Good Afternoon All,
Well I skipped WW. I had weighed in that morning on the new scale so I knew I was up about 5 lbs and just didn't feel like dealing with it. I did update my electronic tracker and get started on a new week today though, which I didn't do last week even when I said I wanted to start over. I know for me I need to track what I eat or I loose track. Sounds like we've all got the same weather. Yesterday was beautiful 70 and sunny, today is still warm but overcast and rainy, snow predicted for Friday. Gotta love it. Yesterday we went for a walk when DH got home, you could smell the grills going everywhere it was pretty funny. Of course we were supposed to have soup for dinner, but had grilled chicken instead. No big plans today, I've been working on sewing a couple of bags for my niece and nephew we're celebrating their birthdays this weekend. Actually 4 nephews and 1 niece. 2 of the nephew's b-days were in Feb but they came down with the flu at their house and canceled (since I didn't want to share that was cool). So now they're piggy backing on the other 2's days on Saturday. After I finish posting I'm going to run to the store and then go to Curves, I haven't been in almost a week so I really need to go. Sandra - forgot to mention that I tried the skillet lasagna you posted. It was really good thanks. Frouf - sounds like your trip was a lot of fun. Remember it took a week to pack it should take at least that long to unpack :D. I often feel I need a vacation when I get back from vacation, why is that do you suppose? I think it's because we try to do too much on vacation (go-go-go). Coco - Starting over here.... Rhonda - Sounds like you and Sandra were getting up when I was falling asleep. I started reading in bed and ended up finishing the book around 3 am  . Dragging a little today though. Angela - Too bad about the job for DH. Vicki - I read the web page, what a nice thing they are doing, and what a nice story. You were lucky to have a friend like her. Mellisa - did you make it to WW? Nicki - Have fun listing on E-bay. Well, I see I've written a book so I'd better get going. Have a great OP day everyone. -Tech |
Darn it..we should have tried harder to fit into your suitcase Frouf....Im glad you back even if your not..haha.
Vickie that is a wonderful thing for your friend. Rhonda I made salmon cakes for the first time this week...I needed a new way to eat it. It was great. Almost core, including the dill sauce that went with it. (only 1 slice of whole grain bread crumbs werent core) got my walk in early today..may be going again tonight since its still nice out. I tried a new recipe out toinght ...its so good. If anyone likes a spicy core dish Ill post it on the recipe thread. It has shrimp, bokchoy and whole wheat noodles in it...just like soemthing from a restaurant. |
Patti, I'm soooo glad you mentioned the salmon cakes again. I tried to ask you about them last week and the post wouldn't go through on the challenge thread. Would you please share the recipe and for the sauce as well? How stinky do they make the house? I love salmon cakes but Jim has always asked me not to cook fish in the house.

Hi Everyone
Well just thought I would check in. Not much happening here. Went and got the car inspected today. So that is out of the way now. I went to vitamin world and got some vitamins. Boy they were kinda expensive there. Al most $12 for a bottle of 60. Figure I could find something cheaper. But went ahead and got these. So I could get started on something. And then I thought I would ask you ladies what you like or took. What ones do you like. I was taking the weight smart ones. But I really didnt see where they were helping any. And then they have caffene in them. And I am doing decaff stuff. So ideas would be apprecitated. FROUFY WELCOME HOME!! Love the picture. It was beautiful. I am thinking of each of you. Just wanted to check in for a few. Have to go and get a couple of things done before bedtime. Hope everyone had a great day. Will be back in the morn. coco |
'Night All...I was awake so early and worked all day with no rest during the day...very tired.
Frouf, loved the picture! Coco, I take just a simple, inexpensive multi-vitamin and glucosamine with chrondritin. I used to take calcium then I read that there are big debates about how well it gets metabolized and whether it is worth it or not. I'm hoping I don't need it as a supplement. Sandra, we're hoping you are the queen....keep us informed, of course. and, Patti...I'd love the recipe also...Vickie, what do you have to do, sneak out to eat fish???? Jim would never make it in this house....I love fish!! Rhonda |

Good Morning All:
I set the alarm for 6AM, but snoozed about 20 more minutes. Sandra, congratulations! I hope you're strutting your stuff in Montana these days....good shooting. Perhaps it was worth the "meltdown"? I read the recipes you posted Patti. I make something similar to your salmon cakes, but, I use corn meal often, instead of bread crumbs. My mother used to make them with cracker crumbs, as probably did every woman her age at the time. I'll try the dill sauce...I love dill also. I read a lot of the recipes this morning, and now I'm really hungry ;) I have another long day. There are too many of those recently. Our projects at home continue....thank goodness. As soon as we get the rest of the stuff into storage we start painting. The person to measure the kitchen comes on Monday. I'm curious to see how much of this project I actually do, but there will be a new stove, for certain! Off to read the paper and have breakfast. Have a good day everyone. Rhonda |
Good Morning Chicks! We had SNOW last night. Kind of hard to take after 74 degrees. It stuck on the grass but I'm sure it won't be around long. I have a busy day again today. I have an appointment between 7:30-9:30 today so I may have to run at some point if the guy arrives. Jim will handle it while I run upstairs to get ready for our dental appointments. Then we are going out to lunch and off to buy a confirmation and some birthday presents. Thursday is our dinner night out so I guess we'll be eating out twice today. It's a good thing my resolve is strong!
