Talking weekly What's on Your Mind chatterbox

I just posted in the Monday Matters thread, not even thinking it's already Tuesday I started this one so maybe we can keep going for the week

cj--congrats on the loss (no matter how much it is!)

I had a very stressful night last night--the rental office lost my rent check but had my boyfriend's check, even though we turned them in in the same envelope...who knows how they managed that one I definitely didn't feel like cooking in my fits of frustration and tears (they wanted an additional $100 late fee!), so I didn't make what I had planned for dinner. Once the problem was resolved with the manager, I came home and had 2 bowls of granola cereal with skim milk and bananas. High in carbs, but at least mostly nutritionally sound, and I managed to have only 1633 calories all day

lyn--I don't know about you, but it's amazing how much more on-track I am when I am recording everything in Fitday. I'm sure you'll hit the ground running and take off successfully again

My tops is tonight so I will see if or what I lost. I think I will have lost, but it is never enough, LOL, but it is going and that is all that counts.

I got out my summer clothes yesterday and tried it all on and I am happy to say that more than half of it is too big!!! Good that I have lost weight, bad that I have to replace it all. Oh darn, think I may have to go shopping! LOL

cheers, cj

Ceejaye,

I wish I could say oh darn! I haven't made the type of progress I want but I am making progress nonetheless. I have managed to lose the weight I gained lately.

Lill, that's what I'm working on now, too. I managed to go up by about 5.5 pounds over the past month, so now it's time to get rid of that and move on!

cj, have fun shopping! Always feels good to buy some smaller sizes!

quilt--that is all that counts is RIGHT! As long as the numbers are heading in the right direction, who cares by how much or how little, it is positive progress!

I should have a pretty good loss this week according to my home scale. I weigh in tomorrow night, so I will be sure to keep my sodium to a minimum today--no excuses!

ggg--just click on anyone else's ticker to go make your own. Then follow the insturctions at the end of the process (copy and paste the code into your signature in your User CP).

CJ--I know this was rom another thread, but I'll mention it here...congrats on getting in those veggies! I am horrible when it comes to veggies, mostly because I just don't like 'em I'm in the habit of drinking a glass of V8 6 days a week now (the bottle says an 8-oz glass counts as 2 servings of veggies), so hopefully that helps in some way. Of course, I've survived nearly 24 years with hardly any veggies, so I'm not too worried about it

I have my TOPS meeting tonight. I think I'll be down at least 2 pounds (at least, that's what my home scale says). Next week, I can't go to the meeting because I am driving to my sister's that evening (she's getting married next weekend, and I'm the maid of honor, so I'm sorry, but that takes priority over TOPS ), and then the weekend after that is our SRD, which is taking place in a hotel that's only about 1.5 miles from my apartment. Hopefully it will be a nice weekend so I can walk to and from

Smile Happy Easter

I just wanted to wish everyone a blessed Easter .... I have been off work since Tuesday. I work in the factory at Kodak... we are out of parts so that gives me the opportunity to take extra time off. Actually, they will pay me to sit there and be bored, but I didnt feel like it, lol
I gained a lot last week. Seems like I cant get it going like I want to... I will put some extra effort into it this week. I will be around a lot of food on sunday. They usually make turkey along with the ham, as I cant have a lot of salt.
I have a very sick sister who is in renal failure... with her its lifestyle and never taking care of herself... Tomorrow they will install a shunt in her arm for the dialysis... I just hope they can get her feeling better soon... So I am making a consious effort to keep out of salty foods. One staple I love is cheese and cottage cheese. Will cook fresh turkey breast for sandwiches... tuna is good if you rinse it first...
I have been on ebay this morning. Talked to a lady selling her Tops stuff because she tried to start a g roup and it just didnt take off... I found a larger bracelet for me .. Im fairly large boned and need a longer bracelet...
One question I have is what does your group do for Nametags/ charm holders. we have a foam yellow hand with red felt hanger thing to hold charms. I found some plastic name badge holders but need ideas for a sash or something to display awards... any ideas would be appreciated..
this is getting long so I best quit now, lol.........
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL........barb

Indiacatz.

I understand, about your sister. My family has a lot going on too. My dad is an alcoholic, and is in Alcohol demenia, his sister has brain cancer, 5 tumors, and my brother and his wife just had faternal twins, one of them has insephalitus and we are waiting for that one to die. They say never live long past birth, but she is going on over 24 hours. It is so sad. The boy is perfectly okay though so what a blessing, and my brother got to come home from Iraq to be here with his wife during all of this.

In spite of all of this, I'm still hopefull and happy, and yes, trying to take better care of myself than my dad or my aunt did.

Life is just too precious to waste. Everyone have a great holiday and hang in there on all of our diets.

My TOPS meeting was cancelled this week! So no weigh in for me! I'm hoping that I won't have a gain next week but that will be getting dangnerously close to my TOM, so I hope I am still down. I have been known to gain 10 lbs during that time.

I had a bad eating Easter weekend. Not as bad as past years but certainly too many calories. On the bright side I did manage to get in two hikes on the weekend before the rain set in, so I'm hoping that will counter balance the eating! LOL

Oh and Jilly, I eat a whole cup of turnip and carrots on Saturday!! Boy am I proud of myself. BTW I love V8, it is a great way to get veggies!

cheers, cj

Ooooh, CJ, you'll be proud to know that with Easter dinner, I tried some asparagus! And it didn't kill me! I think she cooked it in a ton of butter, though, but at least I tried it

I was down 2.5 pounds at my TOPS meeting last Thursday night. I won't be at my meeting this week because I have to drive down to Va Beach that evening for my sister's wedding this weekend.

I didn't do too horribly over Easter weekend. Of course, I had more calories than usual at meals, but I also didn't graze all day as I often do on weekends, so it must have evened out because my home scale said the same thing Monday morning as it had on Friday morning.

Easter isn't a huge holiday in our household. I downplay it mostly because of the candy factor. My son always gets candy from relatives, so I stopped buying him candy years ago (I ate most of it, anyway, haha). I usually give him a $10 gift, instead. This year, he spent the earlier half of the day with his dad, and spent the afternoon with me, going for a long bike ride and eating curry.

I had Easter dinner at a friend's house, and her mentally challenged uncle called me obese. I could have done without that, but oh well, consider the source.

Lost 2.5 this week!
