  • Leah, sorry, cross-posted with you! Yes, I can definitely see the argument for daily weighing, I suppose I just hope that if I stay on plan I should have an overall loss across a week. I don't know as much detail/whether I'm carrying much water on that particular day, but I think I've a tendency to get a bit obsessive and easily disheartened by natural variation so I think this suits me best.

Ring shopping is great! When we did it we walked into the first shop, both saw the same ring we liked (which also happened to be reduced in the sale) and bought it. I sort of wish we'd spent longer looking now (although I love my ring, I just don't get to go shopping for jewellery very often). DH seemed very relieved it was so easy though!
  • July goal: a post a day on 3FC

  • Tuesday weigh-in...after seeing my progress for the first half of July, I see my original goal was a bit ambitious. I'll be happy with 5lbs. at this point! One consolation, all the water weight was pretty much gone before I started the July challenge.

  • I've noticed a few of you indicate having a weekly "Carb Day". Would you care to share what kinds of foods you eat on your carb day? Is it a carb free for all, or something more managed? Thanks in advance for the input!
  • Enola I used to be the same way with being obsessive and it's great that you've recognize that in yourself.

My fiance was laughing so hard at me yesterday as we were shopping. He knows that I'm super indecisive but also too nice to say that I don't like something. He thought it was hilarious and luckily the sales people were pretty patient with me.
  • Hey y'all!

    Finally saw a drop today..

  • Sizzlingina, woohoo on the drop! Keep sticking to plan like you're doing, because you're doing great!

Leah, I think it's great that you know what you want in a gem (and moissanites are lovely), and you're not letting any saleperson who's obviously paid on commission talk you out of it!

SusieKay, CONGRATS on reaching ONEderland! 199! As for Carb Day, I am on a diet that is not a low-carb/ketosis diet but is a slow-carb/low glycemic index diet. Typically I avoid foods like bread, cereal, rice, grains, pasta, potatoes, starchy foods, and sweets (aka craving-causing, blood sugar-spiking, quick-burning carbs), but one day a week, called Carb Day, I can eat anything I want as much as I want. I try not to go "crazy" on that day since I have to go right back to slow-carb eating the next day, but if I want to go "all out," I'm allowed (and sometimes I do)! I usually gain between .5 and 2.5 lbs in water weight on Carb Day, because for every gram of carbohydrate that the body converts and stores as glycogen to burn for energy, it also stores 3 grams of water. Because it is just water and not fat, however, the weight usually comes back off in a couple of days and I continue to lose. That's how the Slow Carb Diet is designed. So that's the Slow Carb Diet, and Carb Day, in a nutshell, lol!

    Joy, on posting!

Enola, Oh, I understand about not being able to weigh monthly! I'd be the same way! You should definitely do what works best for you!

Lovemylife, thank you! That is so sweet! I feel the same way about your posts!

Purple, thanks! And I'm so glad you are feeling good about weigh-in now tonight!

As for me, my weight stayed the same today! I was expecting that since I was pretty sore and achy after yesterday's workout, so I figured I might hold onto water.

  • Very quick check-in since I over slept. TOM, you've only been gone 2 days, why are you back in full force? Go home, nobody likes you here!! Grr...it's been like 2 weeks. I hate adjusting to new birth control pills. My insurance doesn't work this month because of a glitch in renewal so I can go in a see my doctor but I called her office and spoke to her nurse. She said, while uncommon, it does happen sometimes when switching hormones. No, I don't like this. Luckily my weight isn't going all wacky from it. Though this would explain why I've felt more bloated and had to start going to looser notches on my belt. I don't like this feeling!

  • Good Morning Everyone

Going to be sunny and 75 (hey I think that's the name of a song lol) But such a beautiful day for us here today. I wish it could stay that temp year round. Hope everyone is doing great. Will check in tomorrow. Have a great day.
  • I like to do weekly check-ins (I simply don't have the time to do it more often).

I would say I'm happy where I'm at, as well, it's a great set of losses for 15 days. BUT... these are "probably" the only losses I'll see this month as AF is sure to arrive any minute and then will begin the 2 week stall out. I 'might' lose a tad more, but probably won't make the 10 lbs goal.... not that it will derail to NOT get there.

I just hate my monthly stall outs!!!

So... ten pound goal for me this month.

    Start weight: 242.4
    Goal weight: 232.4

    01: 242.6 (+0.2)
    02: 242.1 (-0.3)
    03: 241.4 (-1.0)
    04: 239.8 (-2.6)

    06: 238.8 (-3.6)
    07: 237.1 (-5-3)
    08: 236.9 (-5.5)
    09: 235.6 (-6.8)
    10: 235.2 (-7.2)
    11: 234.5 (-7.9)
12: 235.6 (-6.8) was at a party the night before and ate cake - an instant pound gainer when I do that!
    13: 234.9 (-7.5)
14: 233.9 (-8.5) reaching 30 pounds lost since the reboot! Woohoo!!!
    15: 233.8 (-8.6) yay! Yesterday wasn't a fluke!!!

  • BerryBB, your stats are awesome! It's nice you have a monthly pattern figured out and know what to expect. I have studied my stats again and again and there seems to be no pattern at all!

Leah, I'm sorry to hear about you having a 2nd TOM in a month. I've done that a couple of times because of being pre-menopausal and it's no fun! Hopefully, you'll get another whoosh of weight loss though!

Lovemylife, what a beautiful day! We seem to be having a mild day here so far too, but it's supposed to switch and get into the 90's. I don't mind that as long as it's not humid!

Pigeon, yay! I'm so glad things are going well! That's great news! Woohoo on the losses!

Keli, great job! Keep the scale moving back down! :

Purple, congrats on that nice drop!

I am back down to being within a half lb of my mini-goal, so I am hoping to get out of the obese category this week!
