  • Hi everyone,

I'm new here! I found this site through a search engine and think it's wonderful! It's so great that there is so much information on every kind of diet! It seems like I've been on a diet since I was 12 (I'm 24 now) and have never had any success. It's become a joke that I switch diets every Sunday night. It's time to get serious and stick to a diet- every year I seem to gain 10 pounds or so. I've got to break the cycle! Anyway, my mom saw a segment on the Fat Smash Diet on TV and told me about it. I picked up the book tonight and it looks pretty good! It seems very easy to follow and very realistic. I like how he breaks down the schedule of eating and working out. I think it will help to have guidelines as far as times go. The only issue I see is the alcohol restrictions. I'm hoping for the best though!

    Wish me luck!
  • Good luck!

I think the plan sounds pretty good. Please let us know how this works out for you
  • Me Too!!
I just started the Fat Smash diet today too! I am new here, and was happy to see that someone else was going to give it a try. Do you know if we are allowed Splenda? I have a felling no, but that oatmeal is pretty hard to take plain!
  • Hello fellow Smashers! I started phase 1 on Sunday, July 2nd. Today is day 7 for me and I'm doing really well! I had a few mini-breakdowns, but managed to stay strong and keep plugging away. Hardest thing for me is watching my children and hubby eating what I can't! lol But I'm determined to stick with this for however long it takes for me to get the weight off. I'm not a "dieter" and am pretty skeptical about fad diets, but this one seems incredibly sensible and easy to follow. Most importantly I feel GREAT. Tons of energy and I look forward to my morning walk.

I caved and weighed myself before day 10 and on day 6 I had lost 4lbs. Not as much as I've heard from other Smasher, but I'm quite satisfied!

    Good luck everyone!

I'm not sure if you've had your question answered, but I think Splenda is allowed in phase 2. To sweeten my oatmeal I use a little vanilla extract and cinnamon, or a small amount of canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. I've also used unsweetened apple sauce and cinnamon, and one time I cut up an apple, "baked" it for a few minutes in the microwave and then added cinnamon. Very satisfying!
  • Its nice to see some fellow fat smashers out there. I just started this week and I am on day 4. So far so good!! Good luck to you all!!

    Happy Dieting,
    Mush
  • Thanks for the idea about the oatmeal. It's very hard to eat plain all the time! I have had a bit of a hard time this weekend, but am trying not to go too far off track. I have caved and had coffee and diet pop, so I guess on Monday I have to start that process all over again ! I am still eating lots and lots of veggies, and fruit, so I don't feel like I've gone too far astray. I think that overall it is a much healthier way of eating than I usually do, and I feel very good about that.
  • Well today is my first day. I've stayed on track so far, but I'm definitely not satisfied. Everything that I have made hasn't tasted very good! I tried to make some brown rice and it turned into mush. Not sure what I did wrong! I'm trying to eat fruit which is very hard for me- I've never liked the texture of fruits. I just had an apple which wasn't bad and filled me up.

I need to find some recipes to follow for tomorrow. The diet is great and I just need to be more prepared and learn how to cook rice! lol

    Good luck everyone!
  • Tomorrow will be Day 7 for me, and although I have gotten a bit off track (darn weekend BBQ) I still feel like I have had some success. I haven't gotten on the scale yet, but I think that I have at least taken off a few pounds. I have to say that afther the first 3 days it gets easier, and the craving diminish a lot. I have been eating a lot of fruits and veggies, and oatmeal every morning, with the odd egg white and beans thrown in here and there.

It is the easiest eating plan I have ever followed, WW just seemed to give me a little too much freedom, and I easily strayed. Atkins made me feel very yucky, and counting calories is a lot of work!

Hope to hear how all of you are doing!
  • I'm not familiar with this eating plan...I'll have to read up on it, but I just wanted to welcome you and wish you luck!
  • Good luck to everyone that is just starting this diet. Its really not that bad. As twinmom stated, the weekends are a bit tough though . Today is day 1 of phase 2 for me and I am down 8lbs now! 8lbs in 9 days is not too shabby . I'm excited because today I get to have some chicken. Hooray!

    Happy Dieting,
    Mush
  • I am starting Day 1 of Phase 2 today, 7 pounds down!! I am very pleased, especially since I cheated a bit last weekend at a BBQ. I am going to continue eating like I am in Phase 1 every other day I think, I feel really good, and it is pretty easy once you get in the grove. I even went to the movies last night and skipped the popcorn, a big thing for me!

Way to go Mush , here's to a successful Phase 1, and an even better Phase 2!
  • How is everyone doing? I went a little crazy on the weekend, had a couple of drinks, and an ice cream but I am back on track and ready for the week ahead. The good news is I didn't gain anything, and I am still motivated. I hope you are all doing well!
  • Hi all
New to the boards and I also started the Fat Smash diet today. I was starving most of the day. I need to better plan my meals. How is everyone else doing?

Hi. I found when I first started that I really needed to have lots of veggies/fruit ready to eat so that I didn't let myself get really hungry. Since you can have all the fruit and veggies you want (within reason) it's nice that you don't have to worry about figuring out the portions etc. I also cooked up a big pot of brown rice to have on hand, and would eat a 1/2 cup of that if I was really hungry.

Good luck, after a few days it gets a lot easier!
