

rhonda, there was a rooster here for awhile. i don't know what happened. a fox might have gotten him or something. congratulations on the walking. yesterday i did a bit more weight training. i'm going to walk today.

nikki, you're 100% right. into each life a little splurge must fall. sarah is amazing. i know you're proud. i posted my today's menu on the challenge thread before i saw the one you started.

frouf, olympics? i may be competing in the national senior olympics this june/july if my coach doesn't veto the idea. we are both already registered but we haven't booked air or hotel yet.

i'm sorry you're not feeling well. i'll bet it is tom hanging around. it takes me about a week to get over a trip (or tournament) now. i am exhausted and eat for energy. i get chilled when i'm tired. you're sounding a lot like me.

vickie, so far so good today on getting back op. i went to the store and loaded up with fruit. that should help. i'm waiting now for another hour and a half so i can have some popcorn. i like this eating every 2-3 hours. i looked for dr. oz's book at walmart and safeway today but they didn't have it. i'll have to look some more.

ontarget 03-16-2007 05:28 PM

nikki, i hope you get to see your aunt, too. our weather is all right. it's very humid and around 48*. not bad for western montana.

donna, i loved that splurge. i don't dare post what all i had. let's just say it was a decadent day. so far so good on being op today. sometimes i have trouble with the 2-3 hours eating, too. some days i sit and watch the clock tick. i'm doing that today.

Tejas 03-16-2007 07:08 PM

Hi All:

Nice to hear about Sarah and her reading. It's so important!

I managed to eat only one cookie at the meeting. They were right in front of me, and I moved them away so I wouldn't eat more.

I ate salmon with salad for lunch..that's 4 times this week! I'll be swimming upstream next. For supper, I've just had a salad. I did really well eating just salads for dinner, and think I'll get back to that. I add protein with beans or hard boiled eggs and sometimes a piece of meat. Salads aren't that appealing to me in the cold weather, but they certainly help the weight loss and maintenance.

It's just past 7PM here, and I am so tired from the week, I could just go to bed now. I probably won't, but, if I'm not back, you can be sure that I've curled up for the night.

Rhonda

ps: I love to dance so Rockin' Rhonda would suit!

Hi Everyone
Thought I would check in for a few. Hubby hasnt been feeling very good the last couple of days. Been having headaches. and then his stomach has been upset. Was feeling a little better today.
It is snowing here now. Suppose to get between 2 to 4 inches.

VICKIE Glad you got your Dr. Oz book. I havent got to read much in mine yet. Seems like everytime I start to read. Some one calls. Or I have to do something. And I know this weekend I wont get to read much in it. I am bummed about that. Thanks for the web site about the vitamins. Will check that out.

ONTARGET Congrats on the scores.

Thanks for the advice on the vitamins everyone. Will take the ones I got. And then see about getting some cheaper.
Well I better get off here for now.
Thinking of everyone.
Have a great weekend. Watch out for the ice and snow.
coco

WELCOME MICHELLE.
The group of ladies here are wonderful. They are very supportive.

ontarget 03-16-2007 07:15 PM

rhonda, we've had halibut once, tilapia twice and shrimp twice this week. we'll be swimming with you.

coco, how is dh? i can't remember what his health problem is but i am worried about him.

we're having chicken parmisan (sp?) /spaghetti/ and salad tonight. i had to toss the lo stew. it didn't look right. (tonight's dinner is a ww tv dinner)

TinkerBell1279 03-16-2007 07:40 PM

Thanks for all the welcome comments ladies, feel like part of the "family" already!!

Frouf - Yup a fellow canuck :) I live near the Vanoucver area ... and where abouts in the beautiful place we call Canada do you reside?

Tech - the eating every 2-3 hours is hard at first but once you've been doing it for a month or so it really starts to stick
Remember it takes 21 days to creat a new habbit and lose an old one

coco99 - sorry to hear about you husband, hope he feels better soon. SNOWING??? Where is it snowing???

Tejas - glad to hear you managed to only eat one cookie :) don't know if I could have done that.

Well so far this week I've been really good about staying away from treats. Started to grab for an apple or banana when I'm craving something sweet. Either that or I make myself a nice smoothie. Oh so yummy and I don't have to count anything when i make one :) We'll see how well I do tomorrow morning when I go weigh in ... wish me luck ladies!!!
Only real problem I've found this week is that after work I've been almost starving. Doing a lot more physical work right now then I normaly do so I think I may have to eat something more filling than a chicken salad for lunch.

