  • Monet just woke up from a nap....and is a bit groggy. Lunch was a piece of ww bread with ham and a glass of 100% juice cranberry juice. I had a snack of a banana with peanut butter. I picked a green tipped banana. I know they are not legal, but I need the fiber and potassium right now. My incision feels like sunburn today. Kind of stinging and itchy. I think its ok, so I am not worried, but I just wish it would heal already!

WANT: Good to see you! I think 5 weeks to lose 20 is ambitious but if you won't get discouraged and fall off the wagon if you DON'T make it, at least see how close you can get to that goal! A few suggestions: stay away from the sugar free candies. They are SO good, but don't help you getting over the sugar cravings, and can hinder your weight loss. Are you drinking plenty of water too? You would do better to drop the diet sodas, which have aspartame, which can hinder weight loss, and sodium which can make you retain water. Good old water is always better than sodas. I hope you can make your goal! We will all be cheering you on, so post often for support and to let us know how you are doing! Oh, and congrats on the birth of your son! Children are a blessing....
  • Thanks for the imput Monet, I know its far fetched and I will be shocked nonetheless if I got there, but a girl can dream cant she? As for the water, yet I do it alot. I only had diet soda once today and it was only a glass if that much, I am not a big drinker. I know the candies have to go, but its that time of the month and they called my name. Besides I assumed 2 would not hurt as long as there was no habit forming here. Thanks for your imput though, I am open for suggestions as always.
  • Almost time to go home. No plans for tonight. I have riggatoni ready to pop in the oven, with low carb pasta. Add a salad and I have dinner. Should be able to get my walk in also.

Toni, great job. that is an awesome loss and great motivation to keep on going.

Ken, that sounds like a fun trip.

Nat, Happy Birthday to your DH.

Monet, for you too. It should be less tomorrow if you are naked  Usually itchy means it's healing.

Tonya, welcome back. Congrats on the baby too. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Deb, hopeyou had a fund day with Eli.

    Have a great evening.
  • WOO HOO!!! I just decided to hop on the scale again, after I got out of the shower. Another 2 pounds! That is 9.5 pounds since Sunday!

  • AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

My procedure went well. I did go ahead and do the sedation. They told me that since they are working on my neck region, that they have to put an IV in anyway just in case of a problem, so they said to go ahead and do the sedation for all three since the IV will already be in.They pumped me FULL of feel good medicine which is still working!

JACKIE....You were right! The whole procedure took about 5 minutes! And then I had to stay in recovery for 30minutes before I could leavd. I have two moe scheduled in two week inervals.

JULIE...when in December are you coming to FLA? Debbie ALWAYS likes to visit if people are near, and you will be! Let us know...IF I have any time off built back up by then, I might be able to come ove to Deb's and we'll journey up to have lunch with you!

TONYA...{{{{{{{{{{{WELCOME BACK}}}}}}}}}}}}} Good to see you again.
    CONGRATS on the little munchkin!

MONET...CONGRATS ON THE LOSS....You're back on track....You don't know "nuttin" yet....you will get to the point of wanting to get the rake from the shed to scratch with!!!!

    NAT....

    DEB....

    TONI....{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!!}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Yes, I slept, but fitful...I think it was in the back of my mind about the procedure and not knowing what to expect.

  • TONYA : Welcome back! You have a little cutie there Hey, reach for the sky and lets see what happen. Monet gave you some great ideas on your meals. Increase that veges and don't be afraid to eat starch, just limit your portion to 1 serving each meal.
Not eating enough can slow weightloss too.

MONET : I hate the feeling of grogginess. It takes me hours to get back all of me...lol. Yes, I agree with Jack that itchiness is a sign of healing as your wounds are drying up. Looks like progress is definitely there.

    JACK-K : Dinner sounds yummy!

BOB : I will be in FL for 4 days, 3 nights. Technically I have only 3 days to do whatever and the last day is for flying back to ATL. We will spent 1 day with dh's good friend in Miami and 1 day with dh's aunty somewhere in Miami and only left one day in West Palm. I would love to meet you and Deb but not sure how things will be once I get to FL. I know Deb is closer to West Palm but wonder how close. I will check with her.

