I am wondering about the tickers at the bottom of some members pages. How do you put that on your page? They are so cute.
HI SoCal and welcome to the beach. Its a great place to be! If you want a ticker click on one here and you will be taken to the site to create your own. Its an easy 5 step process. After you create yours, select the first choice (out of three) and copy it to your clipboard. Then come back here and go to User CP (up above in the purple bar) and create your signature, then paste the ticker info in your sig. Voila!
For me the extra visual provides added motivation, I can "see" the progress, yet still focus on the goal.

Never posted on SBD boards before. Bought the book about a yr ago and brought it back to the store. Just wasn't in the frame of mind at the time and Phase I looked tough. I've bounced around with SB(sugar busters), WW, back to SB and most recently Atkins. I've done more harm then good. My cholesterol is horrible and I'm now on medication for that. (along with meds for HBP and type II) So recently I went back to WW. The points are boring me and because I'm allowed carbs I keep falling into binges. I just recently spoke with my sister who I haven't spoke with in months and she has lost 20lbs and my neice lost 3 dress sizes and all on SBD. She just loves it. Feels great. I have to admit, the thought of buying yet another book and trying yet another plan does not thrill me, but my sister was just so amazed at how her cravings for sweets and carbs(her biggest hurdle) just actually diminished. So I think this is worth more investigation which is why I am back here at 3fc once again because I always find so much information and opinions both good and bad. Sorry I went on for so long, but just wanted to say "keep it coming, I need to know more"

Welcome, welcome, welcome! I have been on the beach for nearly a week and am LOVING it! I just know you will, too! One thing that has helped me when a craving would start to hit (note: I said start - that way I would head it off at the pass, so to speak) is I would remind myself that the moment that whatever the food was would be in my mouth was not worth it. It may not work for everyone, but after losing 5 pounds in less than a week, it was just too exciting to see the progress.