I'm going to go get a cup of coffee and catch up as much as I can until the appointment arrives. |
Hello all. Its seems to get tougher to find a few minutes to stop by. I feel I've missed so much - and I've missed you all very much! I've been a bit off kilter with doing core. I'm still about 3 pds from my goal and I'm very happy with how I look. I am still searching for the right inspiration to get me in the losing mode -- for now I'm maintaining and doing well.
The good news is that we are all finally healthy! But, it was 70 degrees yesterday and we have snow coming in tonight -- Thanks Vickie for sending it our way! The other good news is we bought a new car last weekend. My old car was 5 years old, only 48,000 miles and in good shape. EXCEPT for small electrical problems that had been happening over the past months. We decided to just get rid of it now while the trade in was good. We picked up the new car on Tuesday and I love it -- bought a left over 2006 Dodge Magnum. Such a great look to it, and I love the idea of a wagon. Saturday I have to go back to the dealership to get the registration and sticker. Thats all I've been up to -- a little bit of excitment. Frouf -- WELCOME BACK! I missed your stories and posts. The trip sounded wonderful and the picture is beautiful. I hope you are still on a vacation high - don't let work bring you down too quickly. Speaking of work, what ever happen with all the changes in your group? Any chance it means something great for you? Sandra -- CONGRATS on the win. Very impressive!!! Archery is not something I have ever been very good at. My DH taught me to shoot -- that I can do. I hope everyone else is doing well - Tech, Rhonda, Melissa, Coco and Niki. I must admit I am very behind on what has been going on. I WILL BE BETTER. My new focus for a purchase now is a new PC. I know I had posted about this a while ago but I never did anything on it. Well, I now have a new lap top from work that I should be bringing home each night (I'm the coordinator for our disaster recovery plan). Well, its a brand new Dell with wireless. And in order to log into work I need high speed. So, I need to get the cable hooked up, buy a new PC for the upstairs (our current one is limping along) with the cable modem and wireless. That will give us the speed on our PC and allow me to "use" my work PC downstairs. Time to research all of that. If anyone has any insight, I'd love it! I'm off to catch up, I'll bbl. |
Frouf, my friend, I am SO glad you're home.....although I'm sure you are NOT! The picture you shared was breathtaking but I was hoping to see a Frouf in the foreground. I'm very relieved that you loved Wicked even though I suspected in my heart that you would enjoy it as much as I had. No one could hold a candle to Idina. I SO wish you could have been surprised at the end. I'm telling you I was like a delighted child at the end when I saw it for the first time. I'm sure food detox is going to be a bit hard for you. I'm glad you started the new challenge since it seems to be helping you and others. I really loved hearing all the details of your cruise. I'll never take one so I need to live vicariously through you. How funny was the story of Ray trying to explain that you weren't his wife. Wish I could have been there. Will there be more pictures for us....maybe even one with a Frouf? And how did the boarding shirts go? Did you wear yours?
Donna, I OFTEN get into trouble when I skip meals or let myself get too hungry. Most of the time I just overeat Core food.....but calories are calories. I'm sure you can turn it around. I'm trying very hard to get remotivated and recommited instead of just playing around. I hope we can all do it together. Whatever you do, don't give up and start out getting back on the wagon one meal at a time. It may also help by promising to go to weigh in next week. Sandra, I'm reading the posts in order so I haven't seen yet whether or not you won your competitions. Something tells me you've done fantastic! I see you had trouble recently with letting yourself get too hungry, too. See....the Core program at least has some good concepts. It isn't just eat until satisfied but also to not let yourself get too hungry. Oooohhhh....I see from your last post that you've won!!!! I'm going to go read the website after I send my post through. Coco, I still haven't bought my Dr. Oz book. I'm hoping to get it today. I hadn't realized that you'd been struggling so long. Until recently, I hadn't exercised since August 28th, so things havent gone well for me since then. It sounds like you are sure turning it around now! Huge Congratulations :carrot: on your big loss for this week. I'm hoping to get back to having great losses EVERY week. Gardening is great exercise. I wish I enjoyed it more. As far as vitamins, I take a packet from QVC called Nature's Code. I take the one for Women under 50 (even though I'm about to go over) since I still have TOM. I'll see if I can give you a link that works. I've been on them, as is Jim, for about 10 years now. We are on auto delivery which means they send us a new package of 90 every 90 days. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail Melissa, it's always great to hear from you and we certainly could use your daily support. You were always a very positive influence for me. I think 6 pounds down is a fantastic accomplishment. It's better than what you had done without support, right? I'm very proud of you and I hope you keep going to meetings. It works for me although I can't really explain the dynamics! Did you ever get to weigh in this week? Nikki, I'm glad you had a great birthday! Little DS's manners are no accident. I'm sure he's the result of good parenting. Kudos to mom and dad. Angela, how rough of a move was that for your poor Sister? I hope she's feeling better now. Poor DH, having to go through that luncheon. Ugh. And what a disappointment that interview started out to be. I hope and pray that his new contacts will turn up something great for him soon. I know the worry must be getting both of you at least a little bit. Rhonda, your subway walking plan sounds brilliant. I'm trying to incorporate more lifestyle exercise into my routine as well. Wow, 50 boxes of stuiff! Good for you for decluttering your life. I need to do more. And for my fish fix, I eat it out at restaurants. Fortunately, it's a great way for me to be good at restaurants. I'm just learning how to eat fish so it's not a great hardship. Actually, there is a lot of fish I've never tried because I'm afraid to ruin my whole meal if I don't like it. |
