Lowest of the low?

  • Can anyone answer a question for me?

    What are the lowest of the low carb count fruits, vegetables and cheese?

    I started to look on fitday but they make you pick and click on each one, and I thought someone might know where you could get the most "bang for your buck"...

  • aren't blueberries and such the lowest carbed? I'd have to find my Atkins book. I think in the back of it, it told the carb count of at least some of the fruits and veggies. If nobody else can answer that I'll try and find it and figure it out for you.
  • According to a list I have in an Atkins cookbook, here are some of the lowest, along with carbs/serving. (I don't think the list I have is anywhere close to comprehensive, but this can give you an idea.)

    Fruits: raspberries (2.9), plum (3.3) strawberries (3.4)
    Vegetables: lettuce (0.2), broccoli (0.8), cabbage (1.1)
    Cheese: brie (0.1), parmesean (0.2), American (0.3)
  • Thanks! Im thinking about lowering my carbs again but dont want to give up fruit entirely....
  • If you go to the atkins website, and check the carb counter, it will give you a listing of fruits and their carb count.