Couple questions for you ladies ... what is the Dr. Oz book that you are all talking about??? You have perked my intrest. And how do you get all those cute little smiles and things on your posts???

Vickie 03-17-2007 11:35 AM

Good Morning Chicks! Sorry to have so little time to spend with all of you these last two days. Today will be more of the same. We have a confirmation and a party today for my oldest Great Niece. Party......party....party! My Sister's kids are cooking corned beef/cabbage/irish soda bread today since my Sister/BIL will be married for 46 years tomorrow. Isn't that SO impressive? My Sister is only going to be 65 this year. Babies they were! Anywho.......I stayed up late and slept late and now have to get my butt in gear to get things planned for meals for tomorrow so Jim can go to the store. Fortunately, I got the present yesterday.

I hope you all have great on program days. I'll have fruit and Core pasta salad today but the meat will probably be not Core. I don't think corned beef or beef brisket are Core. There's no sauce on anything so maybe I'll just have a little bit if it looks lean.

The day here looks beautiful but is FREEZING! I hope it's great where you are too!

Tejas 03-17-2007 01:52 PM

Morning all:

WELL, we're having snow here in Toronto! I didn't measure it or listen to the news, but it was a lot. It was the light and fluffy kind, and is melting quickly in the bright sunshine that has arrived.

I didn't go to bed at 7PM, as I had threatened, but I hit the couch and didn't move! Then, I read and went to sleep, sleeping very well for a change.

We've been out to eat and to Home Depot to adjust the color of the paint we're using for LR/DR area. I was so light, it looked stark white. Now, it's a little peachy, which will be fine.

Also, I think that I won't eat anymore today except for fruit, yogurt and salad. I went through the breakfast buffet line this morning and had more than enough.

I'm spending the afternoon cleaning the house. It hasn't been clean in ages, it seems to me.

COCO, I hope your DH gets to the Dr. if he doesn't improve. Continual headaches and stomach aches don't sound too good.

Michelle, glad to hear that you feel at home already....it's really a nice group of people here.

Vickie, have fun!

Later,
Rhonda

Hello again everyone.
Well today was my weigh-in-day. Didn't do just too bad. I lost 0.8lbs which I am just fine with. Any loss is a good loss right?

Went out to a movie last night and indulged just a little. Had about 2/3 of a small bag a popcorn and a handfull of my friends reeses peices. I have that small problem of being in the habbit that when I go to a movie it just doesn't feel right without the popcorn ... if only you could bring your own from home :corn:

Anyway tonight will be a bit of a challenge. Going out for dinner and drinks at a pub with some friends to celebrate St. Patties day  Hope everyone else has a good St. Patties day!!!

Now it's off to the gym to do my 60min of cardio :woops:

vickie, i have never had corned beef and cabbage. may be something i need to try sometime.

rhonda, i slipped today into a non-planned continuation of my hiatus. that's all i have to say about that.

i did get the book today. michelle, look up some of patti's posts. she's the one who's been reading/working it. to find her posts just click on her name over on the left of one of her posts. then click to see other posts she's made.

have a good weekend, everyone. i'm off to get into more trouble.

coco99 03-17-2007 08:33 PM

HAPPY ST PATTIES DAY EVERYONE
Hope everyone has had a good day.
We didnt get into too much today. Hubby is feeling better today. NO HEADACHES!! YEAH!! We went to see my Aunt. She seemed to be down today. So we took her some chinese. She likes that. Seemed to cheer her up some.
We had some snow this morn. And then it finally cleared up this afternoon. But was kinda cold. The wind was cold. The kind where it goes right through you. Not sure what the weather is to be tomorrow.
Well I am going to get off here for now.
Just wanted to say "HI" to everyone.
Going to go snuggle with hubby.
Today is our anniversary.
So everyone have a great evening.
Thinking of all of you.
coco
P.S. I baked some chicken. And it wasnt too bad.
I took Paul Newmans. Pineapple Salsa. and put that over the chicken. I also added a can of diced tomato's. and then I put carrots. Lots of those. And just a couple of potatos in there too. And baked until done. It turned out pretty good. My guys liked it.