DEB : My FIL lives in West Palm Beach, how close are you from WPB?

MONET : Woo Hoo....those lbs are coming offf!!!!

    Julia
  • Howdy!!!!
Woo Hoo to this weeks losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work everyone that is getting in all their exercise!!!!!!!!!! You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still way up but I did get in day two of walking. I'm at mama's so I need to get. See ya tomorrow.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • My day has really gone downhill since my shower late this afternoon. I feel crummy, and I am about to go crawl in my recliner, snuggle down with some pillows and do some fiction reading just for fun. Tom is watching a movie, and James has friends over, so I am kind of on my own. I would watch the movie with Tom if I felt more like it, but he is watching Kill Bill 2, which is NOT my kind of movie anyway.

Dinner tonight was chicken tetrazzini, and marinaded asparagus. It was good...not legal but very tasty!

BOB: Hope you are doing ok...

Good night everyone! Will check in tomorrow!
  • Just a quickie......test results for my baby girl (bassethound) came in today. Not what I wanted to hear. She does have a cancer. Will know more after one more test comes in. (To see if they were able to get all of it with the tumor removal.) Then we will talk about treatment options. Not in very good spirits right now. Will stop in again when I feel better.
  • Good Morning all!
I am up at the crack of dawn every morning, one due to work at 7:30 besides my son wanting to eat a 6:00 and then we played and watched The Wiggles before getting ready for work.

I appreciate everyones advise and I am working on putting those to practice. I do in fact eat alot of salads, like pretty much everyday. I am trying to eat more veggies but to be honest not a big fan! So I am struggling. However, I intend to have some green beans for dinner. As for the starches, I know about the 1 serving but just trying to hold out on them for like 2 weeks. The only downfall of this program is severe headaches every evening. I hear they will pass, and once I did Atkins for a couple of day (got tired of counting my broccoli) and I got headaches with that program too, but they did pass. That is the only problem I am having. Staying OP is going pretty well.
Bible Study went well last night, the host ordered subway and has dessert, but I passed and had some water. Didnt bother me at all.

    Plans for Menu today:

AM: Eggs/Bacon - 1/2 glass of Hansen sparking diet orangeade
    Snack: Pistachios
Lunch: Salad - type unknown yet
    Snack: Slice of Cheese
Dinner: Chicken, green beans and Salad

Well going to get to work now. Chat later.

  • Good Morning! I am waiting for my drawing buddies to get here. Not sure how much I will be able to handle, but it will be nice to have a few new faces to chat with!

Breakfast was an oat bran muffin, 4 prunes and 4 dried apricots, and two cups of coffee with cream. I usually only have three and three of the dried fruits, but Tom must have thought I needed extra, since I told him not to worry about eggs this morning! I will wander down to the kitchen in a bit and find something with protein to eat. I might wake Laura up and beg for her to make me a few fried eggs. She is rather talented with cooking eggs!

I feel better today. I just took my first dose of ibuprofen since late last night, and I am not totally sure that I needed it...

I think we will celebrate my two week post op today by going out to dinner. No one has called to tell me they are bringing dinner, the kids go to trivia at a local restaurant tonight, so its a perfect night for it! I think the outing will be nice, as long as we go someplace on the quiet side with comfortable booths!

BOB: I am already at the 'wanting the rake' stage! Man does this thing itch! But if I gently rub it, it feels worse...someone likened it to sunburn, and that sure fits. I wish I could put some of my sunburn stuff on it..the stuff with tea tree oil...but I have heard you should not put any creams on the incision until the doctor tells you its ok. So, I will wait! I just hope I don't go crazy by then!

WANT: Sounds like you are planning and doing well! Good for you, passing on the subway! I feel excited for you...I bet you are going to do really well!

TEENSY: I am so very sorry you got bad news on your pup... <<hug>> Keep us posted on what they say!

