  • Sìo, my scale has rebelled and has decided to go up instead of down. The only change that I've made is that I now walk 5km every day (for the last 3 days). I am extremely sore in every square cm of my body now, it is not funny. I made some turmeric and ginger tea, so I hope that helps. I dunno what is going on, so I think I will give it a rest for the next 2 days to see what happens. My sleep patterns are still out of whack... I think I'm going to pause IF for a week and see what happens. Just gotta keep keeping on.

    Weekend Boater Thank you
opheliaphoenix - I will look for the chamomile tea as Weekend Boater suggested.
    Congrats on the losses guys!

  • Tea..... I have been drinking a lot of mint tea recently, mainly to keep me warm! But, should get some green tea in for cleansing, I have to drink it very weak though. Never been a fan of chamomile, but so many people swear by it to help with relaxation.

Today is the day, exercise makes a reappearance in my plan! Currently still in my pjs thinking about breakfast though, so it will be later on when my work is finally complete. Sat doing marking with a Sunday morning coffee isn't fun, but needed!

Chouku - I'm no scientist or expert, but believe your increase likely to be your muscles retaining water to help them heal. Once they are repaired and used to your new level of exercise the water will disappear and you will be rewarded on the scale. I expect a similar problem when I begin exercising too. It's a necessary hump to better health though, so I don't mind! Keep on with your food plan, and soon enough you will reap the rewards

opheliaphoenix - how was the home workout? What does it typically involve? I am going to dig out my dumbbells today for in the house and also go for a walk I think. Starting slowly. Although, Lisbon is the city of hills so going for a walk can involve mountains! I hope your husband's foot is better today. Your progress is geat, and yes, I agree that success is a better motivator to keep on track than a stall!

Another .2 gone today. Felt sick after the haribo last night and only had two small glasses of wine even though I lifted all restrictions. Really, really hopig there is the start of a change in my head space happening here!

    Happy Sundays all

  • chouku: Definitely take some rest days and heal up...your muscles are probably retaining a lot of water and lactic acid from the exercise if you're feeling that sore. And, let me know how you like the chamomile tea! I've always heard great things about it, but have never tried it myself.

takingcontrol: I ended up being lazy yesterday afterall, so that will be my motivation to get out and do something today so I don't feel guilty for just hanging out...lol. When I DO do stuff at home, it's usually following a workout video from YouTube, using the fact that we live in a two story and using the stairs as a workout, dancing with my toddler, or some yoga. Or, a mixture of any of the above. Congrats on the loss, by the way...you are inching ever closer to Onederland!

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 276.0 today, so just 0.2 lbs down but still headed in the right direction! I didn't end up doing a workout yesterday, so I kind of ate my words. Only metaphorically, of course...lol. But, still...I should have held myself more accountable to exercise. Husband's foot is still hurting, so I doubt we're going together today either -- so, I may just head over by myself this evening, since it is harder to get motivated while cozy at home. That will have to change, but - for now - getting up and going out is what is helping, so that's what I'll do.

  • an update and encouragement for those who don't see results for a few weeks despite doing everything according to a plan that should be working. As noted below - I went 14 days 14 DAYS PEOPLE with nothing, nada, zilch. Then, the Pounds-be-gone Angel gave me a wink and a nod last week. So - when nothing is moving, check your diet to make sure there isn't something hidden, adjust as necessary, and keep going!

  • Urgh, an early start at work this morning, feeling a bit sick but forcing my porridge down. Never have a been happier for a mini pause on the scale, the rate of loss last week was never going to be a long-term thing and was starting to worry me! I'd like to make my goal of dipping under, and staying under 210 by my official weigh in day on Thursday.

Got busy with errands and didn't go to the actual gym by myself yesterday, but I did get in a workout in at home at least! So, it was something. Going to be another busy day today and am already tired, lol.

  • My scale and I have been fighting for the past few days... like seriously. But like you guys said I believe it is water weight. I know I said I would stop walking for a bit, but it is so addictive omg! I wake up at 5:30 every morning and hit the road for a 5k then have breakfast when I get back if I'm hungry. I don't think that I'll give that up since I'm seeing so many changes. I am trying to change my sleep patterns and for the last few days, it has been working. I go to bed at 11 pm and started to drink the chamomile tea right before bed and dandelion tea in the evening, and play some binaural beats throughout the night. I have also increased my calories from 1350 to 1500, lets see how that goes . Despite the scale not going down, I can see major changes in my body. My tummy is almost 65% gone, my boobs are much lighter, my back fat has gone down, my arms and my legs are slimmer. I'm not yet able to measure myself because my tape measure hasn't yet arrived but I'm sure I've lost at least an inch.

Congrats on the losses everyone, especially ophelia! Wow. That's amazing.

Down to 152 lbs. Lost 5 pounds so far this month. My goal is to lose 6 this month. Just might make it!

    Lynn

  • Nightowlrn: Yay, I'm glad you finally had that breakthrough on the scale!

flower1: Congrats on meeting your initial goal for January!

takingcontrol: Glad you're feeling better today...and, congrats on hitting your goal as well!

MonteCristo: Wow, nice whoosh yesterday...so close now! I bet you will hit it today after I've posted this, lol.

chouku: Thank you! And, congrats on the nice loss, the validating NSVs, and finding a routine that is working for you now. That is awesome!

ladyinweighting: I think you just might...great progress so far!

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 274.0 this morning. Didn't expect the whoosh, but I will take it and hope it stays down tomorrow! Apologies for never getting the time to come back for personals yesterday. Hoping I mostly caught up today, lol.

  • I came back from my morning 5k to find 226 on the scale very happy after days of struggling! Lol. I'm finally starting to sleep for 6-7 hours at night. Thanks guys for suggesting the chamomile tea, it works like a charm. I'm now in bed by 10-11pm and wake up around 5:15 to start my morning walk at 5:30 - 6:30. Last night I experimented with a 20 minute HIIT workout before going to bed. It was good and I didn't feel sore this morning before going for a walk.
Opheliapheonix - you should try the chamomile tea with a little lemon.

  • Quote: I did the December challenge and it really helped to keep me accountable. Here are my goals for January.

    01/02: 190
    01/09: 188
    01/16: 186
    01/23: 184
    01/30: 182

This would be a total of 20 lbs since I started in December and a total of 8lbs lost in January!
    Actuals

    1/02:190
    1/09: 186
    1/16: 184
    1/22: 184 - no loss no gain :-(
  • Chouku & Ophelia, great numbers once again. Seeing you on plan and successful if a real motivator for me to stick with my new journey, so thank you!

Ladyinweighting, good luck for that last pound, i'm sure it is doable!

Bslope0, don't feel disheartened with maintaining this week, you are still perfectly on track for the month overall!

My scales continue to be kind! Tomorrow is my official weigh in and I would be delighted to hold onto today's figure of 208.4. TOM is just around the corner, so I suppose water retention and the need for sugar is too, grrrr. and today I am out of the office and not home until 9.30pm which messes with both lunch and dinner.... snacking will have to happen, but on a sensible level I hope!

    Happy Wednesday everyone!