KENG: Isn't it gorgeous today? How is your driving coming along? Once you get your license, we are going to have to get together for lunch!
  • Morning Everyone

Well, I finally got to vote, but of course, not without issues. This supervisor I left messages for the other day FINALLY called me back Tuesday night. She assured me that I would be able to vote without any problems. Since ELI was off yesterday, I went today, right after I dropped LAUREN off at school, a few minutes after 7am. The early voting sites are all at the local librarys, and there's one right near her school, so I scurried over there. The line for parking was out to the street - granted, this is a small branch with not a lot of parking. I ended up parking in a office lot adjacent to the branch, prayed my car wouldn't be towed (I'd not be the only one) and went over - where there was already a long line-out the door already. Moved quickly, was inside the library within about 5 minutes - ahhhh, a/c! Waited in line for a while, finally, I asked one of the volunteers if there was any way to check to see if I was going to be able to vote, that I had been there last Friday, etc. He, thankfully, pulled me out of the line and took me in the room where the voting was - past a LOT of people. Get in, the same girl that told me last week I couldn't vote was there - I told her the supervisors name I spoke to, yadda yadda - she pulls up my info - and it STILL shows that my application was received after the deadline! I told her I was ASSURED not once, but twice by this supervisor there wouldn't be a problem - in the end, gosh knows what she did then that she didn't do last week, but I got to vote. Was in and out quickly and happily so. Saw the people I was in line next to, they were still at least a good half-hour to 45 mintues away from being able to vote - I was a happy camper!

As mentioned, ELI was off yesterday. We didn't do much beyond going out for lunch, got a late start since I wanted to let him sleep because he closed the store the night before. Had to take my car in AGAIN, so he didn't get to sleep that late (8am). Thankfully, my car appears to be fixed - that is, to the tune of ANOTHER bill of $225! This car is costing me an arm, leg and breast now - but still, I have to look at it, even though I've spent a lot of money in the last 6 months, it's still cheaper than buying a new car and making payments. 111K and counting. At least it's purring like a kitten now

I have some errands to run this morning - taking advantage of not having to p/u LAUREN from school today. Tomorrow MOM and I are planning on going out for a while together - they are giving $20 worth of free play at the Hard Rock Casino - and since we have to go by there anyhow...figure I'd play with that, as I've done before, and then we'll leave as soon as a lose it - which doesn't take all that long Never win anything and figure, if they are willing to give me $20 free to play with - why not! Takes MOM less time - she plays quarters, I play nickels. Found my father and her a wonderful deal on line to go to Vegas - I am now their personal on-line travel agent They are going in December for 4 nights - hotel and air for $264 a person - not bad!

MOM just called, it's getting late, so on the road we go - will try to check in later today and catch up with what I can

  • Hello to everybody! Just a quick note here: I gave in last night and had the candy corn. This was my first candy in about six weeks, and I got so sick to my stomach!! It was great! I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon! Getting fatter doesn't deter me from eating sugar, so maybe feeling sick will. Hope you all have a great day, gotta fly! -Ruby
  • Good afternoon,

It's been busy a nd htis is the first chance I have had to jump on here.
Didn't end up eating the riggatoni last night. Went to get chicken with some friends. I had lima beans, spinach and 3 chicken legs. Not too bad. Didn't get to walk, but did get in 45 minutes of wt traininga nd floor exercises.

Bob, I had the recovery time too. Just don't think you can do anything b/c you feel good. Be careful. They really helped me. Really didn't need the last one but since I was having the 7 hour surgery, thought maybe I should. Yes I beleive in ghosts. Friends of ours have 2 living in their old house. Nice ghosts.

Teensy, sending hugs your way and prayers for your puppy.

Ken, It would be nice ifyou could meet up with Deb and Bob in Fla.

Tonya, those headaches should be gone in a couple of days. Hang in there. I have learned to like more veggies after doing SB for 3 years. It's amazing what you learn to like when you can't have other things.

Monet, I think it will do you good to get out for awhile. Enjoy your dinner.

Deb, hope you win big at the casino. I have found that the quarters and dollar slots pay off quicker. Why are you voting before election day. Saw something onthe news last night about something criminal with the voting in Broward County. But didn't see the whole story. Thought of you.

    Country, have a great day.

Got to run, the water pills are really working on me today.
